The Pub by Wegmans Shortpump
We had never been to The Pub but went with friends who had. The hostess was nice and seated us immediately. She pushed two tables for two together to accommodate us. We had $5 off coupons (order $20 or more). When the waitress arrived with menus we told her we had the coupons and needed separate checks. She said they were per table, not per check. We jokingly said 'well these are two tables because they were pushed together' but she wouldn't budge so we separated the tables. She still wasn't moved and left; she came back later and said 'ok for this time'. She was not very nice after that. There were people at the counter and the TV was on so it was noisy and we had to talk pretty loudly to hear each other. Our friends had the club sandwich and the French dip. The French dip was good but the club sandwich fell apart; the bread was barely toasted. We had the crab cakes and a hamburger. The crab cakes were overdone (the crust was almost burnt) and very skimpy on the crab despite the $20 price. It came with a small salad that had way too much salad dressing on it. The faro that it came with was tasteless but was supposed to be infused with garlic. The hamburger was also overdone. When the checks came, the waitress took our coupons and crumpled them up in her hand. We both paid with cash, including enough for separate tips without having to return with change. The waitress did not say 'good night' or 'thank you'. We would not return because the food was overpriced and not very good.
Excellent brunch with my husband before groceries. We highly recommend doing on a Sunday before shopping. Service is excellent and food is fresh and tasty. Not our first tine here and we keep coming back.
Thanks Wegmans 😊
The staff had a corner table reserved for the three of us with my name on a handwritten table sign. The staff was warm and friendly and familiar with our needs. Best to go there early to take advantage of the Happy Hour prices for light meals.
We made a last minute decision to eat here and it was a good one. We shared 2 appetizers and salads and. Glass of wine. The shrimp were large and tasty and the chicken quesadilla were excellent. We also had the house Pinot Grigio and it was very good. The entire lunch was under $40 with two, a great value.
We have eaten here many times. Tonight was not their best. Our server was slow, but she was also the bar tender, so she had too many customers to take care of the way they should be.
Our food was good, but we got salad as one of our veggie choices and wanted it before our meal, but it all came at once.
When we got our bill the server passed by our table many times and we finally had to take it to the bar and ask to pay.
Not our usual experience at The Pub but they might need to get a separate bar tender so the tables by the bar can be server well.
It’s nice when you are a regular. We were given a corner table for privacy. What surprised us was my name card reserving our table. Surprise surprise!
Good food but could have been hotter when it reached our table.
great experience, food was good.
Wonderful atmosphere with great drinks food and service.
Excellent lunch before food shopping. Service was great and food delicious. Highly recommend before you shop. We will be returning. Thanks 😊
Good food and good service!
Cordial service, although somewhat slow and uneven. Kitchen totally over cooked the salmon.
We took advantage of The Pub’s new Tuesday’s and Wednedag’s Special all you can eat fried chicken w/2 sides for $10. Except for fact that the chicken tasted precooked causing the breast to be dry and chest, the dark meat thigh and leg were almost perfect. Try it out!
It’s a so so place inside of Wegmans. Relax your expectations. Solid, but not spectacular. It’s a decent option for a night out.
Great pub b/f food shopping. Great fresh food and delicious meals. Highly recommend.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
This was my fourth trip to Wegmans pub. It was my second trip to have the whole lobster with two sides. It is a bargain and so delicious. The appetizers were half price as we were there for happy hour ahead of dinner. The beer selection was also exceptional.
We sat in a small booth in a cupola with another couple this time. It made it so easy to converse. No background noise with which to contend.
Overall it was a good experience.
The oysters were over-breaded and over-cooked. Lobster tail was over cooked. Have eaten here before, and food was great, but not this time. Kind of surprising for an oyster week theme.
Very good food - fresh, well prepared. Service was just ok but I think we were there at either aa lunch break for the staff or a shift change. Great value.
