A hidden gem in the heart of the Cornish countryside, The Plume of Feathers in Mitchell is all you could want in a classic dining pub. Voted Muddy Stiletto's best destination pub in Cornwall 2024/25 this 16th century, former coaching inn is charming, warm and cosy. A bright and airy conservatory sits alongside the original building offering quality food and service in a contemporary setting. On a sunny day the beer garden is a great place to relax and enjoy a refreshing drink.

Independently run, by the same family since 2000 The Plume of Feathers has built an excellent reputation within the local food scene. Head Chef Andrew Dudley showcases the best of Cornish Produce in a menu that is full of flavour and his signature imaginative twists.

Conveniently located just off the A30, ‘The Plume’ is a great destination dining venue for breakfast, lunch or dinner whilst exploring all Cornwall has to offer. Recommended to book ahead (especially on weekends and for Sunday lunch).

Great meal. Food good service good. Company good. Not too busy. Waiting time good. Parking good. Had roast. Probably a few more roast potatoes would have been. Crumble desert was exceptional

We live locally to the Plume of Feathers and have visited often but unfortunately after our visit last evening we will not be back and will be recommending our friends and family not to visit. Our booking was for 6.45pm so not a late one and they had run out of the basic side dish of salad and also one of the main meals on the specials menu. One diner had a steak which was extremely under cooked and when it came to desert we had to wait a long time for someone to take our order only to be told we'd have to wait between 20-30 minutes for it to be served even though we only wanted sorbet as a large table of guests had arrived and they were taking their order of starters and therefore they were unable to serve us any quicker. We paid for our main meal and left very very disappointed having felt as though it was just tough luck it had been such a busy day at the restaurant so the manager said. We are people who rarely complain I can't remember the last time we did so but it wasn't worth our breath doing so last night. In the last week we have eaten in several restaurants, pubs, cafes and also a garden centre whilst showing friends what our glorious county of Cornwall had to offer and the Plume of Feathers was a total let down on the last evening of their holiday. So we will not recommend the Plume of Feathers in anway to anyone. On very disappointed and disgruntled customer.

My friends and I meet there an a regular basis as its a central point for us all all . It is a lovely light restaurant great relaxed atmosphere. The staff are amazing and the food is great. We are working our way through the menu.

We ate in the sun room which is lovely! But the noise was overwhelming! As there were two large party’s As we are seniors are hearing is not quite as good as the youngsters so found it hard having chit chat between us ! Did ask when we arrived if there was a table in the other part of pub ! But no joy as they were all taken !

My wife and I dine at the Plume of Feathers regularly . We have yet to be disappointed . The food is always excellent as is the service and staff . Domi is a real asset to your company and I think without her the foundations will start to crumble ! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DOMI !
