   I would normally have recommended the potting shed to a friend as I have had excellent experiences here in the recent past. This time however I was disappointed. My partner ordered from the specials menu Rye bay cod fillet with smashed new potatoes and tender stem broccoli. When it arrived at table it was totally different . Instead of what was advertised it came with pasta and cauliflower. Nothing had been said regarding the switch either before or after it was served. I had the chicken kebab which was also disappointing ......so going by our experience on this occasion......No I would not recommend this venue on this occasion although service was excellent as usual, the staff friendly and attentive, the ambience was great. Just let down by the food on this occasion

   Probably would recommend. Food is very good, very friendly and very good service. My only complaint is the noise level and the fact that it is difficult to have a conversation especially as my husband is hard of hearing and suffers with tinitus.

   Lovely setting, very relaxed with a happy atmosphere. Food was great as was the service. We were not rushed at all and were left to sit and enjoy our chat and coffee. Will definitely return again for brunch.

   Always a good venue especially with friends and family. Can be a bit crampt in the old part of the pub when dining.

   We've been here 3 times, this time was a Thursday night in early February so it really wasn't that busy. On our previous visits which have been at a 'better' time of year, it was buzzing. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table which was along the edge of the restaurant. Drinks were served promptly and they had a good choice of Gins and the right tonic as well! We elected to have a quick supper, just a main course and a pud and The Potting Shed did not disappoint. Service was very fast and the food although not outstanding was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed my pud which was Rhubarb and Apple Crumble with custard (marvellous...). For our main course, my wife had the Scallops which she said were excellent. I had the filet of Sea Bass which had a very good crispy skin and the whole dish tasted good but I felt was missing something - maybe a sauce or something but to be fair we were offered sauces at the outset but I couldn't decide at that stage whether I needed one or not. On reflection, some mayonnaise might have been a good idea. All in all though a very pleasant visit to this place and we'll be back.

   We have had fish and chips 3 times now and each time they have been superb. The staff are really friendly. We will be back.
