Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this establishment. Unfortunately Open Table gave me the wrong information. I booked a table for 7pm but the pub does not serve food after 5pm. I will never ever use Open Table to book again as this was most inconvenient because we had made a special journey. Please ignore the star ratings that I've given for the food as we did not eat. However, we had a nice pint of real ale while we were there and chatted to some friendly locals. So my advice would be to book direct by phone if you want a daytime meal.

No longer except bookings through this booking site, arrived at 5pm as per booking to be told food finished at 5pm. We’d walked a mile and a half with small children so had to go back get the cars and find something else on waster Sunday not very good service at all

I booked a meal on 26th January for my husbands 75th birthday - what a mistake! We arrived to be told by the bar staff that approx half the meals, listed on the menu, were unavailable. As there was only 3 choices, of starters, onion bahji, garlic mushrooms & soup, 2 of us chose soup - only to be told there wasn't any. This meant that only two out of the party were able to have a starter, as the other options weren't to their liking. Excuses were made that the pub was in between menus, but we should have been informed of this when booking, as this would have been known to them and they were clearly unprepared to provide food. Brushing this aside when our starters arrived we were greeted by a very unprofessional landlord ,who informed us that his chef had been sacked on Xmas Day - Merry Christmas....It was January 26th why we were told that I've no idea. We waited approx 1hr for mains, why I don't know as the only other table having food had finished & left. The Chilli my son and husband had ordered was the smallest they've ever had, ( we think 1 portion was divided into 2.) The overall quality of all the food was VERY poor. As it was a birthday and my husband and son were still hungry, (due to the meagre portions,) we ordered a dessert.....After waiting another 45 minutes it never arrived, (what a farce!) and we asked for our money back (for the dessert.) The attitude of the landlord was diabolical, insisting it was beyond his control - who's fault was it then? The only positive was the 2 girls who couldn't apologise enough and were clearly overworked - we felt very sorry for them, hence the 1 star. Suffice to say this ruined what was meant to be a very special birthday treat. We won't be returning and would never recommend it.
