We had a lovely birthday meal with friends, the table service started week but trailed off. We love the food here and often come, but this evening our meals took a very long time, which is unusual. It was delicious as ever when it did arrive.

Excellent value. Gammon was so tender and the apricot sauce was delicious. Gluten free too. My husband had the boatman ploughman's which was equally filling and good value.

We were looking forward to enjoying the Sunday lunch menu advertised so booked a table for 5pm, on arrival at the carpark it was obvious how popular the pup was with so many cars, we were seated at our table and drinks order was taken and received quickly the started arrived about 20 mins after the food order was taken this was delicious, however an hour and twenty mins after sitting down at 5pm we were still waiting, the waiting on staff were so busy they hadn’t seen our glasses were empty and we were still waiting, my husband asked how much longer the wait would be and we were told a couple of mins more, they then took another order of drinks and our food finally arrived, This too was delicious but the wait was too long, we were given our drinks as complementary but the wait did take the shine off for us.

Service was brilliant did not have to wait long for our food. Will be going back. The staff are very friendly and helpful

We live over an hour away. But for the past 10 years when we are near the area we always try eat at the plume. Never had a bad experience. Always excellent.

Been a few times before but first time for Sunday lunch. Didn’t disappoint and the desserts were great!

As a very regular diner and drinker at the plume of feathers, I was yet again disappointed with my recent experience. The bar and waiting staff are great as they have not changed since new ownership, but the food level has deteriorated significantly. The gammon was completely dried out and it was easier to shred it rather than cut it. The plates were cold yet again as were the sweet potato fries which were pale, limp and barely above room temperature. The waiting staff dealt with this really well and brought out replacement fries which were piping hot. Why are the chefs sending out substandard food? They must know they are doing this but seem accepting of low standards. More frustratingly, this is identical to what I put in a review from around five weeks ago and despite an acknowledgement that my remarks would be shared, clearly this hasn’t happened so it’s probably pointless to write a review. The plume has been a massive success and we have patronised it for many years. Customers will go elsewhere unless former standards are met.
