We dined at the Quay in the first location after it opened and had a great experience. This time we tried the new water front location and we expected great things but we were very disappointed. The tasting menu was the exact same one we had before but we were happy to have it again because it was done so well. This time something was very off. We started off with a nice cocktail-which was done well but struggled to find a good bottle of wine or even glasses of wine we liked. The first course-supposedly cooked on a hot stone-came out just 6 small meat slices on a plate-no stone. Odd. And it went downhill from there. Sauces were off. Fish courses were way over cooked. Second steak course was okay. Dessert was okay. Meal is too expensive to have so many missteps. Probably will not try again.

If you're seeking an elevated dining experience in McKinney, Texas, DON'T go to The Quay. We ordered their Signature Tasting Menu. The restaurant has so much potential purely based upon its location that's set against the picturesque backdrop of Adriatica Village and the waterfront. The music playing was more of a techno-club experience vs. a fine dining experience. The only good thing about our experience was the view and sitting near the window. We paid $109 EACH for the non-vegetarian 7-course tasting menu. It started with what was supposed to be Hot Stone A5 Wagyu which claimed to be cooked tableside on a hot stone. That definitely didn't happen...in fact, it came out on a cold white plate with three 1"×2" thin sliced pieces for each of us. While it had flavor, the portion size was truly insulting. Next came the Ruby Beet Chèvre salad which had candied walnuts, one tiny cooked grape tomato, and beet-tinted fried goat cheese. Each of us had 3 that were spread out to look like more. There were also no microgreens as claimed on the menu. Next came the chicken schnitzel (6 mini pieces) with mushroom sauce. My husband felt it looked pre-made. It had a side of a cooked orange carrot and cooked purple carrot. After the schnitzel, came the Japanese A5 4 Season Wagyu and boy was that a total let down. We should have known the red flags as our waitress took our order as she never asked how we wanted it cooked. If you've ever had TRUE Wagyu (which we are pretty sure this was not), you know it's typically served medium rare and medium at the most. We had to tell the waitress we wanted medium rare and she said, "Oh...we usually do medium well." The 3"×2" "A5 Wagyu" definitely came out medium-well and was full of grit. Next came the shrimp risotto. That was okay. The rice was extremely heavy and not fluffy like a typical risotto. The worst part...the shrimp tails were STILL ON the shrimp...if you want to read more, go see my Google review.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The menu is overpriced, portions are disappointingly small, and the restaurant is clearly understaffed — resulting in slow and inattentive service. Definitely not worth the price.

My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. We waited 10 minutes at the hostess table before getting sat with only 4 other tables being occupied. We both ordered the tasting menu and the food was way overpriced for what you got and overcooked. It took 2 hours to get through the tasting menu as we waited 20 minutes between courses. Even the dessert took 20 minutes to get even though it was premade. Happy anniversary was misspelled which we thought was comical and fitting for our experience. There were only 3-5 other tables there at the same time as us (10-15% full on a Saturday night) and our waitress was taking care of all tables. The table next to us also received an happy anniversary dessert even though they were there to celebrate their birthday. Again, food was not very good as the wagyu was very chewy and almost not eatable. We ended up spending $350+ for two people and went to get food after. This venue location has so much potential but until the service and food gets much better dodge it at all costs. Would give it a 0/5 rating if possible.

Great patio. We ordered the sea bass. It was good but very small portions. We left hungry. McKinney is not the place for a restaurant like this. Limited menu. Won’t be back.

Came here for a girls dinner. From IG and reels seen; I was expecting a one of a kind fine dining experience. It was everything but that. This is not fine dining, nothing I ate was memorable. Some things were edible but not worth the price tag. We did a $108 taste testing, and also added an extra appetizer and a mocktail. It was not worth the bill. The best thing was the $15 mocktail and it was basically juice. Presentation was beautiful but taste was underwhelming. Some dishes were cold that were supposed to be hot, one dish was over cooked and mushy, another was slightly burnt with the breading, some things tasted like they were pre packaged or out of a can. Service wasn’t fine dining service. Definitely would not recommend coming here. Maybe to have drinks, but not to eat. It’s unfortunate because the location and view is great.

Great dinning experience was outstanding in all repects. We sat outside until it got cold and then moved inside... views of the lake and park were an added plus. I had the teasting menu and high price tag was well worth it. Each of the 7 or 8 courses were devine (a lot of food). My wife had the chicken schnitzel and was also outstanding and done ery differently. Love the spring roles as an appy... best ever.

Food wasn’t good for us. The a5 beef was cold and boiled. The fish was also subpar. We came there cos we wanted to see the Adriatic and surroundings
