The Ravenous Pig: An American Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
Chicken and Waffles - couldn’t taste the foei gras which was the main reason I ordered it. Waffle was cold and portion was small (half a whole waffle). The highlight was the chicken which was smoky and savory.
French toast with Pork belly and Carmelized banana - looks and sounds appealing but didn’t do justice. The whole dish was bland. Textures didn’t work well together. It was not a satisfying meal.
Brunch Punch - served in a small teacup, it wasn’t a refreshing drink that I was looking for.
However, service was good and our server even surprised us with an anniversary dessert which we really appreciated.
Overall, the value of food over price didn’t meet our expectations and overweighted the great service.
Our server Heather was wonderful and made our anniversary celebration a memorable experience. She provided great attentive service and demonstrated genuine care throughout the meal, we will definitely go back to see her. The Rav-Pig food was outstanding and the brunch menu offers a wide selection of creative, authentic dishes for different tastes and moods. Overall an outstanding dining experience! Thank you Heather.
Great Evening at Ravenous! We hadn't been there since they moved locations and it didn't disappoint. We got the Charcuterie Board, which was so delicious and different. All the meats were so unique and had different textures and tastes. We had a Gluten Free person in our group and they were able to accommodate for him and fixed the menu to meet his allergy.
Made a last minute reservation for Saturday night, so had to settle for 5:45 or after 8:30. At 5:45 the place was jumping and service was very slow, but food as delicious as ever. If this had been a pre-theater dinner I would have been beside myself. Excellent wine recommendation.
We went to the ravenous pig for our wedding anniversary! They printed custom menus and made a special dessert that both read "Happy Anniversary!". Neither was a specific request - we just indicated what the occasion was when we made the reservation.
In addition to these special touches, the food was phenomenal. They have a seasonal menu meaning all of the ingredients are as fresh and local as possible.
We tried 3 beers - all of which were brewed in house. An IPA, a vanilla tripel, and tried a beer brewed with barnies coffee from down the street with our dessert.
For the appetizers, we ordered half a dozen raw oysters and a selection of house made bread with various spreads/dips.
The entrees were perfection. My husband ordered the veal with a shittake oatmeal and some kind of blueberry reduction. I had a 30 day aged NY strip with house made gnocchi. I'm still dreaming of the experience.
Lastly, we ordered the pig tails for dessert - twisted, fried dough with chocolate espresso dipping sauce. As mentioned before, they also brought out a special anniversary treat!
The service was wonderful as well. This restaurant is known for experimental dishes but our server made everything very accessible to us.
Always a great experience here, 10/10 would dine again.
This place is seriously amazing! We brought our 2 year old daughter to brunch and we were worried she’d be too loud but the noise level was moderate so the crowd drowned out any sounds she made so it was perfect! They don’t have a children’s menu but they did put together something she could eat for us! The food was insanely good and we had a tough time choosing which items we wanted because every single thing sounds amazing (and looks according to the plates we saw handed out to other guests)! We started out with some cocktails that were AWESOME! Had shrimp and grits appetizer, he had the burger and I had a Monte Cristo. Everything was cooked to perfection. Hadn’t been here in awhile but we were pleased to see this place hadn’t lost its charm, post location change, or their ability to whip up a damn good meal! We will DEF BE BACK! This restaurant is a 1.5 hr drive for us each way and it’s worth every single minute it takes to get here!
The severice was good. We arrived at our reservation time and was told it would be15 minutes. 30 minutes later we had to go up and ask about our table. The waiter was excellent and very funny. He was good at suggesting items to try. The food could not have been any better. I would recommend the bread board and bone marrow appetizers. We each had a different meal but I believe the venison and the halibut we the best. This is an excellent choice for a celebration or an important business dinner.
This was our second visit and we came to celebrate my birthday. Food was perfect. Miller our server was excellent and kept our glasses filled and kept us up to date on the food as they were a bit behind in the kitchen. We enjoyed our visit and will visit again.
Waiter had an attitude and prices to high.
We had reservations for a table which I specifically told the girl on the phone our parents are elderly we need an easy area to get in and out of. Told them my mother in law has walker. We were seated in an awkward area and waiter told us “I don’t know anything about it”.
