Lovely meal, great atmosphere and the food was exceptional.
Service was very good.
Had the salmon which was beautiful!
Went to Rag Trader before a concert at MSG. We had 2 kids with us for dinner and they put us in a converted van upstairs which was fantastic!! Kept the littles entertained all evening. Service, drinks, food, all great. Will definitely go back!
Beautiful setting & awesome service and food!
Great overall dining experience. Service was thoughtful and attentive. The entire meal was outstanding. The cocktails were unique and delicious. Would highly recommend.
Good vibe in the restaurant. Enjoyed the pizza and other shareable items. Would recommend.
Our waitress was very nice and efficient. It was a busy night and she clearly had a lot of tables, but was able to get to us every time we needed her. The food and drinks were great, as was the ambiance. Really cool place and loved the decor!
Excellent bar scene and great new American options. Service was solid though we had to order all at once. Octopus a little rubbery but seasoned beautifully. Black rice with salmon very nice. The deviled eggs nothing special, but good.
Took forever to get waited on, once available was good at suggesting options but wasn’t proactive about checking on us.
What a find! In a desert of mediocre/touristy choices, this is an oasis. Terrific atmosphere, great food, fun wine and cocktail list. We loved our waiter, who was upbeat and friendly. Perfect for our girls' night out. I'd pick this for pre-theater, even though it's not right in the theater district - but, note that it is not kid-friendly.
We had a pescatarian among us, as well as someone who was gluten-free, and they accommodated all of our requests - without making us feel bad about making them.
The service was great. The spring greens salad was perfect and the pizzas - pepperoni and artichoke were among the best ever. We found out that the pizzas are very popular with good reason. The French Malbec from Cahors was perfect with the meal. Reasonable prices. Definitely worth a return visit and highly recommended.
Went here with a small group of work colleagues; we were given a private room off to the side of the stage. Our waitress was very friendly, chatty and helpful but our drinks and food took a long time to arrive. Overall the food was quite good although my pasta was rather bland. I highly recommend the flat-bread.
Prices are high, $20 cocktails (they have a massive collection of whiskeys) and expensive mains. Six of us, two-drinks each, shared starters and four deserts, was well over $600.
They have live music most nights and I believe that’s the main draw, along with the whiskeys. Although we did enjoy the music, it made conversation difficult. If you are looking for an intimate evening of quiet conversation, best pick a different place.
First timing dining here. (Visiting from toronto.) we picked this spot because it was very close to our hotel. I liked the vibe and decor. It was already busy at 615 pm on Friday evening. Our server was just “ok”. She wasn’t very friendly or helpful but she wasn’t outwardly rude or anything. The crispy skin salmon was very good. Portion size was decent and it was cooked perfectly. My husband also enjoyed his cheese burger. They were kind enough to give us a glass of sparking wine to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated in the upstairs section overlooking the rest of the restaurant so it was a bit more private. If you want to be in on the action request main floor but upstairs was nice too and had its own bar. I would return but hope to have another server.
My wife and I loved the whole atmosphere we love the food we love the service we loved everything about it the only negative we could ever say about it is the noise level was very high other than that it was a enjoyable atmosphere and enjoyable experience
A wonderful find in NYC ?? The pizza was outstanding and the place was jammmed
Great meal and ambiance. We waiting an hour for our 7:00 dinner reservation but the staff was friendly and the food was worth it
Seemed like a tourist trap. Placed us next to the kitchen and the food wasn’t good either. Crowd was very old
Ragtrader and the servers and staff (big shout out to Dia!) are just the best. Can’t love it enough!
We arrived in Manhattan on a rainy night after flying for 5+ hours and asked the hotel front desk for a nearby spot for dinner. Little did we know that this would become our favorite restaurant during our week in NYC. Built in an old garment factory, there are many whimsical decor pieces from decades of fashion history all around the restaurant.
They have a spectacular bar, a great menu and amazing service.
Our first dinner, Nick was our server. He has a great personality and gave us fabulous service and really great recommendations. We had tuna ta-tare, an artichoke and olive pizza and their oh so rich but delicious toffee pudding dessert. This was a lively place but it was around 8pm when we arrived so the noise level was not an issue.
We loved it so much that we returned 2 days later on a Friday evening. We arrived right in the middle of the after work crowd bar scene, and sat in the upstairs area. It definitely was loud up there but the room had great energy and quieted down by about 7pm. Upstairs our server was Dia. She was very sweet, attentive and also a wonderful server. We tried the salmon with black rice, which was delicious!
Reservations for dinner are really a must.
Definitely a memorable experience and if we lived closer we would be regulars there!
Blackened chicken was delicious with the Spring Mix salad!
Great Place! Highly recommended.
Absolutely charming atmosphere. The front of the house staff were all friendly and helpful. They do push their alcoholic brunch drinks a bit too hard, but other than that the service was lovely. The black rice bowl was delicious, and my friends also enjoyed the avocado toast and the smoked salmon eggs Benedict.
The ambiance and vibe of this place are great for dinner with friends or an early in the game date. The food was all phenomenal; the ceviche tacos and Brussels sprouts are must get. The burger was also delicious, but served slightly cold (still worth getting though!).
Excellent lunch, intimate place for a work lunch. Would come back.
Love the ambiance and vibe of this place. All the food was perfectly prepared. Can’t wait to go back.
Cute place! I really liked the decor and the service! The food was alright! Bothing super rememberable but it wasnt bad either.
Recommended by a friend for an after hours business meeting. Very nice, great selection of beers and drinks. Food was excellent and creative. Noise level was just right, not too loud so we could not hear the conversation, but enough ambient noise so others could not overhear the conversation. Well appointed and comfortable - highly recommend it.
Great food, great service, great decor and vibe
Our waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was an anniversary and they made our experience joyful. Everything we ordered was tasteful and they even brought us a free dessert 😊
Eggs Benedict were great, the french toast was great, the omelets were great, just don't get the chicken and waffles.
Great service. Food was delish. Went to Bo Peep afterwards.
I have mixed feelings about The Rag Trader. On one hand, the staff was really sweet, attentive, and accommodating, but the issues with the food (which is why you're there!) were troublesome.
Great service. Always considerate of time constraints.
Fun Manhattan restaurant. A bit loud but that is what you are there for the action. Fun decor. Staff were attentive. Food was good.
We really wanted to love this restaurant. The decor is cozy and interesting. The menu was good, and I ordered the soup of the day (roasted squash) and an artichoke olive pizza. My husband got a Caesar Salad. The soup was quite good, the pizza was ok and the Caesar salad was beyond boring (and overpriced terribly). The service was just okay. No black pepper offered for the salad and all the food came out at one time. Total experience was just average
great , perfect spot lunch or dinner , make sure you try the brussel sproats and grilled cheese
The ambiance is great: subdued lighting and low noise levels. The food was very good and well priced. The service was prompt and courteous but the server seemed a little aloof. Other than that, my spouse and I agreed that overall: 7.5/10.
Great spot for drinks or a quick meal close to msg
The atmosphere is really nice - decorated with artifacts from the garment district. Went there for brunch. Perfectly fine- nothing special and pricey. $9 for four very thin slices of Challah bread with some clotted cream and jam. $16 for a pretty basic omelet.
The manager did stop by but the server was not friendly at all. They seemed rushed to clear our plates before we were finished even though there were only a few other customers.
Posto carino, personale gentile e sorridente. Cibo non all'altezza. Cocktail servito nel bicchiere sbagliato, e non indimenticabile. Prezzi sopra la media dei locali della stessa fascia nella medesima zona.
Christine was amazing at the upstairs bar and the food and drinks were very good!
