The staff was very attentive without being hovering.
Every dish was well prepared.
The chicken wings are really good.
The chicken and salmon were good too.
Nice to have a good eatery in the Penn Station neighborhood.
Fun dinner. Thank you for the complimentary dessert.
Been here a few times with a group of 4+. Drinks are great. Normal NYC prices for midtown. Always ordered several small plates and it was always was enough and great. Ribs are a must. Great GF options the last 2 times I visited for the GF eaters in my party.
Service was not good and for was mediocre. They make a big deal about the burlesque show which started an hour later than they said and lasted 6 minutes. Not worth it.
Fun and electric.
The way a neighborhood restaurant should be!
Bartenders Shelby and Ruth did an excellent job of suggesting cocktails and menu items. The first time we stopped in and had a drink at the bar (El Guapo) and the Stuffed Squash Blossoms which were delicious, perfectly fried, yet light and delicate. We returned a few nights later with friends and sat in the beautiful dining area. We started with the Sausage Pizza after seeing many other tables with pizzas. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. Friends loved the Crispy Skin Salmon, Vegan Burger and Hanger Steak. Our server talked me into the Mushroom Bolognese, a meatless dish, which was over-the-top amazing. It's served with homemade fettuccine and you'd swear it was made with meat. For dessert we had the Donuts which were wonderful. Overall the menu is a nice mix of appetizers, items to share, salads, pizzas and entrees. After dinner we went downstairs to Bo Peep, their Speakeasy / Piano bar which was a lot of fun.
Fun girls night out!
Good food and dishes elaborated
Maybe so much noise and little lightness.
A great food and a great experience.
Not to much expensive and good price-quality.
Recently in NYC for a long weekend and enjoyed dinner at the Rag Trader and can only compliment them for their service and accommodation. They seated us in a quiet comfy spot and greeted us with complimentary champagne because I indicated we were celebrating my husband's birthday when they asked the occasion. My husband is a bourbon lover and they have plenty to offer. From the drinks, to the food and the complimentary dessert...everything was perfect! Would love to visit again!
We LOVED our server. He was incredible. We will definitely be back again.
Hosts and waitstaff were so welcoming and doting. Excellent service. Food was yummy with lots of options depending on taste and appetite. Pinot Noir by the glass offering was lovely.
Planned husband’s 50th birthday there. Complimentary birthday Champagne was served to us when we arrived. Waiter was lovely. Menu very balanced with Italian dishes, seafood and burgers. All very tasty. Ambiance is wonderful and wasn’t noisy.
Servers and food was amazing. Drinks were made to perfection. The hostess was the only thing that I was not 100% comfortable with. When I asked a question she wasn’t giving a direct answer that could help me. It left me still confused on what needed to be done in my situation, Wether or not I should have cancelled or try to make it to the restaurant.
I would still go back and still recommend this place, but I'm very disappointed in my experience. The waiter did a terrible job of explaining how the bottomless brunch worked. It turns out that you cannot to bottomless brunch and get a brunch bowl. My meal ended up costing $145 more than it should have because of this mix up. They agreed to take a round of drinks off, but the meal was still $100 more than if we had only paid for the bottomless. They should do a better job of ensuring their customers know what they're paying for.
The food was excellent! I even went back on Sunday to try their pizza. The only problem with the service Friday night was it felt a little rushed in the beginning.
Excellent service and great location for a night out with friends.
GREAT mid-town spot for happy hour or dinner. Service is always amazing and the food/drinks are awesome.
The atmosphere is terrific! The service was also great. The food was ok. The pizza we had as an appetizer was very good but the main dishes were not what we expected. I think the place is awesome for drinks and appetizer type food. I would go again knowing this...
We enjoyed delicious appetizers at the bar. Great vibe and excellent service.
Food was delicious, loved the atmosphere and the hosts were very friendly
Food was decent. I thoroughly enjoyed my vegan burger. My dining companion had the branzino and said it was just meh. But my biggest critique is they sat us in a section near to the bar and it was SOOOO LOUD. we couldnt hear each other talk. Why would you have a section like that or if so, why dont you ask the guests if they wooud like a quiet area or near the bar. We had already sat down and gotten water and felt weird moving. But you really should ask the guests first instead of just sitting random people in the noisiest area of the restaurant.
Great location for us (walking distance from Penn Station). Cool atmosphere. Went for brunch with friends. Menu choices were good. Some of us went for small plates/starters and some went with full entrees. Food was good. Will definitely be back. I want to see the burlesque show in the evening!
One of my favorite places to eat.
The website says burlesque show 9-2am. When you get there they tell you it’s starts @ 10:30/10:45. Ok sat down to dinner at 9. Ordered a kale salad that wasn’t kale. Crispy salmon dish was pretty good. The drinks are very good also. When the burlesque show started 2 girls came out and did ONE song each. From 10:45-10:55. Then the hostess takes the mic and says they will be back in an hour! Wtf. Anyways, nice ambience, I ordered 2 food items. One was good, one wasn’t. Drinks were very good. Way too misleading @ the show.
Family trip. Adult kids
Family trip to NY. A great find! Totally enjoyable.
The manager is on top of things! Frances I think?
Fantastic find in the middle of town. Great burger and Mac and cheese. Fabulous bar and decor. Loved it.
Food was good. Drinks were good (some fun drinks to try) I didn’t realize it but apparently it has a burlesque show later in the evening. We didn’t stay for it but I heard it’s a good time. It’s got a cool vibe and I’ll return.
Cool venue, low-lighting and funky decor. Menu fairly limited but food good quality.
Rag Trader is awesome. Great food and drink. Friendly wait staff and bartenders. A very cool atmosphere as well. Just a great NYC place.
We went to The Rag Trader for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrive, two glasses of Prosecco were already on the table. Food and service were very good. Will definitely return.
Love the atmosphere and food.
So glad we found this place- now we try to go every time we visit NYC
Perfect place to celebrate something special or just have a nice bite to eat. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Excellent Saturday brunch at RagTrader! Loved the bottomless booze option. Burger was fantastic as was the BLT.
Met a friend here for dinner and cocktails. Service was good. Food is a little pricey for what you get but not too bad. Drink prices are reasonable. Will come back. Fun atmosphere. Came for the live music but there wasn’t any...?
loved the decor too - mussels were to die for and so was the cauliflower appetizer
Had diner at the rag trader. Was great mix of American food. Ribeye steak was tender and tasty. salad were fresh.
Moved after diner to the go peep for cocktails and drinks. Had live music show which was great fun
Design of the place is cool. Really liked the atmosphere
Great wait staff
Don’t go thinking it’ll be quiet
Dark / well themed
Cauliflower & Feta fritters are one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
