Absolutely love this restaurant. Their food is solid, the decor is great, and service is awesome. Thumbs up all around.
Everything was good but the Pasta dish! Jordan our waitress was very good! We were told all pastas were home made. Disagree and certain of it.
This was our first experience at The Ponte and we will definitely soon be back for more. Although the menu is a bit limited, the advantage is that you'll find a yummy selection for nearly every palate and taste. The pizzas and the pastas are amazing. The carnivores will order the veal and pork polpette appetizer to add to the highly shareable signature pasta pomodoro. Our waiter, Gilberto, guided us through the menu and the system. He was attentive, efficient and fun to work with. It was plain to see that management at The Ponte is on a mission to combine creative and tasty preparations with quality ingredients and top drawer service.
Sit outside on the patio if you want conversation to spice up your dining adventure.
Amazing experience every time. The pasta is perfect as always, we introduced our little ones to it this time and they loved it, and they are big critics.
It was quite interesting night at the Ponte , as we arrived on a rainy LA night we were told to wait till a table empties but it was already 9:45 and everyone was hungry in our party of 6 , the manager was very nice that he offered us a bottle of prosceco to enjoy with a variety of appetizers in their waiting area , the food was exquisite from the polenta with truffle to the burrata dish and the charcuterie board everything had an amazing taste with a twist !!
As our table was ready by the wine cellar everyone in our party enjoyed their plate they ordered , but I ordered the lamb shank it was phenomenal I really would come back for this dish , for fish lovers the seabass was amazing as well as the woodgrilled branzino thumbs up !!
Service was warm and welcoming starting with the friendly, professional bartender to the sommelier and wait staff. The pasta was house-made and the sauce was amazing. Shrimp and beef rib starters were flavorful and generous - our party of three were able to enjoy generous portions of all the appetizers. Margherita pizza was, hot, crispy and flavorful, with just the right size dollops of buffalo mozzarella. Overall, would recommend to anyone. Great vibe, cool, classic bar area with a focus on aperitif-based cocktails and a wide variety of Japanese whiskey brands, attentive service and delicious, well-prepared food.
The bartender and host were fantastic, made us feel welcomed and taken care of. Our waiter was okay. Food was excellent, however, a bit over priced. We loved the location and would visit again.
We had intended a reservation through Open Table on 2/15, however, a glitch changed the reservation to 3/15. When we arrived to The Ponte, they did not have our reservation. They did still honor it by giving us one of the best tables. The food, drinks and dessert were all well-received and the overall price very reasonable for a contemporary dinner. Worth every bite!
Fantastic dinner, service was excellent. Just a little loud, and the tables are a bit close, but that's the the nature of this restaurant. Overall, an excellent experience and we loved it.
Overall great dining experience. Delicious seasonal options along with several classic dishes, all cooked and plated to perfection. Beautiful mid-century modern dining room and cozy outdoor patio.
delicious food, the polenta has such deep flavor, Hamachi was delicious, should have been served between the polenta and pasta to clear the palate.
Everything was great: the food, the wine, and the service
Great experience! Our third time there and in never disappoints! Even when an unexpected rainstorm drove us from the patio to inside, the staff was awesome and accommodating. The pasta is to die for!!
Food and drinks were an +A. Highly recommend the porchetta hash, accompanied by the best in show cocktail.
Food was mostly very good, indoor atmosphere (too cold for the pretty garden) was a missed opportunity. Overall value for the money just was not there - there are so many better and more atmospheric options in town at these prices.
We planned for weeks to go for a birthday celebration. We ordered the tasting menu, and it was delightful! I have to admit, when we booked this reservation it was just all about going to a restaurant owned by Scott Conant and more about the novelty. We have gone to Giada's in Vegas and several other "celebrity" restaurants and have ALWAYS been disappointed. Let me promise you will NOT be disappointed at the Ponte. The food was wonderful with all different flavors and experiences. Do not fail to order the whipped ricotta with truffle honey for one of your appetizers. We were stuffed long before desert, what a fun night! Looking forward to a return trip
This place is more style than substance. I’ve been twice and while the food can be good, it’s too hit or miss to justify these prices. You’re paying for location and semi fanciness. The pizza was so mediocre, we sent it back. The pasta pomodoro is great though.
If you want to spend money to show you can or impress a date, this is a good place. If you actually want a restaurant that delivers high quality dishes consistently, keep looking.
After Pane Vino closed, we thought we lost the most romantic patio-dining in LA . The next two incarnations preserved the patio, but the food was definitely not up to par. And now, as Le Ponte, it's back! Starlight dining and absolutely wonderful food and a great wine list. The waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable.
Expensive, but worth it.
Our food was good as usual. Our fishes included the mushroom ravioli, wood roasted shrimp and lamb shank. All were tasty and prepared at the level I have come to expect at Ponte. Jon our requested server was attentive and engaging as usual although he was busy with large parties inside . One issue which brought a little consternation to our table was alcoholic service. First of all, the lady at our table asked for a recommendation for a full bodied white. It presented not by the regular sommelier but a new person with an Italian accent. After she approved it, he poured a portion similar to a flight tasting portion and not the usual pour for this restaurant. She did not drink it. Finally, on the bill we noticed a $6 mixing charge for each of our 6 martinis. This was not a call upgrade but an extra charge which they found hard to explain. After our complaint, it was removed. So be careful. Check your bill. They supposedly have a new GM and this could be his doing. I hope not. I like this place.
