The Ravenous Pig: An American Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
After reading some good and not so good reviews we finally decided to try this restaurant. It was a huge disappointment from the salty micro shrimp in the shrimp and grits entree to the brisket burger that was not brisket but just a $17 hamburger. We also had to send it back as it came rare instead of medium. We also were very disappointed with the lack of service. The decor is very nice and the beer was good, but you are better off going to the bar for just a beer as there are many better restaurants off of Park Ave in Winter Park. This place is also way overpriced.
I always enjoy The Ravenous Pig! Take advantage of their $3 draft beers and other drink specials during Sunday brunch or happy hour. Service was excellent, and I love the new InKind app to purchase discounted gift cards and pay via the app rather than handing away your credit card.
Had a blast eating a fantastic meal yesterday. Miller was a great waiter who provided excellent service and advice. The food was amazing. Pulled pork sandwich, the burger, and the chicken sandwiches were delicious. We had biscuits and the pimento cheese for appetizers. Great experience. Sad we live 2hiurs away. But we will be back.
Service was great, attentive but not intrusive. Appetizers were great: charcuterie and the smoke bone marrow very tasty. Downfall was the recommended pork chop. Very thick cut but dry and tough. I know with lean meats there is about one second between raw and overdone but these fell in the overdone category. Desserts were delicious. Cocktails very nice and uniquely prepared. Overall very nice but avoid the pork chop.
The decor is very cool. I like that it’s a bit rustic. The specialty cocktails were great! I had the Gin and Tonic “on tap”it was very refreshing. My husband and daughter are bourbon and whiskey drinkers and enjoyed the Bourbon Fix and Krampus Run.
We started with the Bone Marrow. Mouth watering, beef butter. It was incredible. We also had the Foie Gras Brûlée, wonderful. Buttery and melt in your mouth. Hubby had the Venison. It was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Daughter had the Ravenous Pub Burger with a side of the Mac and cheese. Both very good. I had the Pork Porterhouse, amazing!! I couldn’t believe how juicy the pork was for as thick as the cut was. We had leftovers today, so the portions are very generous.
The only reason I rated 4 stars is because we waited approximately 45 minutes for our starters. The starters were worth the wait in the end but it was frustrating watching other diners get their entrees while we were sitting there. Our server did comp me a glass of wine and our desserts.
I highly recommend The Ravenous Pig.
The Pig just never fails to impress me. I live in Miami so I don't get up to Winter Park that often but this place has always been a must (even in the old location that was impossible to get in to!). There are too many great dishes to list them all. The bar is great. They brew their own beer. Everything is made in house. This is without question one of the best restaurants in FL. If you're anywhere near Orlando and you don't go, you'll regret it.
Sometimes the greatness of a restaurant shows in how they handle an uncomfortable situation. We were enjoying a delightful conversation with our friend, had a wonderful glass of wine and a terrific salad. It occurred to us that our entrees were taking a bit long to come out, and it had been longer than a normal wait would be. I think my husband may have caught the manager's eye, because in very short order we had not only our entrees but the manager following right behind with a complimentary glass of wine for each of us and an apology for the wait. Our food was very good. This was probably just a human error, busy Saturday night slip up. We were in no hurry, no harm done and were so pleased with the efforts made to make it right. Will definitely return.
Really enjoyed the meal for the most part. Bone marrow was very good and foie gras was excellent! My girlfriend enjoyed her farmers salad. I had a desire for a burger which was tasty but luke warm at best accompanied by cold fries which could have been a timing issue in kitchen but I suspect was probably due to waiters inattentiveness. Our dinner was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it was not particularly busy. Hopefully it was just the luck of the draw or in our case unlucky:-( probably would not go back but who knows. We have a lot of other options that service is generally outstanding. Enzos where we attended the previous night was phenomenal!
I don’t know what took us so long to come here. From the start our server, Phil, was amazing. He made wonderful suggestions, was very warm and attentive, and provided fantastic service. My husband loved his Pub Burger (and the truffle fries, which I “sampled”/stole from him were delicious!) I had the Tuna and Nantucket Bay Scallops, per Phil’s suggestion, and was not disappointed! The bread and “Pig Tails” were also scrumptious! I absolutely love the concept and the atmosphere is cozy, but very trendy. We will be back very soon to try more of the amazing menu!
A wonderful evening! Their bacon infused old fashioned was an awesome start on a meal that just got better and better. Everything was amazing, from the drinks to the apps like the foix gras brûlée to the main. The pork porterhouse is to die for. Also in the restaurant eating dinner was celebrity chef Art Smith. Epic.
I had been to Cask and Larder when it was in Winter Park and thought it was excellent so I knew when I was in Winter Park again I had to try The Ravenous Pig. I was extremely impressed it was one of the best meals that I’ve had in a while excellent service, fantastic food and the Old Fashioned was the best I’d ever had!
Some in our party had the Sunday night dinner for two - the Florida fried fish, kale salad, pimento biscuits, and apple cobbler were amazing! Two others of us enjoyed the best hamburger in town (topped with bleu cheese!) with truffle fries and Gatherer's Salad. The octopus appetizer was tender and so tasty! The wine was equally delicious. Service is always friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is relaxing. This is our all-time favorite restaurant!
We came all the way from Sweden looking for a restaurant with tasty cousine and a guy from Orlando told us about this place.
The Ravenous Pig offers you perfect service, beer from their own brewery and food that makes you tastebuds fall in love. There’s a great atmosphere and it’s clean and modern. We are definitely coming back and we’ll recommend this to everyone we know that are going to Orlando.
The Ravenous Pig remains one of our favorite locations in the Winter Park area. We have dined there several times and never disappointed. The wait staff is polite, professional and knowledgeable. We enjoy the changing menus and the food is always up to par - I highly recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
