We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was expensive but worth it. The food was excellent, the ambience and decor of the restaurant outstanding and the waiting staff really attentive without being overly fussy. We had the secret tasting menu with accompanying wine. Each dish was better than the last and was accompanied by some really unusual wines. Three and a half hours of food and wine heaven. My only slight disappointment was that I made a schoolboy error when paying the bill. I only realised afterwards that the bill included a service charge and, so at the time, left a fairly obvious generous tip. I might have expected the waitress to confirm that I wanted to leave a tip. Nevertheless, a schoolboy error and it won’t stop us from going back. In fact planning on taking our Gourmet Club buddies there.

The food was incredible, the wine was the best I've had in a while and the restaurant itself was extremely beautiful. They are extremely helpful with dietary requirements (1 gluten free and 1 dairy) and you could pretty much eat everything on the menu.

Lovely restaurant with a great view of the castle and excellent service from the staff. Really nice atmosphere in the dining room as well. Had the vegetarian discovery menu. Delicious as usual!

We booked through OpenTable, received the confirmation email. When we arrived, they said that they hadn’t received the booking and had no free tables. Recommend that you book directly by phone or in person...

Arrived on time. Sat at table 30 minutes before a server brought us some appetizers from the chef. NO menus, NO drink order taken. Another 20 minutes and we finally receive menus and a drink order is taken. Drinks come and are set in front of wrong people. Food comes after 35 minutes! Again, some plates put in front of wrong people. Service was horrendous. The restaurant was not full. Some dishes were good, others nothing to write home about. And for these prices, nothing about the experience would ever lead me to dine here again.

Service was very attentive, and the tasting menu is quite a good value at £70 for 7 courses. A wonderful atmosphere and pleasant overall experience.

Can not fault the food quality coupled with a nice wine list makes this an great proposition. However the feel is a bit stuffy and on our night (Wednesday) pretty lifeless. Now it was an early booking 6:30 and admittedly humpday but it just felt like there was no soul to the place. Having said that food excellent - so would go back but maybe next time a bit later in the evening and the week.
