We had an excellent carvery for Sunday lunch yesterday. Four choices of meat of which we were given great portions. To go with that yummy crispy roast potatoes, sausagemeat stuffing , chipolatas , huge yorkies , 7 different vegetables and lovely gravy. You certainly won’t walk away feeling hungry. Highly recommend a visit for it so much so we’ve booked again for next week.

First visit to this restaurant. And it won't be our last. All the dishes that came out were tasty and plentiful. Certainly, we had 4 empty plates at the end. Two of our part had the trio of pork, one had the ribs and chicken combo, and the last had dirty fries. Some of the ribs came home in a box, there were so many 😁 The only reason we took a star off was because of the apple crumble, which although ok, wasn't brill. The topping seemed a little chewy. And the whole thing was nuclear hot - so unable to eat for a long while until it cooled down. It did hint at having been put in a microwave, but I'm hoping it wasn't as everything else was so splendid. Service was fantastic. Staff were friendly and certainly made sure we were all ok.

We stayed at the Plough Inn for 3 nights and ate there on the first evening. We already had plans for the other meals as we were at a wedding and meeting family. Fish and chips - lovely big portion! Chunky chips were great. Veggie sausage and mash - good portion and served with fresh vegetables and onion gravy. Nicely presented. The dessert menu is huge! Lots of options including sundaes, Mr Whippy ice cream with various yummy additions. A few traditional desserts such as apple crumble (was delicious and came with plenty of custard) and Black Forest gateau (light and delicious). Friday night - was busy with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Didn’t wait too long for our food. Family-friendly. Plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend.

We have been a few times for a Sunday roast. Always been very nice, however our last visit we were a little disappointed with the carvery. The roast potatoes must have been out for a while, I can only describe as chewy. Beef was fatty, chewy, end of the roast, peas where hard and one of the party was looking forward to parsnips and was told they were out of season but they are still in shops.

First time having carvery very impressed very hot and we all enjoyed our meal also staff very friendly and experienced. Will definitely be back .

Our booking was for 6.15 which was a busy time. The restaurant was busy we were given a seat adjoining the bar by the telephone and had staff answering calls and taking bookings right beside us so ambience was lacking. There didn't seem to be enough staff as took ages and had to approach to ask for 2nd drinks. Worst though was the waitresses multiple dangling bits from her bracelets. She dragged through my plate while reaching over to collect my husband's. Yuck. Been there multiple times but not again.

We love to visit the Plough but the last few times we have been, the beef has been very tough, and the gravy has tasted smokey almost as if the juice from the gammon has been poured into the gravy. The yorkshire puddings were so dry that they disintegrated. Such a shame as this is one of our favourite places to go for sunday lunch. On a positive, the staff are lovely and friendly.
