First time there and will definately be back. Wonderful menu and they have done a marvelous job restoring the building.
Great food and service. We sat out in the deck with a beautiful view of the river. I had the chicken and waffles and my husband had the shrimp and sausage omelet. Both meals were excellent. We anticipate becoming repeat customers.
We had a great dinner and Philip did a wonderful job taking care of us.... would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed our meal here the other night! Was cery satisfied with the appetizers and meals. Drinks were awesome and service was fantastic! Will be back!
Great service and Philip our waiter was great.
Food was good and very pretty restaurant
Appetizer was a disappointment (fried green tomatoes); soup was served at room temperature so the entire bowl was wasted - which was half my dinner to go with the wedge salad. The view and the ambiance is the only thing that we enjoyed. Quite disappointed after hearing all the hype.
I have been to The Pump House several times. I really enjoy the view and the ambiance. The service has always been excellent. The only two drawbacks are small portions and it is rather noisy and difficult to have a conversation across the table. The food is excellent, but the last two times I have been the portions were small.
Our seating request through Open Table on your web site was not honored. Requested a window seat but hostess tried to place us next to wait staff opening. Ordered a beer which took a while to arrive due to “bartender being backed up” really?!
Great waiter, Paul!
Waitress was amazing food tasted great. We will be back. That is a fact!
Great food, great service, great view of the Catawba River!
This was my first time every going to pump house but I will truly be back again
We selected the Pump House to take our graduation party and wanted to go give it a trial run for a Saturday night dinner. We loved it. The building and view are fantastic. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was stellar. Loved it!
Cocktails and scenery were fun. Menu and food were just eh. Nice folks working. Great service.
Service was impeccable. From every server and manager to the hostess-the service was great! We had the fried green tomatoes and thought they had too much stuff on them. I was hoping for a crispy slice of tomato with a side of sauce, the cheese was a bit too much for my liking. Even half of the melted cheese would have been better. They were good, but I wouldn't order again. I order the soup of the day which I was super excited about b/c I had had it before as the mushroom soup was to die for!! It was still tasty, but it arrived luke warm. Our server Mike and the manager offered to replace it right away, but I decided to just take it home for later. I would love to see a plain noodle or plain cheese pizza option on the kids menu as my daughter is still not even into nuggets or fingers. They did make a noodle dish for her, but was sooooooooooo saturated in oil, we decided against eating it. They were very accommodating to our request, but the oil was just overwhelming on the dish. I also ordered the wedge salad which was a very, very nice size salad-almost enough for 2 people to split. It was delish and I would order that again. My husband loved his Caesar salad w/ anchovies! The side of fries were delish and a nice amount. We also order the shrimp cocktail-the shrimp were a nice size, the display was very pretty and I loved how they spooned the cocktail AND horseradish on the plate! yum!
I will definitely come back! We sat outside upstairs and the view of the river was beautiful. We celebrated my birthday as a small family and they sent a delicious piece of Cheerwine chocolate flourless cake with a marmalade dollop on top! It was a very nice experience, service was excellent, view was great! I would recommend a visit!
This was our first time at the Pump House. Service was great, food was awesome.
As with most restaurants these days acoustics are not great. My husband had difficulty hearing.
The Pump House served as a great venue for a birthday with my wife. They offer an excellent wine list and both public and private dining venues. The wait staff was very attentive and the food better than expected. My wife enjoyed the beef rib and I found the French Onion soup special.
Creative place to dine. Good ambiance. I’m an excellent cook, so when I dine out for $42+ my expectations are high. I had the elk chop over risotto. Elk was cooked perfectly with generous portion. The risotto was okay. Wine selection was interesting and well rounded. I will recommend and enjoy again.
I was a bit disappointed as my Open Table reservation was for 7:30 (got 2 emails confirming it). When we got to the restaurant they told me the reservation was for 7:15 and we'd have to wait to get a table. Somehow the Pump House must have changed the time (without telling me as I got an email at 7:22 saying "sorry to have missed you"). Finally seated around 7:45, but outside rather than inside which we would have preferred as it was a very humid day.
