                                                                                                      The pub was shut and had been since the 23.1.20 but nothing on their website or on the windows explaining that it was shut. So we turned up and it was shut.

                                                                                                      This place has gone bankrupt and closed. Didn’t find that out until we turned up for our meal as Opentable were still taking bookings. Assume the pub owners didn’t think to let them know.

                                                                                                      The pub was closed for 'safety reasons' with a notice dated 23.01.20 so we had no dinner! I did query with Open Table the fact that no dining times were displayed on the PG website but assured the venue was still 'live' on the system. I may check out the Prince George again to see if it reopens but I have no confidence in booking via Open Table again. The Prince George is local to my home but I would have been furious if the same thing had happened if I had travelled a distance to get to the venue. Pull your socks up Open Table!

                                                                                                      On arriving at Prince George we found the place had closed down!! No notification or prior warning. Previous booking the previous Friday was cancelled after being accepted too.

                                                                                                      Fantastic staff but our food was not good at all. Order was 2 roast turkey dinners, fish and chips (which my daughter did enjoy) and a gammon steak with parsley sauce. We got stale potatoes which were like they had been cooked, gone cold or frozen then recooked again, waxy and almost disintegrated inside. One meal ordered was gammon steak with parsley sauce, was brought a roast turkey dinner and when explained should be gammon, they just removed the turkey and pigs in blankets and slapped a gammon steak on and a couple of pieces of parley on same plate, no parsley sauce in sight. The carrots were rock hard and unappetising. The desserts were better. Service was very good though and I'll put it down as to being very busy as it was full but I wouldn't return.
