The Porch Restaurant & Bar - Sacramento
Absolutely delicious food with a wonderful selection of craft beers and artisanal cocktails. Great fun!
It's the second time we've been there. Food is OK but not very tasty. For example, I ordered Cajun fried beets and Fried Chicken - both were bland. Service was great and looks like a fun place but food could stand some spice.
Just out to brunch with the family. Food was amazing. Service was pretty good. It was busy, so it took almost 40 minutes to get our main course, but the sides came out pretty quickly.. It's very noisy in there, so if that's not something you can handle, I'd recommend going during normal work hours instead of the weekend and holidays. Overall, a great experience.
Everything was great except the Porch Salad which my wife got - it was just very bland and not much to it for the price. Other than that it was a great place, our server was outstanding! We'll likely be back.
Delicious comfort food!! Fit for foodies! I recommend making a reservation, and showing up hungry! Try: brisket & biscuit, chicken & waffle, cornbread.
It was great in all. Nice art on the side and great food me and the family enjoyed
Absolutely loved this place. I was searching for a good gumbo place and came across this which might’ve just been better. I wanted to try the catfish Benedict that I saw on yelp but unfortunately they switch out their menu every weekend so I tried the crab cake Benedict instead. Still absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles and that was even more spectacular. Every flavor was just perfect. I do plan on coming back to this place to try out more of what’s on their menu. Overall experience was great, our waiter was super friendly. The only downside would’ve been that we waited almost half an hour for our food for the kitchen was backed up. The food definitely was worth the wait though. I just hope it doesn’t take that long every time.
Th food was great! The only problem was open table had me as a no show! Once I got that issue straightened out I was fine! Total 4 were in the party!
Great tasty southern food. Fairly loud on a Saturday night. Cramped seating.
First time there and it was better than I expected! Great food, great service and very nice ambiance! Will recommend to anyone!
Grey experience for a breakfast for two on a Saturday morning. Exceeded our expectations and we will be going back again soon.
Went there to celebrate Mardi Gras. Already knew the quality of food and I was not disappointed. Waiter even gave out beads! Surprised it was not crowded. Lucky for us! Hurricane drink was outstanding. Love the Porch!
Always first class food and service. Try the Brie, it’s amazing
Wonderful comfort food menus. Service staff fantastic
Excellent service by Danny!
The food and atmosphere was amazing. We brunched the Saturday before Fat Tuesday and the atmosphere was very festive.
Excellent service from our waitress. Food was delicious
Celebrated Tiffany’s birthday. The service was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and perfect setting. Our waitress gets 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Plus the personalized birthday message on the menu was a great surprise. Thank you for making the dinner extra special!
Highly recommend this restaurant for the food and attentive service of our waiter. The variety of menu was impressive. The starters and the main dishes were quite tasty.
I love the Porch. I'd go more frequently, but then I'd die of a heart attack. Every visit is a special occasion.
Food, drinks, service was all excellent. We look forward to going back
Unfortunately our Sunday Brunch on 2/24/2019 was a terrible experience. We love The Porch and have gone for lunch several times. Never would we have expected this terrible experience on Sunday. There were 3 of us and we had a reservation. It took 30 mins to get waited on, and an hour for our food, which was on the cold side. I was so upset I couldn’t even eat much. We were all beyond disappointed. I had to wave the employees down for more coffee. I felt like we went unnoticed and no one cared.
Dropped in for Sunday Brunch and started with Baked Biie and OMG perfect execution and beautifully presented. Melted in my mouth. Ordered PoBoy sandwich and it was succulent and burst of intricate flavors. Waiter was happy and attentive. Just found “my New Place!” Highly recommend
They pre-printed a birthday greeting on the menu for my Sister’s special day. What a lovely touch!
We were led to a table that was squeezed in between 2 others, which was weird placement. The host did find us a more suitable table and we appreciated that. We ordered, asking for biscuits first, then our brunch items. It all came at the same time. The food itself was good, butter should be kept at room temp, too cold for the biscuits. I was offered a coffee refill but my dining partner never got a refill of her water. Her only beverage. A little slow all together.
