Permanently Closed - So what makes a great tasting steak? Firstly of course the beef! The cows happiness in life is what makes great steak so our criteria is that they live in open spaces, are naturally grass fed. But that is not enough continental cross breads mature young have little life and lack flavour. So we only use Rare breed pure British breeds like longhorn or Dexter which although expensive am sure you will find is the best you will taste in Europe! Our philosophy is simple to source the finest and in many cases local ingredients, cook them to perfection and endeavor to use only fresh and not frozen ingredients. Dishes will be served at your table with happiness and passion.     This was booked for an anniversary dinner. Booked via Open Table and a confirmation email received the day before. However, when we arrived we found that the restaurant had been closed down 2 days before. No one from the restaurant had called us to tell us this and how can we receive an confirmation email when the restaurant had closed!!!!

    3rd visit here. First was when they just opened - disaster! Second was a slight improvement. Gave them one last chance........ Items on the menu were not available (menus is not that vast! If it's on the menu it should be available). Steaks were ok. Service was friendly but a bit slow especially considering they only had 5 tables in on a Saturday night. Again the side dishes were cold in the middle. Again no spoons given to serve the side orders so trying to dish up mac and cheese or cauliflour cheese with a fork is interesting and no staff in sight to ask for a spoon. This has been every visit but the dishes are obviously pre made and heated as they are Luke warm at best. We sat by the window which had a least 2 squashed flys squished on!

    No atmosphere, couldn't have the hot rock starter ( although it was on the menu it isn't served here) overpriced!

    We visited the restaurant on a Thursday night which happens to be 'Steakfest' night (not mentioned when we booked) and I have to say the idea of as much good quality steak, endless sides and inclusive draft beer, house wines and soft drinks worked really well. The food was extremely good however the service left a lot to be desired, we were not even asked how we wanted the steaks cooked (at a Steak Restaurant!!). Each round of food contained of two/three steaks and a 2x serving dishes of sides (to feed eight people), therefore it went really quickly and when we had finished the round it took 20-30 minutes to bring the next. There was also a white covering on the salad garnish on one round which I would say shows an lack of quality control.

    Fathers Day treat with family. Best ever steak. cooked to perfection and fantastic taste. Friendly waiters/waitresses and excellent service. Only one thing could have made it better. Cheaper drinks.

    All four of us enjoyed our meals fish cakes not on the menu so an alternative was offered which was lovely all had steaks all perfectly cooked and tasted fab.

    Where to start! Starters - two ordered fishcakes - not available. Main course, two people ordered chicken, only one available, and that was overcooked. Instead of chicken that person chose dover sole. Looked more like breaded plaice and didn't taste like dover sole. One fillett steak very nice, another rib eye steak very salty. Roast veg which was to accompany dover sole did not arrive. When asked where it was they produced stir fry onions, peppers and tomatoes. Dessert okay. Coffee - I stressed I did not like weak milky cappacino. I was given weak milky cappacino! Worst part it was SO EXPENSIVE.

    A real disappointment , very expensive not very good food apart from the steak which was great . High prices for very little, the steak came with a greasy onion ring , small mushroom and half a tomato . Ok service but not very professional. The food arrived lukewarm and my cold watery cauliflower cheese was replaced but still managed only warm certainly not hot and still very watery . The radio was playing over the speaker system which was very odd . This restaurant is trying to charge fine dining prices but is so far off the mark . Not somewhere we will be returning .
