The food came cold and was not prepared as requested when ordered.
The server was not as attentive as I would have liked him to have been the beverage glasses were empty considering the fact I paid for bottomless drinks!!!
The patio was very nice as always. This was our first time dining here since the pandemic and the service has gone down tremendously. Our waiter was Nicole who had to be waved down for everything including a straw repeatedly.
We ordered a cocktail but they were out of it and no one bother to tell us. After waiting a hour we went to the bar to cancel it and have them make something else.
The crab cakes were the worst by far we’ve ever had coming from Maryland.
So did returned those to the kitchen. Once the check came the crab cakes had been removed but the cocktail we never received had not and Nicole never returned to our table.
As the shifts changed we ended up a with a server named Ross he went above and beyond to fix it 😊
Unfortunately we the find out they do a tip pool which seems unfair since Ross did all the work!? We will not be returning to the Pump House... we will stick with the Charlotte side 😢
Great service! Beautiful atmosphere! Delicious food!
We were seated right next the server’s entrance which was slightly disturbing but other than that it was lovely.
A little expensive but good for a special occasion
Ross is an awesome server & bar tender!
Good food, great water views, nice friendly service, interesting historic 1940's Pump Station uniquely repurposed into this waterfront restaurant. It can't be beat! 3rd floor is dining area and 5th floor, the roof top, is the bar and additional dining tables with a fireplace.
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating my son's birthday. Being able to sit on the patio overlooking the river was a plus, especially for my 3 year old grandson. The food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend The Pump House for celebrations and when you want to enjoy nature while you have an excellent meal.
It is more upscale than it's pedestrian name leads you to believe. The service was very friendly and engaging but like most places these days understaffed and stretched thin so a little slow. Food was delicious, but I expected a little more nuanced and skilled presentation based on the menu prices. The ambience is beautiful inside or out, but I recommend outside sitting by the river.
I know sometime it can't be helped but when I'm paying high end prices for food I shouldn't have to swat flys every two seconds in doors. I feel that's something they need to work on. Overall food and service was great.
Excellent service! Prior to my arrival I received a phone call from a member of your team, regarding issues with the elevator. I knew then my experience was going to be grand. Compliments to the chef on the pumpkin bisque and the calamari! Looking forward to seeing you soon!
1 - We both have had our hip replaced and was forced to climb the stairs to level 3 because the elevator was out. No one called us until we were there in the parking lot and our option was to cancel our reservation after driving 1 hr through the traffic to get there. The waiter told us the elevator had been for at least 30 minutes. We were not compensated in any way for this in-convince. Then my wife’s salad was not what she ordered and she had to wait for it while I ate. We have been to The Pump House many times but it is not as good a value as it once was.
Beautiful view of the Catawba River, excellent food and service. The patio dining is spectacular!
Great place for brunch! Experience has been consistent with all of our visits to The Pump House. The value is there for what you pay. We have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommend!
Went for mine and my wife’s anniversary and it was a great experience. We took our 16 year old daughter with us and she had a great time as well. Our host was amazing as well as the food.
Good food, slow service, cold entree
Service was excellent from the host to the server
And the food was delicious the waiter recommended fried green tomatoes as a starter and my entree was salmon cooked perfectly It was an all around great experience. The outdoor dining was cozy and the back drop of the River was magical. I would recommend this location to family & friends .
It seems pricey at first but the amount of food you receive for the price is outstanding and The quality of said food is amazing. The service was some of the best I’ve ever had. Never once had to flag down our waitstaff. On the other hand they also weren’t constantly hovering and interrupting our meal either. They were perfect. Took a friend here for her birthday, they did give her a free dessert, it was a chocolate torte, the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. I can’t recommend this place enough for the food and the service. I will say if you want to have patio seating you absolutely need to make a reservation to make sure you can get seated there, we made a reservation because we wanted our friends birthday to be special. If you don’t care about seating a reservation isn’t necessary. 10/10
This is my fourth visit. The food was delicious and service was awesome.
The main courses were excellent, the sides were underwhelming, and the dessert was good but short of spectacular. Our waiter was very personable and enjoyable, but we did wait longer than ideal for some things to arrive. Overall, good, but poor value for money.
very expensive for just good food not great and limited choices
Have enjoyed more in the past. Love the location. Food was mediocre overall.
Delicious food with excellent service. Sitting on the patio was a nice treat on a beautiful evening.
My server Ryan was awesome great service great food definitely worth the experience and money
Excellent service, food, and staff personalization (anniversary) !
Everything was great as usual, from greeting from Hostess to our bartender/server. The food was delicious and live music on top floor was a pleasant surprise.
The food was excellent! The service was excellent! Loved celebrating my birthday at the Pump House!
We were seated on the patio as requested and it was very pleasant. The service and food were outstanding and the presentation beautiful. Our compliments to the chef and staff.
Lobster, shrimp and Calamari was over salted, the crab cakes where burnt and not much to talk about over blended no taste of crab. The Sword fish was dry and Ribeye was dry like it sat to long before serving. The Martini was pretty dull nothing really exceeded but the view. The beer and fries where good and I would not drop 300 dollars again for average food.
George was our waiter and amazing with our large party. The food and service were amazing.
Food was amazing! The staff and experience was well worth the drive from Concord. I loved everything about this dining experience, will definitely be going back 😊
The menu was not great for the brunch lunch hours. The crab cakes had some shells it and was a little bland.
