Great atmosphere and average food. The sausage pizza was very good though. Server kept just transparently recommending the most expensive items on the menu in each category (literally in order of price) which was annoying. I would come back for the downstairs bar though.
Really solid option in an area of the City that needs more places like this. Comfortable, pleasant ambience, varied menu, and food that is very good and realistically priced.
It was great. My friend has special dietary needs and the staff was so accommodating. I had the salmon with curry sauce and it was delicious!!
Nick was an amazing server! Atmosphere and food were both excellent. Would definitely eat here again.
It was decent and food was excellent, very busy night.
I wasn't that impressed with this restaurant overall. I was impressed by the decor and ambiance. It's definitely a place that is good for a date night, to grab a quick drink, etc. They definitely placed some effort into the decor. However, the food was in my opinion, mediocre and you don't get much food for the prices.
I also think that their drinks are weak. Not really overpriced but also, I felt like there was no alcohol in my drink, which was annoying. Also note that if you ask for them to do something for someone's birthday, what they do is put a candle into one of the desserts AND CHARGE YOU FOR IT. I figured that would at least be on the house but when I got the bill, I saw that they charged for it.
It's a nicely decked out place. Great ambiance and comfortable but the food, value, and service could be a little better. Our waiter was not that attentive and we were greeted with a "What's up?" upon entering. I wouldn't go back.
Great ambiance, good food and service. Right in mid-town so very convenient for MSG or Broadway show. The bars ( two levels ) are really nice.
Beautiful restaurant. Took my girlfriend on Valentine's day. She loved the decor, and the food simply amazing.
Brunch was amazing as were all the staff. The English breakfast was very filling and the homemade sausage was sooo good. Get the bottomless brunch drinks, it seems expensive but in the end it is worth it. The decor is very cool as well. We will be back.
Didn’t care for the R Kelley music that was being played. Have you seen the documentary. Hello..
Our server was attentive and helpful! The atmosphere and decor were spot on as well!
Best brussel sprouts ever!
Had a wonderful dining experience at Rag trader the food was outstanding highly recommend the brussels sprouts and the tuna tartare! Service was fantastic attentive and nice my kind a restaurant
Great food and atmosphere!
Great service and food! Amazing decor and set up.
Loved the ambience. Our waiter was very helpful and recommended a delicious drink (Red Dawn). The brussel sprouts were heavenly. Only disappointing part was the Salmon which was a little undercooked but otherwise the dish would have been perfect.
Great spot for brunch and cocktails at night before the burlesque show
Good food, great service and decor. We stopped in for soup and a sandwich on a freezing day and it was just what we hoped for!
Waiter was fantastic. Food was excellent. Ambiance was romantic and eclectic and fun. Would highly recommend to friends and will come back again
Visiting NY. Dinner with my daughter who lives there. Chose the Ragtrader due to location.
We had a charming seat towards the back with the vintage hat box and sewing spools. Fun selection of cocktails. Our service was warm, professional, courteous, efficient and not overbearing or stuffy.
Must try the Brussel sprouts small plate. Interesting combinations on the dishes which worked well. We were on the early side (6:30) of a week night so conversation was easy but I imagine the wood surround decor helps absorb noise levels.
Would definitely like to go back next time in town
It can be extremely difficult to find a gem in Midtown, but this place is great. We were there in the slow hours of a Monday afternoon but the service, drinks, and food were outstanding. Would love to go back for brunch or dinner.
Terrific ambience close to Madison Square Garden with exceptional cocktails and a great brunch.
Love this place!
When something went slightly wrong coming out of the kitchen, the staff and manager went above and beyond to make up for the experience and ensure that we had a lovely time. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. This is a great spot for pre-theater dinner and drinks. We loved it!
Food was unbelievable! We went for a birthday and they supplied us with a glass each of complimentary champagne at our table. Our waitress was a bit chatty but was timely and very helpful. I cannot boast the food enough. We ordered the sriracha deviled eggs, a pepperoni pizza, and the scallops plate and all perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Loved the laid back, yet slightly upscale vibe here. Perfect for meeting with friends for a fun dinner.
This is a hip and happen place so our group of 4 60 somethings fit right in. the service was good but the tables were really close so we felt like sardines in a can.
we shared the mussels which was good.
Excellent food but very high noise level. Difficult to conduct a quiet conversation.
Fun space. Good food and drinks. Friendly staff.
I visited the Ragtrader on a Sunday evening with my family (all adults), and was very pleased by the decor, the energy, and the ambiance which was that of a rustic, yet tasteful pub.
After having cocktails at the bar, which were quite good, we were shown to a comfortable table, where we were able to converse without raising our voices, and yet not overhear anyone else's conversations.
The food arrived promptly and everything was well prepared, well seasoned, and nicely plated. I particularly enjoyed the New York strip steak, and a cheese selection. I also enjoyed the gelato dessert.
I would definitely revisit the Ragtrader and recommend it to friends, but necessarily for young children.
Nice place! Crowded with a good mix of ages. Service was excellent along with the food. Fun to place to hang out, that is if you can find a bar stool or get a table. Fortunately the had a reservation, which was needed, even for a mid week dinner.
The place looks very nice and the food is excellent. The service is a bit aggressive though (interrupt you, eager to take your glass away before you finished drinking, etc.). Our waiter was very unhelpful when asked about wines and gave us attitude about asking for a suggestion.
We were there for a friend's bday for happy hour and light bites. Shawn was our server and was the best! He was extremely attentive and made great recommendations when asked. He made our experience awesome!
It was close to the office & the selection of food was outstanding.
Loved it. Food was great. Service better! Great atmosphere!!
It’s not bad
Great food and amazing atmosphere
Wonderful service and food. Will be going back ASAP.
2 sections of the restaurant, front bar section that’s loud and energetic and back restaurant section that’s more calm
Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. Space is very nice and quite large. Food is just ok. Service is friendly. Space is very loud. Good after work spot.