Great date night restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and ambiance!! Pork chop was delicious but the chicken dumplings are by far best I’ve ever tasted!!
A great place to celebrate a special occasion - or any day. All seven guests in our group were impressed with the quality, southern authenticity and generous portions. Our server was outstanding!
Great Place and Great Food! The service was as expected - like most restaurants - very accommodating.
The wine selection was outstanding and the drinks the waiter recommended hit he spot, as did desert.
Very busy atmosphere and - be warned- VERY NOISY, but manageable.
We had a great time and I would HIGHLY Recommend The "Porch" Restaurant.
The food and service are consistently great.
I am concerned about the health of the food I eat and was delighted to find organic options and non-GMO corn products. It was also delicious and the waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient.
I have highly recommended The Porch, to several friends and family members.
The food was Fantastic and the portions for huge.
The service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable of the food, he was so courteous, and he was there when we needed anything and not when we didn't need him. I really appreciated him.
It was for a Birthday for my son and they called me to find out who it was for and a special menu with his name on the menu, I thought that was so thoughtful and a special treat.
Chose The Porch recently for my birthday dinner. Let me say the food was great and the service was also great, especially given the crowded Saturday night. This restaurant is VERY loud, so don't go for an intimate dining experience. Had a hard time hearing my husband right next to me. Fried chicken was fabulous, and could/should easily be split between 2 or more people. It was half a chicken. I guess that justifies the price, at $28. In general, and maybe because it's southern food, I don't know, but I felt the restaurant was way overpriced. It's hard to write that, given the quality of the food, but there it is. $14 for cornbread, come on people! It was good, but really. Son ordered a salad, also huge. Almost as if it were family style. Cocktails were fine, not great. I think if you split an entree and an appetizer, that is the way to go, keeps the price at a more reasonable level. All in all, a thumbs up, just be wary of the pricing and portion size.
The Porch has great food and atmosphere. The first time I came was with a birthday party of 18 and they were as accommodating for all of as then, as they were for two of us. Fast, polite and efficient service. The food is amazing and I always look forward to my leftovers. The parking lot adjacent is an added bonus.
Service and drinks were excellent. Food was good. Not inexpensive but portions were large.
Food was good. Service was curt.
The chicken and waffles was so good! The chicken melted in your mouth! And the Bloody Mary was the best! Excellent customer service.
We usually enjoy the porch. We always have a splendid time at the bar and the best service at the bar. Don’t expect much in terms of service in the dinning room area. If you go for dinner just sit at the bar you will not be disappointed. They have amazing cocktail selections and the food brings me back when I used to live in the south. Will continue to dine here but just at the bar.
2 people on a Valentine’s date night:
-good food & large portions but for why you pay, just okay
-loud enough that we had to raise our voices to communicate
-table arrangement gives an ambience that you’re basically dining w your neighbors
-lackluster scenery indoors
-friendly but very slow & sloppy service in our case
Unrelated to a review, but my significant other caught some sort of sickness a few hours after we’d left & said she couldn’t even stand the smell of their food while she was puking.
We will not be going back anytime soon.
Service for Valentines Day was horrible. We received our order and immediately noticed my husbands order was wrong. We flagged down the waitress and told her the order was wrong she stated I'll be back as soon as I drop off these waters. Instead of coming back she took someones order. After 10 minutes she finally came back and picked up my husbands food and said she would be back. Didnt offer an appetizer while he waited or even offer to take my food back so we could eat together. He just had to sit there and wait.
Server did not check on us while we were waiting for the order that they messed up. I had my food but it took 15 minutes for my husband to get his food after she realized he asked for well done and she brought him medium rare. After not being able to locate her for the full 15 minutes it took to remake the food she finally comes back and we ask her if she could just box it up and bring the check since we were going to be late for our movie. She then brings the check and we see she has charged my husband for 2 meals. By this time we are extremely irritated. My husband asked her if she could please take off the meal and she tells him she can only take off $15...what? We didnt have time to talk to a manager or even argue with her. Needless to say that was a first and last time for us.
We brought a friend along with us to introduce her to the restaurant...she loved it!!!
