The Pump House is a multi-level, riverfront restaurant featuring two bars, including a rooftop bar, all with sweeping views of the beautiful Catawba river. Situated in the new Riverwalk development, the Pump House is an upscale, gourmet restaurant with a casual but elegant atmosphere. It was at one time an actual pump house which was used by an acetate plant. We have repurposed the building to create a one-of-a-kind restaurant featuring gourmet, southern-inspired cuisine, a hand-picked wine list, and craft cocktails. We hope to serve you soon!

Fantastic atmosphere with food to match. The 3rd floor has a small bar with indoor and outdoor dining. The rooftop bar on the 5th floor has great views a bigger bar and inside and outside dining. The staff was very friendly and professional. The team work is impressive to watch.

My sister and I had a great lunch overlooking the Catawba River. Zachary was a wonderful server and we both enjoyed the complimentary cornbread muffins to start followed by Shrimp and Grits. Our only complaint is that for the money the liquor pours are on the skimpy side. Thanks for another great meal

This was my wife and I’s first visit. Flavor of the food was great. Service was great. Unfortunately the food was cold and only advised the manager as didn’t any to send back or anything because others in my dinner party would have their food turn cold. Will give the Pump house another chance as I was happy with everything else and chalk the food temperature to extenuating circumstances.

Food was delicious we had the crab cakes, chicken and filet mignon. Everyone was nice and friendly. I was celebrating my birthday and they gave me a chocolate cake for dessert, it was a bit hard, but the thought was nice! Server was great and ambiance was beautiful near the fire place. Love it!!

Beautiful location, server was very friendly and helpful, food was subpar, especially for the prices they charge. Some of our food items had to be deducted from the bill because they were so bad. If we go back, it will be for drinks on the patio for the view only.

Ordered Steak Frite Au Poive was served 3 chunks of very tough ‘meat’ no steak knife and very greasy fries. Took two bites of meat, waitress never noticed my meal went uneaten. One of my companions sent her salad back to be remade, which was done with no apology. Won’t be back here. Nice setting but that is all.

Tried the Pump House for my husband birthday. We loved it! A very unique location, in an old pump house on the Catawba. We ate on the enclosed patio overlooking the river. The service and food were fantastic. And we loved the top story bar. We will definitely be back!

We love dining at Pump house and have been there several times before. However, this was our very first Sunday brunch and for the first time we were seated on the 5th floor indoors. Very pleasant experience as usual, the food is delicious, the bread muffins with butter are melting in your mouth, the service is friendly and a great view through the floor to ceiling glass wall is a cherry on top. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in the area.

We always appreciate the attention to detail at The Pump House. Excellent food, drinks, & service in a lovely setting. Try the fried okra, it’s delicious! Especially loved moving to the fireplace to finish our drinks and linger a bit after our meal.

Reservations for 5 for a small birthday celebration. Our service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal. The fried okra appetizer was fantastic! If I had a complaint, it would be that it is loud and table talk was difficult. Other than that, it was a wonderful dining experience!

We were taken to the 5th floor and seated in the bar area at the smallest table they had. There were only two of us but the next two patrons with two were seated at larger tables. Guess the small table must have been reserved for seniors.

Beautiful view table, engaging but slightly flummoxed server, above average food with some exceptions. The pork chop was VERY difficult to cut & chew. Two people ordered it and had the same experience. The Coca Cola cherry chocolate cake was dry . The cheesecake was thin , uninteresting squares. The cocktails were excellent and were generous with the alcohol!

Without asking, my wife and I were seated "outside" in a dimly-lit, plastic-covered porch area. There was a space heater above, which could not be adjusted. Above our table was a yellow-brown-ish, stained dome light that reminded me of a failing street light in a bad movie. Fortunately our very gracious host seated us inside, which was a vast improvement. My wife and I shared appetizers - fried green tomatoes and crab cakes. The tomatoes were completely obscured by a gloopy, sweet, gelatinous sauce. The crab cakes were dark and mostly bread, with a chalky texture. Our mains were both specials, which consisted of a vastly overcooked piece of mahi mahi on a bed of what appeared to be spinach-artichoke dip swimming in a tomato broth...all capped with an overcooked lobster tail smeared with some type of crabby bready paste. My lobster tail seemed inextricably attached to its shell, and, upon freeing it, noticed that the entire underside of the tail was covered in a black film....as if it had been subjected to the Exxon Valdez oil spill. My wife have an idea of fine dining as we travel to Manhattan frequently and have recently eaten at Le Bernardin, Ai Fiori, and Scarpetta, to name a few. Our experience at the Pump house was the polar opposite. On the bright side, our server, Jackie was great, as was our host.

What an excellent place to dine. The service and the views were amazing. We had a large party and we ordered Brussel sprouts, shrimp bisque, fried green tomatoes, calamari, mashed potatoes, red fish, shrimp/grits, pork chops, and chicken. All the food was incredible. Our waiter, Dillon was very attentive and so present for us. We were celebrating my sisters birthday and it was definitely the best place we could have selected. You will not be disappointed!

Often choose Pump House for special occasions, like this for 40th anniversary. Calamari recipe improved over last time. First time seated on 4th floor, nicely smaller and quieter. Food quality is still excellent. Service from Emily was timely and attentive. Still amazed at how the runners use the stairs to shuttle dishes. Nice choice of wines. The petite fillet I had was like "butter", so tender and perfectly cooked. Wife had halibut with nicely seasoned cheesy risotto. Lava cake she had was great. We'll be back again for the next special occasion.

We have been there several times. We come for every special occasion, and often bring family and friends. We ordered 2 ribeye, asparagus, mashed pot and a wedge salad. The 1st steaks that came out were more than well done. They brought me a new one. I ended up giving most of it to my husband. We paid over 200$ to basically share a steak. Very disappointed
