The Pour House at the New Hope Winery
Everything was great. We will be back! Enjoyed the show too
Great dinner before a fantastic show ! Can’t wait to go back!
Very limited menu. Got there at 6:30 and had to be at the show next door at the New Hope Winery for an 8:00p show. Our orders weren't taken until 7:00p. At 7:45 we left without eating. Incredibly poor service. Won't ever go back.
Thank you so much for giving us feedback, the issue we had that evening was that your entire party hadn't arrived together on time so yes, dinner orders were not placed until 7pm which we had informed you there may be a problem getting you to the show on time. I am incredibly sorry about the miscommunication, but as we were short-handed that evening (flu season) and doing our best to provide our regular standard of service, we did not charge for your appetizers and drinks to compensate.
The food was great and the server was awesome. We had a bottle of the NHW cab and it was fantastic.
Food was very good and staff was appropriately friendly and courteous. Prices are right for my wallet. I have been there several times, never disappointed.
Autumn squash soup was very good.
We arrived on a treacherous snowy and sleeting night and were grateful for the warm welcome and cavernous atmosphere. Our server couldn’t have been nicer and professional. It’s just that while the menu had appeal, the quality of the food was generally lacking.
My husband and I both had the butternut squash soup which looked good but was cloyingly sweet. I had the roasted salmon with rice medley and butternut squash. But the portion of rice was almost an afterthought, scattered under my salmon, and the butternut squash was just a few cubes mixed into the rice. So much for getting my veggies. The salmon was prepared well but doused in a sweet sauce that drowned the dish.
I did try their saffron ice cream for dessert and it was truly something special.
We enjoyed the convenience of being at the Winery’s venue for a concert after dinner, especially on such a bad weather night, so would I go again? Probably. It wasn’t all bad. Just don’t arrive with high culinary expectations.
Thank you for your feedback! I am surprised to hear you did not entirely enjoy your food. We do in fact have high culinary expectations here as our chef has won awards and studied at the Culinary Institute. The butternut squash soup may not be for everyone as it is simmered in apple cider, creating that sweet flavor. As for the salmon, it is finished with a maple-citrus reduction noted on the menu. However, with that being said, I will absolutely give this feedback to our chef. Thank you again
Cocktails, apps, mains and dessert options were great. Our meals were tasty and nicely prepared. If you go before a show, allow 1 1/2 hours.
Cozy place with excellent food. The staff was friendly and engaging. Service was excellent. Would definitely return again.
I think this place is a hidden gem! The service was excellent and the food was very good. I went with a friend with the idea of trying something different and we both enjoyed the quirky decor, the good food and excellent service. I will be going back soon!
Great menu selection with reasonable pricing
Attentive and friendly waitstaff
Understanding and accommodating of food allergies
Filet mignon special was tender and delicious! Fresh green beans and mashed potatoes were the side dishes. We liked the winery's riesling and the desserts -- lemon pound cake and pineapple upside down cake.
After dinner, we enjoyed the live music -- a local jazz quartet which played holiday and original pieces. The venue was full and the audience was very enthusiastic. We had a great time!
Great place! Loved the log cabin feel! Food was delicious & wine was great too!
Smallish space, our table was not private at all food was good, decent not large portions. server was fantastic. Very convenient when seeing a show at the theater. Plenty of on site parking
There were ants (and an ant trap) all over our table and the wall by our table. An hour after placing our order, when we asked where our food was, we were told there was a “printer error” and our food was coming. We were then served an almost completely raw piece of salmon.
Although our waitress brought us each a free glass of wine to make up for the delay in our meal, it was a hopelessly below average experience. We had to ask for our change, etc etc etc.
We enjoyed our show at the attached venue, but would never consider dining there again.
I am absolutely mortified by your experience and this is the first I am hearing of this! I tried looking for the table you were speaking of with ant traps, however I could not find it. We take cleanliness to an extreme here and while we clean daily we also deep clean the entire restaurant weekly. I also was not aware that your food took so long to arrive as that is not an ordinary occurrence. Would you please email me at info@newhopewinerycom so I could send a certificate? My sincerest apologies
The winery salad was mixed greens, nuts, & grapes in a nice sized portion. The shrimp special was great ! Generous sized Shrimp along with being nicely spiced with saffron.
Loved having dinner at New Hope Winery before attending a concert there. We will go back again!
The Pour House is our favorite place to eat by far. Chef Larry always makes the most amazing meals. You will never get fried food or run of the mill dishes. . The people are so friendly and go out of their way to make everything perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
Great time ........will be back.... food was amazing 👍
The food was very good, Prices were outragious!
Selling at best a $9.00 bottle of wine for $40.
Entrees, for what it is, way overpriced.
At the concert, selling Voss water for $5.00 and that's your only option.
I felt taken advantage of, There is no reason for that.
I understand your frustration, however, I must humbly disagree with you. There is not a single bottle of wine here that would go for $9 as they are hand selected for their quality. Yes, there are a three bottles of wine for$40, but there are 12 others well below to give everyone variety. Voss is our water selection for concerts (priced at $4), but there are also sodas for $2. All our food is homemade, comes from local suppliers, the portion sizes are large enough to share and priced accordingly.
Loved the atmosphere. The food was delicious and artfully presented. Excellent service as well.
Will definitely come back.
Awesome meal. Great service We had the best meal Scallops with autumn flavors of apples and bacon and stuffing. We keep going back. The staff is so efficient and all are needs are filled.
Enjoy Ed the scallops. Ice cream was delicious.
