Salmon over cooked, beet salad very ordinary, and no dinner rolls or bread. Nice atmosphere and pretty outside area. Need to be more creative with the menu.
The Porch is in the Courtyard if the Marriott in kulpsville. It was not crowded and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and drinks were great. Good stop and will go again.
$10 for a glass of wine is too much!
We needed a place to meet a friend near the PA Turnpike and picked this location. it is inside Courtyard by Marriott, so on a Saturday evening wasn't busy. BUT, we were very surprised and delighted by the drinks -- you could actually taste the alcohol, food -- hot, flavorful, and interesting, and service -- friendly and fast. Great experience.
Nearby, great salmon, divine wings and perhaps the best chicken quesadillas I’ve ever eaten! It was a fine experience!
Their menu on the website was out of date and, thus, doesn't have what I was looking for. The server also served the wrong meal to my companion. The food was good though and the service attentiveness (outside of placing the wrong meal) was good.
Just what we needed! Quiet, friendly neighborhood place!
Good service, food was excellent including presentation, taste, cooking and timeliness despite a busy time.
Very good. Server and bartender were friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
The few vegetarian options were good. I would really like to see some past options as well. I am vegan and my friend is vegetarian and there were not a lot of options.
Our waitress was fun and efficient. The food was good. Great place for a work meeting or a night out.
What an absolutely wonderful experience we had. We have never gone into a restaurant asking for the names of the employees. They all went above and beyond and deserve recognition.
First as we entered, Frank greeted us and was so kind as the bartender. Although we did not get any alcoholic beverages, I did tip him at the end because he was just so god darn cheerful!!!
Cheryl was our waitress and was very informative and attentive throughout our whole dining experience.
We met Kisha, Imani and Devon who all came around and asked how the food was and if we needed anything.
I have never seen a group of employees work so well together. They were respectful of each other and of the customers. I can't wait to go back. I absolutely loved the South Western Salad..I had plenty to take home for lunch on Monday. Keep up the great work. I will be bringing not only my family back but also my staff!!
Well done Team Porch, Well Done!
The place wasn’t busy and looked nice. It took forever to get service and then she spilled drinks and it took another 15 minutes to get them. Service was so bad the lady at the reception desk pitched in.
I will not eat here again.
Unless it is bring your child to work day, leave them at home. It's alarming to watch a young child sitting alone in bar area in a booth unattended with a heavy duty orange electrical cord plugged in and using it to help charge a cell phone from a wall outlet to keep the child busy.
Great as always....
We arrived on a Friday evening to find the restaurant deserted. There was a sign that said “Sit anywhere.” It took me a while to find someone to tell them that I had a reservation through Open Table and didn’t want it to look like I hadn’t made it. The menu looked good. Our drinks arrived. They were large and cute and tasteless. The food was OK but nothing to go back for. I’m not going back.
After making reservations we arrive to a sign that said please seat yourself. We couldn't find any waitstaff or anyone to talk to about where we should sit and it did not appear as if it was a real restaurant but rather just a place where people could gather for the hotel. We ended up walking out and finding another place to eat
Went here for a birthday dinner and made a reservation. No one was at “hostess podium” stood around for a bit until the bar tender realized we were all waiting then he had them put a table together for us. And then someone finally came to check on us. Our server was very attentive though and sweet. Food was good and quality!
This was our second visit to The Porch. As with our previous visit, the food and service were excellent. The quiet, friendly atmosphere certain makes this a pleasant dining experience.
They are changing their menu apparently, but still had “old” items on the current presented menu. Three of us for dinner and I had the worst luck.
Strike one - appetizer no longer available
Strike two - main entree not available
Strike three - dessert not available
You are out! Sorry.
The steak I settled for was just ok. A lot of fat in it. Not great flavor.
Our waitress was very nice, but had too many tables. She was running all over the place and service IMO was sacrificed.
On a positive note at least my wife and son had a nice meal and I guess that’s all that counts.
No need for reservations. Restaurant practically empty!
Enjoyed a great dinner for 4. Service was good. Not rushed at all. Food was excellent. Bartender even met our challenge with a special request cocktail.
As we were leaving, a party of at least 30 were coming in. I would doubt they have the resources of handling a party of that size since it takes up half their dining area but it had no affect on us.
Only negative I would say is that they only have 6 items on their dessert menu and early on a Saturday evening, they were out of 4 of them. We skipped dessert as a result.
We only had apps and they were all very tasty. We didn't expect that from a hotel restaurant.
Good food and friendly service. Oddly, they did not have our reservation when we arrived even though we received a confirmation from open table. We were informed that their restaurant “does not connect with open table.” Very strange. Perhaps they are discontinuing their membership. Luckily they did have an available table when we arrived...we had a lovely evening.
