The Plough is a cosy country pub, just outside Rye, with a beer garden offering picturesque views of the Brede valley. Our food offer is pub classics made incredibly as well as creative cooking, whilst being ingredient led. We primarily use British produce and work with local suppliers to ensure we always source the very best ingredients we can get our hands on. Inside we have a warm atmosphere with log fires and friendly service.

Absolutely beautiful evening, from start to finish. Lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in & greeted with smiles. Modern but still got that old pub feel, which is exactly what I like. We were seated and served a drink within minutes of being there ( again, exactly what I like ) My partner & I both said, it’s so rare to not ever complain about anything. The starters, mains, sweets & drinks, were all perfection. Stand out for me was the skate wing main. Absolutely unreal. Never had greens that were so nice either. Would highly recommend & we’ll definitely be back soon. Also - Shout out to the chef, Lloyd. Bringing out everybody’s desserts & talking to them about the menu & what he’s doing there. Really nice touch that

Everything was great except my meal which I would definitely have sent back but I did not want to spoil our evening as it was my partner’s birthday I ordered the onion bhagi scotch egg with Bombay potatoes as I’m a vegetarian. It really was not good….specifically the scotch egg part which was like a poached egg inside batter I would never have ordered it if the menu had stated that the egg was soft and runny as I don’t do soft, runny eggs but normally scotch eggs are hard boiled I don’t think I’ll go again

We were recommended The Plough and it didn’t disappoint. The food and service were excellent. Coming in from the cold, we were seated next to a cosy wood burner. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about food and drink and we enjoyed the relaxed cosy atmosphere. Lovely way to unwind after a long week.

Excellent. A little drive out of Rye, but definitely worth it. Staff were very attentive. The food was delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

Friendly greeting, nice table with a view across the Brede valley, excellent and unobtrusive service. Top quality food well presented, all in all a very pleasant experience. We will definitely return in the future.

Excellent food, would be 5 stars but bit of delay between starters and main course. Excellent waiter but could have done with some support! (It was a busy Friday evening).

The Plough Udimore is a great place to eat. We had Winchelsea pigeon followed by Sutton Hoo chicken and ham pie in pea soup... it was truly delicious. We cant recommend the place highly enough.
