We felt that the food was fine but incredibly overpriced! While we appreciated the chef making an adjustment for a vegetarian, a simple arrabiata shouldn’t be $30! Waitress was great as was the live music.
The waitress did not come by to check if everything was ok. I did not like that my lamb chops were on top of lettuce and the lamb chops were not very flavorful. I thought the ambiance was just ok
They don't have a traditional Italian style menu. No menu on line they just show pictures. No menu items for kids just meatballs and spaghetti. They offer no Italian bread I was very surprised of there great reviews that's why we went there.
Amazing food. Great craft cocktails & a wonderful wine list. The live music was a bit too loud.
Great food, small portions
Pricey but great food
Forget the incredibly authentic menu, the warm, personable service, the delicious food, go for the jazz guitarist Nikko! What a talent. Oh, wait, I am so confused. Go if you want to experience one of the best dining experiences on Maui. Sit on the patio for the music, or the very interesting Burrata Bar (the pear/honey will blow you away) or the main dining area (small and intimate), there is no bad seat in the place. The Pour House Salad is plenty for 2 and the Steamers and pasta (with 2 dozen+ clams), or the Pantry Pasta (4 golf ball sized meatballs) with their delicious marinara sauce will fill your biggest appetite. As expected, their reasonably priced wine list gives you many quality selections to top off the experience. We found this place after waiting forever to get into Sansei next door. So glad we switched as it was such a better experience than our prior dining experience at Sansei.
We have been back 3 times now and it has been consistent and rewarding each time.
The restaurant was quiet yet service was slow that evening. The hostess ended up serving us and I think that contributed to the slowness. Food was okay, but not great. It came out too hot to eat (both bowl and food) thus there was some microwaving going on behind the scenes. Decent wine list.
Great meal. My only regret was they were out of lobster ravioli entree when we were seated at 6:45pm. 😢
Food was excellent. Loved my cocktail. My husband was hoping we had been served some bread while we were waiting for our orders. They didn't have any non alcoholic beer or iced tea, however, my husband enjoyed the Italian soda he was recommended to have instead. They didn't have tiramisu on their dessert menu which we thought should be a selection in an Italian restaurant. We did enjoy the panna cotta for dessert, though.
Absolutely awesome food, great service and fabulous live music! Could it get better? When the charm of poke and other fish dishes wears off ‘The Pour House’ is there with delicious appetizers, drinks and mains! Possible to dine inside or outside to suit your mood. It has become our very favorite dinner house when we are at our home in Kapalua!
Service was excellent, food incredible, ambience, perfect
Food was good and service was good as well. The live music was awesome... This guy could play anything... Amazing. Cheers
Excellent ambiance, friendly staff, outstanding food, generous portions
The service started out shaky, being told I must vacate my table in an hour and fifteen minutes. With an Open Table Reservation no less. The service did improve , we were told we could stay as long as we wanted. The guitar player was awesome, just a bit too loud for the space. The food was good, if a bit pricey. On our next visit here we’ll try them again.
We were lucky to show up on Trivia night and had a blast with the family. The food was outstanding. The best Italian food we’ve had in a long time. The bread board had so many yummy things on it. Chicken Raviolis, Pantry Pasta, Pasta Pesto Claims and Pesto Gnocchi were all amazing! Wine selection was over the top. Planning on going back one more time before we head home.
Possibly the best Italian food I've ever had! The burrata is a must-have. Great service, very approachable wine list, and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.
Overly expensive. A plain salad with lettuce and dressing for 15 dollars is gauging. Drinks overly priced compared to other places. Food was good but my husbands steak came on a miniature plate need a bigger plate for the size.
Wonderful local restaurant. Our server was very attentive and let us take our time. The food is delicious, wine fabulous. The quite live music was an added bonus. A can't miss in Kapalua!
It’s a nice restaurant across from the golf course. The seating that we had were funky out hammock style pods. Because there were so few patrons we felt comfortable, relaxed, and not hurried. Because it is near the Ritz Carlton the menu is pricey for some somewhat standard Italian food selections. They do also have Italian gelato onsite
Excellent good and service in a romantic set up.
We were seated on the terrace.
By far our favorite restaurant in Maui. The folks were very welcoming to guests. The owner, Morris would spend time in the dinning room talking with guests at each table. He goes above and beyond what you see at the typical restaurants. You really feel like you are in his home. Service was great. SK is a great server and allowed us to take our time and just enjoy our food and the atmosphere. This isn’t your typical chain “Garden of Olives” restaurant. Food is thoughtfully prepared, so if you are expecting the fast Italian experience of a corporate chain restaurant this may not be your place. But if you want to enjoy a nice evening and sample some excellent authentic Italian cuisine then do give this place a try. I can’t tell you enough how relaxing and enjoyable this restaurant was. We will miss it when we leave the island.
This is a great new restaurant in Kapalua. The owner, who is from LA, has brought to Maui his deep love for Italian cuisine, outstanding local and mainland sources for fresh ingredients, and a remarkable trove creative culinary talent.
The Burrata was delicious. light and smooth. The salads are made with very fresh, locally grown vegetables. The restaurant is a great place to linger, enjoy great food, fine wine and live music.
This is a great place! We visit Napili every year and this is one of our "go to" restaurants. The owner, Morris, is friendly and knows his wines! The servers are wonderful. Brittney helped us on two of our three trips during our last visit. She made great suggestions and was very friendly!