The food was amazing as it always is! It was cooked to perfection and came out fast even though it was busy! Tasty drink menu as well. Our server Nicole was the best!
Excellent time at The Porch! Beautiful decor, very friendly and accommodating staff, and the food was excellent! The grilled caesar salad was large and beautifully presented. The crab cakes were delicious! And the chicken skewers were over an onion-mayo-based slaw which was super tasty! The waitress checked in on us frequently, and provided exceptional service. Highly recommend The Porch!
It took a few minutes to get noticed by the staff when we arrived. They didn’t seem like they knew we made a reservation but they were not busy at all. They sat us in the dining room past the bar. We were the only ones in that section for our entire meal. Our server was extremely attentive and catered to our every need. She was never far away and my cup was never empty. We ordered the spinach dip, beat and goat cheese salad and pork sliders. All was pretty good and sizes of everything were decent. Overall we had a nice experience and would return again.
The food was excellent. There was no one to greet you and the bartender yelled out that we could sit anywhere. I found this unprofessional.
The Porch was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much from a hotel restaurant but my meal, my wife's meal, and our friend's meal were all delicious!
The food, overall, was very good! Burgers were both cooked to order, although they each came with tomato which was requested to be omitted. One came with a brioche bun, one with a different bun. But they were quality burgers, and my picky daughter finished hers completely. Fries were extremely good. Risotto was delicious and the proper consistency. Pork chops were a little dry. They came with delicious garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly grilled asparagus. Service was friendly.
We asked if our server turn down the loud music, and she graciously did so right away.
Service was not as attentive as it could have been. Even on a slow night, they did not notice there were not enough utensils on the table, or that drinks needed replenishment, things like that. But all our servers were very personable and friendly.
The ambience isn’t memorable. There are strong overhead lights, and votive holders on the tables contained no candles. While the bar area has colorful art, there is very little color in the dining room itself beyond earth tones. An outdoor seating area looked inviting, but didn’t appear to be open. I know it’s a hotel dining room, but a splash of color and some candles might make it more inviting.
Including 2 cocktails and 2 desserts, the bill came to about $30 per person for a family of 4. Pretty good value for the high quality of the food.
My husband & I met for happy hour before going over to the Phipps. Sat in the bar area and it was very crowded & noisy for happy hour as would be expected, lots of people standing. We had a couple of appetizers that were tasty, but not outstanding. I think I would like to go back & sit in the dining area, their flat bread or pizzas looked good.
The porch was great! Went there for Mother's day and the food was excellent. May be over looked because it's in a hotel, but I would definitely recommend it to any and everyone
Service slow. Food not delicious.
Nice place, food was good, drink way over priced
I had the bacon wrapped tenderloin, it was excellent. Service was very good.
This was the weirdest restaurant ever! I had a reservation for a Saturday night only to come in and find a sign that said seat yourself and not clean available tables. Full of screaming kids. Did not realize it was in a hotel. No one even acknowledged us so we left. Then I couldn't reserve at another restaurant.
Surprising Find! We tried this restaurant because the menu sounded like something we'd like to try, and frankly it was New Year's Eve and early but we were planning on staying at home, we just needed to eat dinner first after a long day. So, we went there, and were so impressed that the place was a real restaurant, not just a food service place in a hotel. We were told to sit anywhere we wished. So we sat at a lovely small 4 top, that was right next to the fireplace, and under a big flat screen that had a college football game on. The sports vibe was fine, and I'm sure if we had asked they would have changed the channel, since there were only a couple other tables nearby, and there were more TVs for them to see. We were delighted with the menu, and the food was stellar. We had Braised Short Ribs, with sweet potato mash, a serving of garlic parmesan wings, a delicious chicken and pasta dish with bacon cream sauce, and for dessert chocolate ice cream, a cranberry bread pudding and Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream. Our meals were all fantastic, giving us the satisfying end of the day we so longed for. The food is very high quality, and the chef must be well trained, because everything balanced wonderfully. The flavors were spot on, and we are used to eating out a lot. Fine Dining at a hotel in Towamencin was not what I was expecting, but it sure is what we got! Our server Alysse was great. She was prompt to take our order and brought the food out quickly. She also took our check promptly too, which is just as important when you've had a long day. Myself and my Goddaughter are interior architects, and design can make or break an evening, this place was very well designed. From the comfortable wicker chairs, to the amazing, gorgeous lighting to the tasteful chilewich placemats, to the LED candles on the tables, we were smitten. We were very impressed and will return for sure.
The Porch has good food and outstanding service. We will definitely make a return visit!
