The Porch Restaurant & Bar - Sacramento
Mother's Day Menus & Specials
This is a very special day of the year! Let us help you make this a very special day!
Hostess was not the friendliest person
Bartender was great
Drinks were just ok for the price
Food was great
I will be back!
Do you been you was very limited for a place that said they specialize in Southern food. The noise level because our table was on the sidewalk outside the restaurant was OK. I would not go back there again
Nice dinner and good drinks. Delicious dessert!
Well done, nice environment and an obvious commitment to quality.
The Porch is always a favorite restaurant of mine! My son and I went for an early Easter Dinner. They were serving their Sunday Lunch/Brunch menu. Everything was delicious. The fried avocado was tasty, although I missed the fried green tomatoes! The fried chicken was divine and my son enjoyed the Shrimp Po Boy. I was disappointed in the dessert menu. There wasn’t anything authentic. No pecan pie, peach cobbler or bread pudding this time! The service was excellent, but the ambiance not the same right now with CoVid restrictions in place, of course! All in all, it was a good choice and dining experience.
I always love the food here. We usually order a lot of things family style for the table.
We went for our anniversary and it was incredible! Our waiter was very sweet and the food was INSANE. We loved everything and can’t wait to come back!
Food was horrible. We’ve eaten here several times and it was great. We went on Easter Sunday for my wife’s birthday and the food was horrible. I had chicken and waffles, the waffle was worse than any waffle I’ve ever had, it was like a cold frozen waffle they put on a plate, i would have expected a nice Belgian waffle. My wife’s shrimp and grits were terrible as well, who puts bbq sauce in shrimp and grits? We won’t be back.
Outstanding meal & service. Arrived early and tasted some recommended whiskeys. Then had a wonderful meal.
Super yummy food and amazing staff! Will be coming back very soon!
We had requested an outside seat in our reservation. The email confirmed it. Upon arrival.... the host told me I hadn’t specified so I was getting inside. That my reservation was “standard”. Thankfully I had my email stating outside. Two minutes later he “found” where it said outside. I’m not sure why he first looked at it and told me it stated “standard”!
My husband had a burger. Ordered it Medium. It came out rare- to medium rare.
I had the grilled cheese eggs Benedict. I was so looking forward to it. But was super disappointed. Just two pieces of toast. With melted sliced cheese. Eggs. And about 2 tables spoons of hollandaise sauce. Would not recommend this dish.
At least our cocktails were yummy!!!
I will be back! The drinks are great and the food is really fresh and cooked perfectly. I took a friend here and we ordered the fried green tomatoes, roasted Brie and beignets which are delicious with homemade jam.
I love this place!! Great food and wonderful service .
Better to go during the week . Weekends are very crowded.
Chicken and waffles are outstanding.
Great food and great menu. Fantastic whisky selection. The service was friendly and prompt. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I will be back and I recommend others go as well.
Food is amazing
Great service! Our waitress was really nice and the food was delicious.
Food was tasty and service was great ! Love the outdoor atmosphere
The food didn't meet our expectations for a high quality restaurant. The grits and shrimp were bland and ill prepared and the chicken and waffles are as good or better at an iHop or Black Bear. The beignets and fruit were the winners. Our waitress was excellent and the host set up the on street dining with a heater for us. Our table was set on a 10 degree angle.
Our food was awesome. We will definitely be going back when indoor dining is allowed. The tables were in the street and lopsided but they are doing their best. We did brunch and it was great. Our waiter was ok. Thanks Porch!!
It was a nice meal overall. The baked brie was amazing, the biscuits and gravy were okay, the chicken wing and thigh were awful, but the breast was large, juicy, and flavorful (and filling). The mashed potatoes were decent. I went with my girlfriend and we are planning on returning in the future.
First time at the Porch and it was was a great experience. I had reservations, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was great very attentive and the food was amazing . After our meal we decided on desert which was the red velvet cake we shared a piece and they cute it in half for us and brought it on separate plates . I really appreciate the little things a restaurant does for it customers . To me it makes a difference.
This was my first time eating at The Porch. I was really excited as I love Southern food. My friend was the one who chose this place because she’s eaten here before.
So we tried the Green Fried tomatoes. For main entree, we both ordered the Shrimp & Grits and, for dessert, we had the beignets. The green tomatoes was good. I loved the aioli that was hidden under the chopped lettuce. Because of that, my friend had to ask for more sauce on the side. I think it should have been on top of the tomatoes, as well. However, she did make a good point that they were on the smaller side and had too much breading. The Shrimp & Grits was flavorful without being on the salty side. But again, I’ve had this before at another restaurant and the grits could be smoother in texture. The beignets was okay, but a little doughy. So the question is, would I come back for another try....yes. I figure that maybe it was a different cook the night we went, so hopefully it’ll be better next time around.
Food was a bit bland. I wanted to add some seasoning to it.
brie appetizer was amazing. chicken was good, a bit peppery, servings large.
The only bad thing was the very loud very annoying people at the table behind us.
Try the Old Fashioned. Never go wrong with the Fried Chicken - enough for two.
Our food was cold when received. We never saw our waiter but twice.
Food was great service was excellent can’t wait to go back and we can eat in side❤️
It took the server extremely long to come back to take our meal and drink orders. We had to ask for two straws twice in order to get them. We were barely asked how our food was tasting so we just boxed it, paid, and left.
staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic. thanks!
Service was excellent but the food was bland
Food and service were solid. We were really far down on the sidewalk so I think we got forgotten about a few times. Overall a good experience.
First time dining at The Porch and we will definitely return. Outdoor dining in February isn't the most comfortable, but they made the best of it. It got a bit chilly after the sun went down and we asked for a heater to be brought over to our table and it was done. And the food......OMG, so good, especially the biscuit. Wow!
Can't wait to go back for brunch next time.
Troy was an amazing server! He checked on us and was very social. The food was amazing!
Food is pretty basic. The skillet cornbread and Mac and cheese starter didn’t have much flavor. I did enjoy the meatball sandwich (vegan) that I ordered.
Honestly, I don’t think we will go back.
Service was really good but as far as food goes, I just wasn’t impressed.
Great food, great service!
Despite the changes with COVID, this restaurant still amazes me with great service and awesome food. We can’t wait to come back
Lots of food, good service and drinks. Very cozy with the overhead heaters.
It was a lovely outdoor experience, food was delicious , had the biscuits & gravy and eggs with chicken apple sausage ...jam was delish!
Thank you for having heated lamps and the excellent service.
Always great food. The brisket & Biscuit was amazing. Great service and a nice arrangement for outside dining.