The menu is fantastic. Have not had a bad dish there!
Overall, the food was great, my wife and I had the special lobster ravioli and the lasagna. The vodka cream sauce with the raviolis was excellent. We started with the special pesto and red sauce burrata plate, which was tasty but lacked enough crostinis for the amount of sauce. Pricing and portion size is a major detractor for the appetizers and entrees. The salads, however, are large and suitable for sharing with the table. As another plus, they had live music outside. The ambience is great, and we overheard the owner that the planned concept is to have sampling size pours of high quality wines from dispensers in the future. This restaurant must be very new. My thought is that they need to work on overall value, but from a good quality perspective, they are on the right track.
My favorite place to dine They have wonderful fresh salads ! It is
obvious that they buy the best product! The Entrees are amazing
and portions are perfect.
The honey Burrata is amazing! The food is wonderful and trivia night was fun. Highly recommend a beautiful dinner in beautiful Kapalua.
The food was excellent. However, the service was uncoordinated. Asked for vodka tonic, received vodka soda. Selected a wine from the list, they couldn’t find it in the wine cooler....and didn’t tell us until we received our food. The owner made an adjustment, but not an enjoyable evening.
This restaurant is a charming little spot that could do so much more. Pantry Pasta was super ordinary with overdone noodles, decent meatballs but nothing exceptional. Please note that NO bread is served nor is parmesan cheese offered to top pasta dishes - so this is a bare bones eating experience unless you order ala carte apps, salads, etc.
The noise level was disturbing to conversation, even after we asked that the indoor speakers be adjusted. (The source is a live musician on the patio who would have been much more appreciated at lower decibels.) The wine list appears quite nice although dining with folks that prefer cocktails, I was limited to a fairly limited glass list.
Service was polite and enthusiastic, but not knowledgeable at all.
Maybe the kitchen will improve; maybe servers will learn, etc. But I think this lovely little spot has a long way to go to last in Maui/Kapalua, where there are ample better options.
Horrible service, exceptionally overpriced. Would not recommend at all.
The charcuterie and cheese plate was very good (three meats, three cheeses, sliced bread drizzled with balsamic vinegar, dates, apples, pecans, mustard and honey) but our spicy seafood pasta entree was terrible. The dish was brought to our table cold, it was bland and the pasta was watery. For a $38 entree (4 large shrimp and a bunch of small shellfish comprised the seafood), I would have expected much more. We asked for our entree to be split and were told the kitchen wouldn’t do that for us. Generally, the service was subpar and slow. We looked forward to returning to this restaurant after playing trivia here (when it was the Wine Palette) on a past trip, but we will not be coming back to the Pour House.
My husband Leo , and I had a very positive experience. The first time we came there was a little hiccup in service for which management was very regretful but they gave us their card good for a free appetizer the next time we visited. Food, absolutely delicious, service excellent and we left satisfied and happy.
Not a big restaurant, The Pour House was a nice spot... and a pleasant surprise!
The Pour House in Kapalua Maui is a real gem. The owners Morris and his lovely wife Laura are just awesome hosts and invite you to dine at their restaurant as if it were their own home. The food is delicious especially the meat and cheese board with selections straight from Italy all freshly cut right before they are served to you. They have wonderful salads and fresh delicious pasta dishes made daily. You can also sit outside on the porch/veranda for a beautiful outdoor dinning experience. On Sunday and Monday you can enjoy dinner while listening to beautiful music played by Nino Toscano on his guitar. The overall ambience is warm and inviting and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff at the Pour House make this a must for dining when you are in Maui.
Seemed to be a neighborhood watering spot for locals. We arrived with the entire restaurant playing a trivia game that involved a DJ and large movie screen. While it would have been fun to have a drink and appetizers was not great for dining. The burata appetizers were excellent as the the caprese salad. The main course not so much. I had the meatballs and my wife had the tortellini. Pretty standard fare.
Very good live music on the deck. Pleasant but not too loud. (we sat inside). Don't ask for outdoor seating though if you wish quiet. Service was prompt and pleasant. Wine selection is adequate. I judge Caprese salad first by the quality of tomatoes. These were good but I felt the salad lacked sufficient balsamic glaze. It was brought promptly when I asked for more. My spaghetti and clams had excellent fresh clams but I found the spaghetti lacking in sufficient oil/pesto so it was a bit dry. My spouse had the spaghetti and meatballs and was happy with it.
Service and food was delicious. Perfect for date night!
Shocked by how good the food was! I had the mixed baby greens with ricotta. Probably the best salad I have ever had!
I would recommend a visit to Pour House. It is a modest sized restaurant with some outdoor seating and excellent live entertainment (light rock/folk). It features Italian fare and has really delicious small plates, a great wine list, and entrees big enough to share. Service was really exceptionable, attentive, accommodating, and helpful. Our part was not rushed in any way as some spots on the island. I just wonder why my Open Table request for a later time was not available yet several tables were not filled in those time slots.
Our Pesto & Marinara Burrata was fair at best and over priced at $26. Our romaine lettuce salad with mustard dressing was also fair. My wife loved her spinach & ricotta cheese ravioli with pesto sauce. I loved my Pasta Bolognese. We shared a bottle of Meomi Pinot Noir which was very smooth & full bodied.