Last time it was wonderful. This time not that great. Started with one sever then another and last a third. We must have been at a shift change. The burger was still good but not as good as the first time we ate there. The burger was also much smaller this time. And the salad was given too much dressing. The server offered to get me a new one but I didn’t bother. There was a pool of dressing in the bottom. I’ll remember to have it on the side next time. Also the first time the salad had some olives on it but not this time.
Great food and great price
The two seafood dishes we got were outstanding! We will be back!
Had a really great hamburger. Salad was wonderful. Everything was incredibly fresh. We’ve eaten there before and each time the food was good.
The Pub is a nice place to go eat when you just want a break from cooking at home. The servers are very nice and accommodating. The menu offers plenty of choices and every item we have ordered, past and present, was well prepared and tasty. We usually make reservations, but aside from weekends, tables are usually available with little waiting.
We went for the special Clam Bake - it was awesome! Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We did add the lobster tail but it's plenty of food without it. I would highly recommend!
The clam bake was a disappointment. Very little broth, mussels were small, not plump. A half piece of corn was cut into thirds. Also, Wegmans is a grocery store and we asked for butter for the bread and they didn’t have any! A little strange for a pub located inside a grocery store. The draft beer arrived and was hot. A mature, responsible bartender should always check the equipment before the start of a shift. I love Wegmans cold & hot bars!!
Everyone from the Hostess, Tammy, to our waitress, Brittany were so gracious, attentive, friendly and accommodating. I could tell they were unusual people as well as well trained. Having managed large motel/restaurant complexes, I would have been thrilled to have such attentive and talented people.
The crab cakes were absolutely delicious. I have spent more and couldn't eat them!!
Great experience, delicious food and have been raving to everyone since!
We didn't realize this was a restaurant inside a Wegman's grocery store (we're not from this region of the country) so the location was a little peculiar to us - although that is more on us than anything else. The food was really good - kids meals, fish, chicken, and beef were had by those at the table and across the board the consensus was the food was well done. The biggest complaint had to be the service. It really was not very busy when we were there for an early dinner and I had to go to the bar myself twice for an extra set of silverware and an extra plate because our waitress forgot and/or didn't check on us. I will note that the manager must have realized something was off about our service because I never filed a complaint but she came over and gave us a dessert on the house and took the kids meals off the tab. I'd certainly try it again if I were in the area because the food was good and I have a feeling that the poor service was not typical.
One of the things that should be on the above list is that the food is dependably good. Very good. We went to celebrate my birthday - I had a lobster & my husband had the fish tacos which I like too. Ambiance is not the strong point - after all, it IS a grocery store - but there were no kids that evening & after eating, HEY! - we did our grocery shopping! So, that's one of Wegmans's attractions.
Excellent as always. Service superior; Food absolutely perfect. Met friends there who had never visited The Pub and they were quite impressed with menu as well as pricing. Thanks again for an enjoyable visit.
Good burgers & fries! Nice beers on tap. Convenient for a meal.
The Pub is a great place to eat when you just don't feel like cooking and just want to relax and order a nice, reasonably priced meal. We made reservations as the restaurant gets filled up quickly around 7 pm, which is when we like to eat. Service and food were good as usual, which is something we have grown accustomed to. Th Pub is just a nice place to go and if you need to do some grocery shopping, then you won't have to walk very far.
Have eaten before but food is always good. Make excellent hamburgers and cooked to order that makes it even nicer.
Table wasn’t ready at reservation time eventhough it were several tables available and the place was not busy!
We had a very nice lunch at Wegman’s Short Pump location. Very friendly staff and very good sandwiches. We both had burgers, mine was a cheeseburger. Sides were salads and they were fresh and large. Reasonable prices and very good food.
Outstanding as usual
We held a business meeting with 6 people and they were very attentive and accommodating!
Our group was very impressed with Wegmans and the staff. Food selections are fantastic!
Truffle fries were disappointing- bland, service was good but room for improvement, overall atmosphere and food was good. The Table #20 was the best for a celebration luncheon. It has a private feel to the enclosures.
