This location was shutdown when we arrived.
We went for Jazz Dinner on Saturday and the music was phenomenal, the gin cocktails were the best I’ve ever had in the city, and the lobster Mac and cheese was so good! We will be making the Love Lace a regular spot!
It wasn’t even open!
Always amazing. I come back over and over for the incredible food (especially steak), the live jazz and the gin cocktails.
Great place. Drinks very good. Octopus solid, not the best but good. The jazz music is also a great touch. The bar area is neat. Will always keep coming back here.
Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experience. Server took over 30 minutes to greet us and one hour to bring our glasses of water and then took our order. Our food took over 45 minutes. A couple that arrived about 15 minutes after we arrived was greeted and served with 30 minutes. It was like we were not there. They saw us waiting and I got up to tell the hostess we are waiting for our sever and still it was as if we were not there. I will never be back or recommend this restaurant.
Always a great place. Cocktails were great and so was service.
So glad they are open. Great food and drinks. Keep supporting our bars and restaurants.
A perfect location for drinks with friends or a date. The service was spot on and the food/drinks were just delicious. We ordered the bar pretzel, lobster mac, and tuna poke. I promise you’ve never had a Gin and tonic the way this place does it!
Live jazz brunch was amazing. Mixologist was incredibly knowledgeable and made incredible drinks. Will go back to Lovelace very soon!
The place was closed! Although it says it is open and I made a reservation!
Food was terrible.
Nice outdoor space. A good option in the neighborhood.
Waitress forgot about every drink order when we ordered
Had a great time catching up with a friend! Food and drinks were awesome!
Went there for dinner and it was excellent. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative. Our meals were perfect prepared and delicious. We will be back again when we visit NYC in April!
Always an amazing experience. Highly recommended.
More low key during weekdays lunch (when I usually come with my colleague) but dinner is energetic and lovely in its own way.
Lunch: get chimichurri steak with truffle fries
Dinner: get the burrata salad with steak or salmon, octopus app is also good
It's a rambling place, but very homey and quiet. The food was excellent (especially the shepherds pie). After dinner we went to the bar and they had a duo playing live music and they were exceptional! Perfect place for an excellent meal and some great music.
We are regulars and the experience is great everytime we go
The music was great! The food was really good. The service(granted its Valentine’s Day) was a bit slow. But overall a very nice evening.
One of my favorite places to go downtown. Its quiet with excellent food and cocktails.
Came in and ended up just sitting at the bar. Cozy place with a unique, classy decor. The bar tenders were not overly willing to assist. Almost seemed like they did not care to work with people (is it the NY attitude?). Regardless we enjoyed our drinks and tried the octopus appetizer. It was ok. No my favorite rendition of it.
I ordered the fish and chips as an entrée. The fish had a strong ammonia odor. Brought it to the attention of the wait staff who had no comment or remedy.
Such a beautiful place in a part of the city that doesn’t have a whole lot of elegant choices.
So you would think they would capitalize on that by going the extra mile to give the customer an equally special experience.
We made a reservation on Open Table for which whatever reason we were not entitled to points (go figure). We were seated in the bar area which with its soaring ceilings is a great environment... but the acoustics are murder.
The more intimate other rooms are better if you want to actually be able to converse (which during a business lunch is kind of key, you would think).
The barman doubled as waiter. I asked for a Virgin Mary and was told that they didn’t have the mix ...imagine that in a bar!..so I asked for a tomato juice and after 10 minutes he came back and casually said he didn’t have that either. To say he is passive as a server would be an understatement. I had a very good hamburger for which I asked some Dijon mustard. After I had almost finished the burger, the DR hostess brought me Guldens!
It’s such a disappointment that they don’t take advantage of the extraordinary ambience to match it with extraordinary food selection and service to match.
I’ve been there several times as it is incredibly convenient to my company but I have to admit that I’m gonna have to think twice before going again.
Great service. A tad of a wait so don't be late and reserve your spot today!
This was the second time we tried to go here because the concept is so good and the decor is so pretty. The first time they were closed when they should have been open. This time we were seated in the adjacent Porterhouse Beer Bar which wasn't the atmosphere we sought for a romantic date--both restaurants are linked by open doors and similar but not identical menus. The level of sound on a Thursday at 6pm was deafening, the bar was packed completely. The food was fine. Could even have been good, but it was so hard to focus since we were trying to figure out whether we were even in the right restaurant. (We entered through a middle door and a waiter seated us after waving off our claim that we had reservations, we had no idea if it had been registered - it hadn't - so I had to chase down a different hostess to ask to be checked in and to understand the whole seating process with the linked restaurants.) That aside, the happy hour wine pours were generous, and the appetizer toasts with camembert and figs were delicious. My head was aching before the entrees came so, sorry, can't review them. It's a great place to be loud and drunk and very young and well dressed though.
Service was very friendly and no order issues, but very slow. Overall great atmosphere even the outdoor seating felt like a step outside of crazy tourist NYC.
Great place for workday lunch with friends. Good food and service.
Even though Open Table let me reserve a time, and I arrived early, the kitchen was closing and almost didn’t get to eat... but they did let me order (about 7:45 p.m. on a Sunday) as the live jazz ensemble was finishing up.
Had a very refreshing gin & tonic with blood orange, salad and huge burger. It was great, as always and more than enough food!
I would suggest you call ahead if you are late on a Sunday.
Waitress was horrible... food was not good at all. The mussels were so bad my friend could not eat them. My salad was bland. The risotto was hard . The drinks were ok not strong just in a goblet with lots of tonic..
Slow service, especially for lunch time in a business area. Food was good, not fantastic. Restaurant was not very full so it was quiet - good for a professional conversation. Outdoor seating is always nice but we chose to sit inside due to the need to go over business.
My friend and I had been here for drinks at the bar months ago and LOVED the ambiance and decor. The bar is honestly one of the cutest NYC bars I’ve ever seen and the live music makes the ambiance so special. With that said, this time we went for dinner. We were continuously flagging someone down to place our order and almost everything they brought out to us was done wrong. The restaurant nor bar was at all busy and somehow no one seemed to see our empty water glasses or drinks. I really wished they had done better because I would be back if I knew the service was at least decent.
We didn't do a comprehensive review, or sample their specialties.
We just enjoyed a simple light meal, on our way to an event.
We shared an order of fish and chips, and a dessert. She had a prosecco, then coffee, and I opted for an English bitter from their bottle beer list.
Service was good and friendly, and we enjoyed our meal and drinks. It was pretty much exactly what we wanted.
We'll be back again.
Best place to drink if you are a gin lover. Different drinks from all over the world. Nice appetizers too and they had live jazz on a Tuesday evening.
The service was terrible. There were seven in our party and I had to flag her down three times to ask for drinks and food. Twice I had to get up to go get her. She never came around even once to ask what else we needed. Finally, when I told her that she needed to pay more attention to our table, she just sulked! The utter lack of service ruined it for me. I practically had to serve myself and for the high prices and so-so food, it’s just not worth it.
I've wanted to try Lovelace since it opened, as New York is lacking English-style gin bars. And now I know I don't have to go back. The bar and dining room is small and quite noisy. The gin and tonics are huge, but pre-mixed (yeah some people like to pour their own tonic). The food is decent. But the single server for the entire room was overwhelmed. It was not a relaxed experience. So Lovelace...been there, done that.