Food was delicious - all 4 of us enjoyed our meal. Our server, Victoria, was great!.
Headed upstairs to the rooftop bar, but sadly were not able to sit outside - the bugs were everywhere!! Sat inside - nice bar.
We were happy with the meal overall.
Absolutely amazing (everything). We can not wait to return.
Great menu. Great service. Great views.
Very great service and food delivery
Although every hing was good, I thought it was a little too pricey.
This was my first time at The Pump House, and I enjoyed everything. I will be back again!
The Pump House is my Happy Place. We were there for dinner on Mother's Day. I just lost my mother 3 months ago and my friend lost her mother 4 years ago so this is where we celebrated our mothers' being in a better place. It couldn't have been better!
Great place to celebrate Mother's Day! We were impressed with the entire restuarant! The staff was efficient, friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to watch people kayak and tube down the catawba river while we ate!
Apparently Mother’s Day Brunch was extremely overbooked. Had to wait over an hour and a half for food. (However, our entrees were very good, as always.)Terribly understaffed for the amount of people....won’t do special occasions again.
Loved the Pump House in the past, but not this visit. They were not prepared for their Mother’s Day crowd; they overbooked reservations; service was slow; forced menu did not have enough options and was pricey; fans on “porch” are angled in a way that is ineffective. Our lunch took almost 3 hours, and we received wrong food or beverage items 4 times! Will return, but not for a holiday celebration. Very disappointing to all 4 members in our party.
Mothers Day - a busy restaurant day & a very special occasion to enjoy dining out with the family. Unfortunately the Pump House was a disappointment. Although the food was exceptional, creative & tasty, we had poor service that nearly ruined the experience. We had a reservation & arrived early, placing our order at 11:30 am. An hour later our entree still wasn’t served & when we inquired with our server, she was very rude and didn’t offer to check with the kitchen. Since we had a toddler with us, the wait was very challenging! We then sought help from manager & that seemed to help but the whole experience took two hours and was stressful! Too bad! The food was delicious! But we won’t be back for a special occasion nor can we recommend Pump House to friends.
Mother’s Day Brunch was great ! Alan did a great job taking care of ev
It was dry busy due to proms and Mothers Day. The kitchen was really backed up and food was slow to come out. I think it was reflected in the presentation of the food. However, our server, Clarissa, was amazing.
We had amazing service from the moment we walked in the door. We had mentioned it was our one year anniversary when we made the reservations on Open Table, but didn't expect anything other than someone congratulating us. They surprised us when we sat down with complementary champagne and then with a yummy complementary desert at the end of our meal. The servers were nice, friendly and efficient. The food was incredible too! I had the pan seared tuna - haven't had anything that good in a long time. We highly recommend the Pump House!!!
Service continues to be very poor. Plan to wait even after seated and spend time waiting for your orde to be filled.
The Pump House was absolutely outstanding! The food was great with such good flavors and the view was breath taking
This was our second visit and we were not disappointed again. We did early Mother’s Day as we were unable to get a reservation for that day. We sat out on the enclosed patio, a little warm but not uncomfortable. We enjoyed the kayakers. Our server Brooke was very well trained on the menu items, and very attentive. We would love to be her table again! The food was delicious, especially the dessert.
Food and service were excellent. We made early reservations on a Saturday night so got right in. When we were leaving it was very busy and a lot of people were waiting. Food presentation was excellent and tasty. Their sauces were very very tasty...could have used a little bit more for the grits. It was a bit pricey for the amount of food but we would go again.
My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant - went for his birthday; service was good, food was delicious and the setting was nice! Give this restaurant a try! We'll definitely return and we will recommend to others
Great atmosphere, great service, great food! I can't wait to go back!
We took my mom here for mother's day and it was outstanding. The view was great, the service was attentive, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back!
We were celebrating our 17th Wedding Anniversary. It’s was a great experience! Our waiter Mike did an outstanding job! And thank you so much for our Free Anniversary dessert!
