Table of 7 with a full house, reservation was honored right on time. Prompt, efficient service. Kitchen a bit slow, but acceptable given the full house on a Friday night. Draft over priced under poured, but good variety.
Filet, 4.5/5; grouper 5/5; steak sandwich 4/5 (need more onions and shrooms; scallops 5/5; rubber chicken 3/5; pot pie 4/5; pad Thai 3.5/5
Great variety on menu. Seafood seams to be consistently excellent.
Awesome experience as always
Service was great. The restaurant is extremely loud but it wasn’t a huge deal. The menu had a lot of options but our food was good.it was exceptional but it was good.
Fun location in Decatur with nice ambiance. The grilled prime rib was delicious! Our service was attentive, responsive and enjoyable. Protein portions were substantial with small sides but that's the better way to go. I would definitely recommend this place.
First off, we sat for 1 hour. Second, only saw the server once, when she sat us, no refill. waited for our food. The people their as in other customers were rude. But the food was dead on. If you go be prepared to wait. Order an appetizer or you might starve. Did I mention how good the food was ? Service sucked though. Will not return.
It's 100% great 100% of the time!!!! Love this place!!!
The environment was excellent. Food was great and the service was excellent. We enjoyed everything about the dining experience. We will return again. There was a varied menu with many great choices. All of the entrees we ordered were excellent. Everyone in our party will return to the RailYard in the future.
Food and service was great. Would highly recommend to any and all.
Very interesting menu and well executed!! Delicious food in a nice setting with a very courteous and professional staff.
This was my third visit to The Railyard. It is definitely one of my favorites. I like that you have to make reservations b/c it isn’t just a huge place....it makes for a much better dining experience. The food is wonderful & I love the location. Decatur is a small town (which I love - not overcrowded) & this is a hidden gem.
This was our first time eating at The RailYard. We really enjoyed the environment and the food. The service was very good as well. We look forward to returning in the future. Thanks.
This is the ‘go to’ dining experience for a wedding anniversary celebration.
Great Local Food and Service!
The food is wonderful but the noise level makes it difficult to have a conversation
Great service and great food as usual. Railyard never disappoints
Our server Carson was amazing. He made excellent recommendations. The meal and drinks were delicious.
Great old building that was once a mill. Excellent food, friendly people, and a good beer selection. It turned out to be open mic night and the music was too loud. Hard to have a conversation.
The food and the service were both great! My only complaint is the price. I got a cheeseburger and added bacon with chips and a tea. With tip it was $18! If you can trim that price down it would be perfect.
Love this restaurant usually.
I was a little disappointed for 3 reasons...
1. They removed the sweet little window table which was our favorite. (Restaurant could be redesigned to accommodate more seating).
2. They took the ahi tuna flatbread off the menu.
3. The chicken meatballs were hard as a rock.
Still a great value compared to any nice restaurant in Huntsville - Cotton Row, Purveyor!
The blood orange martini is SO good!
I will continue to recommend this eatery and drive from Huntsville to eat there.
This is an absolute must try. The service was excellent. The drinks were very well mixed. The menu variety is awesome. Not only was the presentation of the food excellent but the actual dish was wonderful. The braised lamb, the crab cake and filet were just right. The chartrudery board appetizer was so tasty. We will make a habit out of this place.
Superb experience! The staff was very good. We had a reservation and they seated us immediately. Waiter had good recommendations and gave a lot of relevant info. He seemed to know the dishes and the drinks very well. Cheese Fritters were excellent. Seared Scallops and Shrimp was a hot out of the park. Pork Chop Pecatta was juicy, tender, flavorful and full-sized. We had Caramel Bread Pudding very good. This is for sure on our “do again list” of places.
Great food, excellent service. You can tell they care about the quality product they provide. It was a little noisy, but the kids loved the books and toys.
The RailYard is a great place to have a date, hang with friends, or even take the family. Perfect atmosphere, great food, excellent staff, and one of the best bartenders in town. The only thing I can pick on it is a little pricey but worth it overall! Be sure to make a reservation cause this place usually stays packed, with good reasons.
It was great as always
Incredibly delicious food at a fair price in a delightful location.
too loud, uninterested server, watered down drink special of the day, food average.
Always a great experience!
Wonderful food! I always stop to eat when I’m in town visiting.
We enjoyed the service, visiting with friends, etc. Nice experience!
Will b back.
Great food and good service.
Cave aged blue cheese burger?!!! Just try it.
Great unique drink selection. Great food.
We made our reservation a month before we were going to be traveling to Florida. We have been there twice before and really enjoyed it. When we arrived, we waited while the hostess checked to see if our table was ready. Then we were taken to the second dining room and seated at the last table (which was long and had menus stacked at the far end) right by the kitchen and dishwashing area where the doors were wide open and the dishes were rattling. There was other stuff stacked back in the corner. The table location certainly killed our anticipation and overall dining experience. There were several open tables with reserved signs on the way to our table but there was no one else waiting to be seated so it was a mystery why we got the table clear back by the kitchen. On a positive note, our waitress was friendly and the food was great.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere, kind friendly service.
We booked a Saturday night reservation for the Rail Yard, based on some Open Table comments. Got there a little early, so we were able to pick a table. We absolutely enjoyed the experience. We had expected the RailYard to be a bit more formal, but enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Jeans, shorts, sport coats and dresses, we saw it all. The service was superb. Carson/Corson was out waiter and was extremely attentive, full of recommendations, very engaging and personable....all the qualities we would expect in the best of service. We would ask to be seated at one of his tables the next time. The Bistro Salad was excellent, fresh greens, very tasty goat cheese and candied nuts with an excellent glaze. I had the grouper with crab and shrimp and it did not disappoint, extremely well prepared and sized, nothing to complain about. I would order it again tomorrow. My wife had the file and crab cake, and it might have been one of the nicest cuts of filet we have had in a while, and the crab cake was tasty and well prepared. Ruth's Chris could take some lessons from these guys on cooking beef. Dessert was the Toffee Crack Pie....a highlight. We enjoyed it thoroughly and would order all again. Are looking forward to returning to try the sandwich menu. An excellent choice for a great meal.
Went for dinner Saturday night. Considering the prices expected more. Paper napkins with a $23 prime rib seemed or of place. Looking at the menu better value for lunch or sandwiches. Prime rib was ok, some bites had good flavor while others were bland. Portion side was good for the steak but sides were lacking.
Food, Family and Friends..homerun!!
The filet, which was ordered rare, was very tough and a very poor cut of meat for being a filet. The strip was pretty gristly and again a pretty poor fit of steak. The crabcake was excellent and so was the dessert. Service was great and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant.
The food was fantastic. The veal shank was superb and was especially complemented by the chef’s choice of grits and vegetables. The venison and cherry sauce was the best we’d ever had, and the lamb chops were perfectly done with a delicious bacon gravy. Our experience was topped with great cocktails, decadent desserts, and outstanding service. We will definitely be coming back!
The food is great. A little noisy but good ambience. We had a great meal and a great time.
