My "house" margarita was unexceptional & weak.
Service was pretty good until our waiter forgot about us towards the end of our meal. (Had to flag down another waiter for a water refill.)
Food was no better than your average Americanized Mexican food restaurant.
The hostess was very accommodating, however.

Trying this place out for lunch. We had the best server, Sergio. Thank you for everything. He was attentive and so helpful in ordering. You made our lunch a delight! The beef enchiladas was a bit on the salty side...but my girl friend's seared ahi tuna salad was good.

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. I was very disappointed since I heard the food was good and service was good as well. The hostesses (there were 2 at the front) sat us, a table of 6, at a table and didn't bring menus. We waited 10 minutes for menus even though we asked multiple servers who walked by as well as reminding the hostesses who sat us and when we finally did get them, they acted like it was an inconvenience to bring them over... it took our server 30 minutes to process any type of request: drink and food order, and was barely seen for the 2 hours we we there. The food came and the presentation looked great but it tasted very salty and my tacos, rice and beans were cold. The server gives us our check and vernatim tells us to "hurry up and close out our bills" because management wants him to go home...? I wish I could say that was a joke. Absolutely disrespectful. I will never be going back.

Food was just fair this time. I enjoyed the same enchilada dish much more on previous occasions. Also, the chips this time were overly salty and tasted like they were from a store-bought bag. The salsa was still good, though. We hope the food will improve to its former standard in the near future.

I ordered two tacos (one beef and one chicken). The taco shell was filled with lettuce and some tomatoes on top. I had to ask my husband where is the meat? The beef and chicken were nowhere to be found except when you get to the bottom of the taco shell there were few pieces of meat. Very disappointing.

Food was average and so was the service. The cloth dinner napkins on the table were dirty when we sat down. I had to ask the waiter to bring new ones that didn't have stains on them.

This restaurant provides a decent Mexican meal in this area. The restaurant is clean and spacious and comfortable. The quality of the food was a notch above the average. However I did not find the food to be worth the price. The mahi tacos at $5 each on Taco Tuesday were dry and less than fresh. The service was excellent.

When I first heard about this place I assumed the service would be decent......it was not. I waited 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order. I was also very disappointed with the food, however once or order was taken it came out very quickly. Overall the Prickly Pear Cantina is not worth the money, it was a very low quality experience. You should go somewhere else if you are looking for a quality experience.

Our small office decided to come here for a holiday dinner. First, the lighting felt like an interrogation room and when we asked the hostess if there was a possibility of dimming the lights a bit, she said she didn't know how. We were a group of 7, lodged in to a booth, because the hostess (same lovely woman) was holding an entire side of the room for an alleged group of 12 (which never showed up) Two of us don't eat meat so we were delighted to hear that the tamales were chicken. After a very long wait, our food was delivered, and the we were told as the plates were being put in front of us, that they are now beef because they ran out of chicken. Two of us ended sending them back, and then the wait began. The other 5, all eating slowly and trying to be polite, had finished their meals by the time ours came back. so, we ate in shifts, the food was marginal at best (clearly a microwave in that kitchen) and no apology for substituting food without letting us in advance so that we could make the decision on what to order and eat with our group. Awful experience. Never going back.

We were early for our reservation and the place wasn't busy but it took them a while to seat us. We asked to sit in a booth but apparently they were expecting a group who never came. The server was pleasant, no complaints with him, but the food and drink from the bar took forever. The food had no flavor and the fajitas only came with a dinky side of sour cream and guac. The only thing enjoyable was the glass of water and the chips and salsa. I don't intend to ever go back.

Our waiter wasn't very attentive. We waited and waited for him to come back once we got our meals but he didn't so I didn't order another drink and left a bit cranky. The food was meh--not much flavor and seemed very whity and trying too hard. There was water all over the floor in the bathroom and it was pretty disgusting. There was no toddler step stool in the bathroom.

We've been here a few times - like to sit outside on a nice evening. But, there's no real reason to go here otherwise. The food is ok, the margaritas are terrible. Mine was basically orange juice - it was actually orange. When I saw another table with what looked like a real margarita, the server said "oh yeah, that's our house margarita". When I asked "what did I have?" he didn't seem to know. I asked to get a house margarita, and on the bill he charged me for both. I didn't think that was right. He also kind of came and went, there were times he was very attentive and then times he was nowhere to be found. And they weren't very busy. All in all, I think they could really step up their game and be a great restaurant, all the factors are there, it just seems like they don't care or try.

We always enjoy our girl's lunches at the Prickly Pear...There might have been a miss-communication but I had mentioned that we were there to celebrate a birthday and we had to request a birthday dessert again after we received our bill. Other than that, we enjoyed our lunch and celebrating our girlfriend's birthday!

We went with high hopes. The food was ok, but our entrees were served 5 minutes apart, and one was cold. We ordered dessert which came with part missing, and the rest didnt arrive until the former was almost finished. Overall ok, but would no repeat

I went with a friend on 7/14/16. I got the “Famoso” Burrito, and my friend got the street tacos, (both carnitas). My burrito and his tacos were so salty we couldn’t eat it. It must have been the batch they made the carnitas from because we got two different things but both carnitas, and they were both extremely salty. We did not send our food back, I hate being “that person” so I just ate a few bites and took that loss.

What a disappointment! It's not what I expect from Rodney Worth. The service was awful - it's like the people don't care at all. Though the entrees were good - a seafood and a mole enchilada, the rice tasted as if it had been made the day before, overcooked and left to stand around. And despite the color, it had no taste at all. Really a waste to come in here. And yet, the right person could take this great location, add good food and service and make it wonderful.

Our second visit and to say the least we were very underwhelmed. My wife street tacos were bland, my chile relleno was heavy and "soggy" tasting, and my chicken taco was nothing special. Our other guest had a chicken enchilada with rice and beans and said it was "ok".
$79 for three with tip for the comments above? Time to find another place for Mexican food in the San Ramon/Danville area or look to Pleasanton...
