The Ravenous Pig: An American Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
Very accommodating help! Switched us to a quieter area so we could talk. Another waiter turned down the music on his own, turned to us and said he thought it was a bit loud. Our waiter was knowledgeable, talked and explained things just the right amount. When we mentioned it was our anniversary, waiter brought dessert for free and staff had written "Happy Anniversary " on plate with dessert in icing. Food was delicious! Pleasant experience! Great staff! Thanks!
This was our first visit since the big Cask & Larder/Rav Pig move. The food was great, but not amazing as we were accustomed to in previous visits to the two establishments. At any other restaurant this would be fine, but at the price point it just felt short of expectations.
Terrible! and I suggested our going to the Ravenous Pig because I'd had a fabulous meal there several years ago (different location). Ordered the same thing as before...the Gatherer Salad that I remembered as best salad that I'd ever had. This time, it was far from that...I do much better at home. Had it topped with steak that was not firm, but mushy.
Wait staff was very attentive and friendly at first...and then disappeared for 30 minutes when we needed our check and had a plane to catch.
Sadly disappointed and won't go back.
We enjoyed the hush puppies, great waiter, but . . . The salad had a soft-boiled egg which was a bit over cooked. We ordered the minestrone and veal parmigiana pasta dishes. The shrimp meatballs were a big disappointment and didn't taste right. The home made pasta was very good. The veal sweetbreads and the gnocchi were very good, but the tomato sauces was too sweet and took away from the dish. The place was recommended by a local and we have family who have been there before and enjoyed it. We were disappointed and maybe we ordered the wrong items.
First time trying this restaurant and my girlfriend and I only have three word for those thinking of going here. It was Amazing! The restaurant has a very nice look and the service was right on top of it. The menu provided a lot of great options and since they have a brewery inside, the chance to try something new and great tasting is all there. Food was fast and delicious while containing good portion sizes. Highly recommend going here for a date night or if you're in the mood to enjoy a nice and relaxing atmosphere.
We went for dinner on a Saturday eve. Over priced. Menu selections are described very nicely, however, in my opinion did not match what is served. Poor craft beer selection & wines offered were mediocre at best . Seems like it may be a good after work happy hour place.
The Ravenous Pig is my favorite restaurant. I live in Atlanta but visit Orlando regularly. On every visit, I simply have to go here to see what new meals/beers/drinks they have to offer. It's always a most redeeming adventure featuring the freshest ingredients, masterful cookery, and inventive approaches. In the many times I've been, I have never had a poor experience. From the host stand to the service to the food, everything has been top notch.
I will note, on this most recent visit, I did notice the changes in the dining room decor as they've changed from the previous Cask & Larder presentation. I'm not overly fond of the interior, but it's not so upsetting that it would ruin the meal. I would they continue on tweaking this aspect of the restaurant.
We were a party of 6 for my husband's birthday. They were able to provide my daughter with a high chair and crayons, despite the fact that they do not have children's menu and probably do not get many kids there. The food was a delicious, but took a bit long due to a large private party that had arrived before us. They served the cake my in-laws brought and also provided their own free birthday desert to my husband at the end of the meal. Overall, a great dining experience.
My wife and I have frequented the Ravinous pig/ Cask and Larter restaurants for the past few years whenever we're in the Orlando area. The service and food are always good. But this time the food was absolutely HORRIBLE. We had shrimp tacos for appetizer and the taco shells were rock hard, inetable. My wife had steak frites and the frites were so over salted they were also inetable. We informed our server and he tried one and agreed. These plates should have never been served in my opinion. We were more surprised that the manager did come by our table and offer any apologies. We were both incredibly disappointed. Not sure if we will return.
My wife and I were visiting friends in Orlando and were recommended The Ravenous Pig. So happy we decided on dining here. The food was good but Steven, our server, made our night memorable. The fries came out a bit cold so he made sure to send out some fresh hot ones right away. The wine recommendations were spot on. The mango tart was an unexpected delight. Super savory for a dessert dish so not for everyone. I will recommend this place to all my friends in Orlando.
Everything was great for the most part until the end of the meal. We had a very attentive server the whole time, but then when we needed the check, she disappeared for 25 minutes. This was a lunch reservation on a weekday, so it really held us up getting back to the office.
Also, I love that they do a special birthday dessert, but they are unable to offer their birthday dessert with candles. You have to bring your own candle(s) and order a different dessert option. I would recommend they offer up a scoop of ice cream as an add-on to their birthday dessert and pop a candle in that to be a bit more festive.
Always great menu and preparations..service in the new location has been poor and we've had issues each time we have been here. Hope they get it together sooner than later. There is one superstar wait staff..he was very knowledgeable..remembered us even though he only waited on us one time..and cares a great deal about the experience the customer has. He is an asset to the team..
