The Ravenous Pig: An American Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
As always, the Ravenous Pig was awesome. Gruyere Biscuits melt in your mouth, "The Tacos" have the most delightful batter on the shrimp mix, a Morel Mushroom Tart was delish, and best of all, a Pork Porterhouse was brined, smoked then grilled, and was the juiciest, tenderest, most flavorful pork I have ever eaten. The pig continues to rule the roost. Best restaurant in the Orlando area, by far.
The steak frites didn't taste as good as I remembered. All you could taste was the seasoning. The fries were delicious as usual. The swordfish with capers were not my favorite, but I definitely enjoy the out-of-the-ordinary dishes that they have. Also, the salad we order was missing avocado even though it was listed on the menu. This was taken care of quickly, so bonus points for that.
That being said it is still one of my favorite restaurants. And it was well worth the money.
It was my first visit but my companions had be there before. The food seemed not up to par.The rabbit entry was pretty dry. The lamb entry was good but not spectacular. My flat iron steak was excellent but the portion was small and the only other item on the side was a very large portion of fairly salty fries. The meat/cheese appetizer plate was good but the sliced meats were fairly mundane and my companions said it was not up to the usual standard.
I took my wife and two daughters to eat here and the food and service were both top notch! I was worried about my younger daughters (8 & 10) not liking the different types of dishes being served but they loved the steak and lamb that they ordered. My wife ordered Cobia and I had the Salmon and both were delicious! All of the dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We also had the Gruyere biscuits to start and for dessert we had the Tart and Pig Tails. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and we look forward to returning so that we can try more of the ever changing menu!
Ravenous Pig served up a delicious and interesting dinner! Everything is very fresh. My husband had delicious flank steak and I had trout. Salads were excellent. My husband loved the Steamroller, a mixed drink from the bar. Wine by the bottle was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Spectacular dining experience. Every dish was expertly prepared, with great combination of flavors, textures and colors. Wait staff was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient. Entire experience was the best dining we've had in Orlando. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
Would only decribe this as a neighborhood gem for Winter Park. The menu was very limited for lunch with mostly sandwiches and salads. Wish they would have had more options. For instance, the lamb and fish were good enough to be served with other options on a plate (without bread or carb). NOT really a foodies destination. Too bad, with such a great name as "Ravenous Pig" and reviews there isn't much pig on the menu.
We had a wonderful meal at the Ravenous Pig. To begin with, the cocktail list is exceptional. Leon’s Pop with house-made blood orange soda had wonderful layered flavors. It was a pleasure to be able to order two smaller plates to try a wider variety of the items. The charcuterie in particular was a stand out. One might think liverwurst pedestrian but the Ravenous Pig's was flavorful with a wonderful texture. The deserts were also inventive twists on home favorites including the red velvet whoopie pies. In addition to the wonderful food, the service was outstanding--attentive without being smothering.
Best place in the Orlando area hands down!!!. My wife and I ate here for our anniversary dinner. I had the halibut it was amazing and cooked absolutely perfect. My wife had the pork shoulder it was the most tender pork we've ever had and that was also amazing. The service was some of the best we've ever had, noise level was perfect, prices are well within reason, portion sizes are perfect, just an all around great restaurant.
With an ever evolving menu that combines the seasonal availability and the chef/owner's creativity, the Ravenous Pig continues to be a gem of Orlando. From the pub fare to the chef's creations, you won't go wrong selecting anything on the menu. I had the pork shoulder marinated in milk and chicken stock over a blackeyed pea ragu. Can you say yum? The peas were cooked perfectly, the pork tender, and the braised kale was sweet and smoky. If it's still on the menu, you won't be disappointed. For dessert try the strawberry and rhubarb crisp. It is light, sweet, tart, and tasty. My compliments to the chef(s)!
