The setting and the food was excellent, but certain choices on the menu were a little bit steep. The quality and portions were excellent, and the staff were friendly.

This is a lovely country pub with an excellent menu. We were asked if we were attending for a special occasion and it was my husband’s birthday so advised them of this. We had a small chalk board on the table saying happy birthday. Most restaurants offer the birthday person a free drink or something so that was a little disappointing. I think that gesture would have gone down very well. The food arrived very quickly and the main courses were delicious. The starters I felt were a little lacking. Priced at around £7-8. I had one mushroom sliced up in bread crumbs with rocket. Didn’t feel this was worth the money. The staff were friendly and attentive and we gladly paid the service charge. Overall lovely evening and meal out in a nice setting.

Absolutely fabulous food - everything cooked to perfection and with generous portions. Really pretty inside without being too pretentious. Waiting staff were really lovely. I took my daughter as a birthday treat, and now I am taking other family members in a few days!

From the moment I booked staff went out of there way. No problem with increasing table from 5 to 9 people. Service was great, lovely friendly staff - making sure we all had drinks, taking orders, blocking out the sun as my friend was blinded at the table,bringing out cake and knife and plates so we could serve a cake we’d brought.