The Food was sensational. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend the tasting menu. Best bang for your dollar. One of our best dinners we have ever had. We will absolutely return and would be more than happy to have the same server. She was phenomenal
The experience was good and we plan to return to try it all again. However, it bears noting the following points: (1) the hostess was not as warm and accommodating as one would hope; (2) the food was great though it did not always arrive at the right temperature; and (3) while the service was generally good, it felt as if we were being rushed out.
It was a 'decent' experience, not one I would rave about or plan to visit again. Service was 'ok' and the food was good, just not memorable.
Lovely back patio area, delicious food, attentive service. Was able to change my dish to a gluten free option without any problems whatsoever. Enjoyed it very much. Oh, lastly the valet parking charge was reasonable.
We had to wait 1 hour between our appetizer course and our entrees.
Wish there was a 4.5 rating I could give. Food was great. My only complaint is steak was not as tender as I expected and they were out of the dessert we wanted. Service was great. Outdoor patio is a must for couples!
The food was amazing and the service was excellent
Easily one of my favorite places. Made for a perfect Valentine’s Day.
Food was not as good as i had hoped.
Last time I went we were in the amazing patio but due to rain we experienced the inside restaurant and nice bar, and everyone loved it ! Nice vibes, good wines(and knowledgeable sommelier), the food was good and the owner kept a friendly eye on every table as the rain disturbed the sitting plans but did not seem to bother the team. Good work, we'll come back Thanks !
Lovely. Generous service, as we came with our dogs. Food was perfect, setting as always delightful.
The food is expensive for the portion & quality. The side of potatoes was all potato skin, the eggs were overdone and they also brought us a dirty cup of coffee with lipstick print on it. We didnt have any alcohol & it costs $100 for brunch for 3 people for a small dish each.
Excellent meal! Scott Conant does not disappoint! Beautiful patio seating, the only slight annoyance was the occasional leaf falling on your plate. The polenta is a MUST!
Food is delicious but the restaurant has gotten so loud, it’s a very unpleasant experience on a Saturday night. They have a very unclear system for requesting a garden table, so although we arrived on time and had requested a garden table twice before arriving, we were told that a group at the bar would be seated there.
Try a Tuesday night, if possible, but avoid weekends if you want to hear the people you’re with.
I liked it, but my wife did not. Since it was for her birthday, that was not such a good thing. The menu was somewhat limited, fairly expensive and everything was very rich and heavy-flavored. My wife has a delicate pallet. She prefers light flavored-food.
But I enjoyed it. Our cocktails were great. The ambience was very nice. The pasta was excellent.
The waiter was very attentive, but we could not understand anything he said.
They bungled our order and we had to wait a long time for our food. Since we had our 11 year old daughter with us, that was also not a good thing.
They gave us a complimentary desert for my wife's birthday, but the polenta cake did not have much flavor.
I really love the food at Ponte - its a very well executed menu. The problem, at least on 02/10/18, was that the service was the worst service I have had at any similar caliber restaurant in at least a decade (and we eat out most weekends). It was horrendous - our waiter (who wore way too much cologne) was lost in action after he took our initial order - never saw him again. All subsequent interactions were with the busboy - and even then no one ever came by at the end of our meal to check in on us or offer a desert menu etc. I finally had to track down the hostess just to get our bill paid so we could get out of there. The table next to us sat for 30 minutes with their menu's down and no one came to take their order. It was complete chaos. If I could only get the food as take away.
We took our family of four here to celebrate a pair of young adult birthdays. Everything was wonderful; we tried about 1/2 dozen menu items across the menu and really enjoyed everything. The service was very gracious and had a great evening. This was our first time here and will plan to go back to try more of the menu.
Absolutely amazing food and very reasonably priced for the quality
I usually love the food here, but tonight it wasn't as flavorful.
Excellent food and service. Wine list limited to Italian wines. Corkage fee of $ 40 is excessive and limits bringing non-Italian wines to dinner.
The patio space was wonderful and the servers were very attentive. The issue I have is that I did my reservation on open table and checked the menu to see that there were items for a guest who is allergic to dairy. No problem, the branzino or roasted chicken and other dishes would work. I did note that the prices looked reasonable. However, upon arrival and looking at the menu I noticed that what were noted on open tables menu for this place were very different. The branzino was shown at $27 whereas in the restaurant the price was $35 — an $8 difference. All the dishes were substantially higher than shown on the menu on the open table website. A $1 or $2 difference- no problem, but when you raise them like the branzino, it seemed like bait and switch. And everything we ordered was more than shown on open table.
The chicken , hamachi crudo, bass and most everything were very good, although my friend did say his branzino was a little dry.
I have no issues with restaurants raising prices, but if you’re going to participate in open table, you should make sure all is correct.