Dining at the pour house was fair ! The flat bread was good . The steak was way to big and I ordered it medium, it came med. well ! The mashed potatoes tasted awful and the green beans were very crunchy, not the greatest but ok!!!! I did like the carmalized red wine onion sauce but overall a mediocre dinner!!!!!!
We have been many times and it’s always great. Chef Larry prepares the dishes perfectly. The people that work there make you feel like family. I can’t wait to go back!
Nice variety to the menu and excellent preparation of our entrees. The service is impeccable (Trevor in this case) and the price is much better than the New Hope competition.
We'll be back!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We look forward to having you back with us!
We went out with friends before a concert at The Winery. It was our first time there. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. Also loved the plating. Was so pretty!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Please visit us again soon!
Really nice barn setting with antique decor around the facility. Seems like a fun place for the locals and a great place to eat before the show. Seems like the comfort food offerings are the specialty vs. higher end foods due to the lack of a real kitchen space.
liked the proximity to the event venue; service staff was super attentive. issues in kitchen so the food was a bit disappointing - shrimp was not grilled enough and flatbread didn't have much topping. Ordered NHW white wine and it was not cold at all. otherwise liked the old barn atmosphere and comfortable feel of the dining area.
A nice little lunch - tasted some wines, listened to some music. Limited menu, but the sandwiches are good and portions are big. One of our party had the special lamb stew in a bread bowl and raved about it. A little outside of town but will return.
Kudos to the whole staff. Chef Larry is one of the best creators of dishes. Tess made sure we did not go thirsty . The whole experience is to be noted as one of our best. Thank you All. Job well done.
My husband and I decided to stop in for a bite after a day of historical sightseeing. The service and staff were exceptional -- very warm and attentive. We sat outside surrounded by a stone ruin under and arbor on a beautiful late summer afternoon with wine and good food. My shrimp quesadilla was delicious, as was my husband's Cuban sandwich, topped off by a flight of chef made ice cream! It was the perfect end to our day.
Food, Wine and live music made for Avery relaxed Saturday afternoon.
This was our second time at this restaurant. The service was much improved from the first time. The menu was very limited. An okay place to go before a show. At The Winery, but wouldn’t go there for any other reason
Thank you so much for dining with us and taking the time to give us a review! I'm glad you enjoyed our service but after such a great sounding experience, I am curious as to why you would not visit us unless going to a show? Please send me an email at info@newhopewinerycom to give us some feedback!
Food was very good. Fresh and tasty. The chairs are a bit wobbly and uncomfortable. I like the atmosphere a lot - but definitely need better quality chairs. The offerings are small on the menu but food sizes are plentiful. The pricing on drinks a bit high too but still would very much recommend. we like coming here when we see a concert or show in the back of the restaurant.
Thank you so much for your feedback! We will absolutely look into the chairs. Hope to see you again soon!
We went to the Pour House for dinner before one of the shows (Starman - David Bowie cover band).
Overall the experience was OK, and not sure we would go back.
The hostess was awesome and we got seated right away upstairs (we were the only table up there). I guess they were a bit busy, she took our drink order and eventually our appetizer order - flatbread.
The server was super nice too and took our main order. The rest of the experience wasn’t as good.
We got our flatbread - which was hot and tasty! However, our entree arrived within minutes of our flatbread and we weren’t even 1/2 done, so he had to clear plates to make room. Definitely rushed.
I ordered the salmon, and it was warm at best - the sides were not hot either. It was supposed to be grilled, but it wasn’t.
My son’s Tuna was good - served with mango and salad.
We might give it a try again, but there are other options nearby.
Thank you so much for dining with us and giving us feedback. Yes, we were extremely busy that night which is why you were sat upstairs, we definitely wanted to make sure you ate before the show! So happy you enjoyed your flatbread but I do apologize if you felt rushed. There may have been some miscommunication going on which I do apologize for. Our salmon is roasted which may have led to some confusion? But regardless your food should have come out hot. I hope you do give us another try!
the food was fabulous...and the amazing ONE chef all alone prepared meals for the whole restaurant...amazing...food presentation was top notch, and was delicious. Service was extremely professional, yet warm and friendly...Wonderful place, will definitely return.
Thank you so much for dining with us! Our chef is a superhero when it comes to cooking! We hope to see you again soon!
This was my first time eating here. Decided to try the Pour House for dinner before a show. The hostess was very nice and welcoming. There were several specials. Started with some tomato soup with a black bean infusion. It was excellent followed by chilean sea bass with a crab salad and truffled squash. Also excellent. The only real complaints we have are that one of the staff tried to clear my soup before I had finished. She didn't ask or anything first. And after we got our main course we felt like we were being rushed to eat and get out. The waitress brought a dessert menu before we had finished and it really felt like we were being rushed to leave. I'm not sure why as the restaurant was not full. This was a little disconcerting given the quality of everything else. I'll try it again and hope for a better experience with the service next time.
Hi Freddy, I am so happy you enjoyed everything you ordered as we take pride in our food! I apologize sincerely for the service you received and can only assume this was to ensure you got to the show on time as we would never deliberately rush someone through their meal. We would love to have you back and show your our hospitality!
Would recommendation, but with caveats. Ambiance lovely, service very good, hostess was tremendously helpful. Specials were good, but items ordered off menu were only passable. Not great quality meats and unremarkable seasoning/preparations.
Thank you so much for reviewing us Judith and stopping by! I'm so happy you enjoyed our service but surprised to learn you did not enjoy your food. Our meats are always freshly prepared right here in house and quality is held to our highest priority. I hope you give us another try in the future!
