Excellent staff food and ambience. All staff very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend.
The Plough has gone from excellent to just average unfortunately. On previous visits we have been really impressed with the food, but things seem to have changed. The menu has gone from gastro pub to just pub favourites. Which is fine if it’s simple food done well, but the dishes weren’t even great. BBQ chicken wings had no real flavour. Goats cheese left a butter after taste and beetroot was overpoweringly vinegary. The pork wellington was supposed to come with a fondant potato but the potatoes were crushed new potatoes. No explanation for this but the waitress did offer us drinks on the house. She was very apologetic and very kind, but we were disappointed to see things have slipped in the kitchen.
Been several times and loved every meal weve had here. The staff are so friendly and all excellant at their jobs. We love it there and will be back very very soon..
Good food. Good service. Acceptable Merlot. But low ceiling means that dining in the rear part of the building is very noisy.
Attentive service, not intrusive, low key but arrived when required and were helpful when it came to paying, no avoiding eye contact, very polite.
A relatively simple menu but still offering a good selection of meat, fish and vegetarian.options. Our selections were very tasty. The hake with beurre blanc sauce was excellent.
Like the ambience however found there to be too many menus. The bar menus was the best. Food was nice.
Fantastic service and food today for a family Sunday lunch out. Thank you very much. See you again soon
Another fantastic dinner with the team at the Plough
The service was good but unfortunately firstly if you’re going to have a small menu, you need to not run out of anything or at least back up so a substitute option can be offered but also it needs to be cooked with premium ingredients. The fillet steaks while flavoursome, were chewy. I think since last visit they’ve changed the bulbs in the wall lights and it’s somehow killed the ambiance and made the overall feeling cold, not in temperature just quite a white light. Shame as closest pub to us so although we may be back, can’t recommend as it stands.
Nice front of house staff, very attentive. The meal was not so good; it was tasty but the few sprout leaves and hard roast potatoes I had let the main course down badly. The thimble-full of custard that came with the Apple crumble was a bit of a joke. Overall I felt I had paid a lot of money for not very much. Not sure seeing the kitchen team lounging around through the large glass panel helps that much although the kitchen looked very clean and tidy.
I like to support local businesses. I may have been unlucky and do hope others have a better experience.
Lovely meal with friends v pre Christmas. Good food & service - good mid week set menu
A good starter (soup), but the vegetarian main (risotto) was a little disappointing. Very good service, as always.
We arrived and we were quickly shown to our table. The restaurant was very busy with Christmas party's and very noisy as a result but only to be expected at this time of year. The service was very good and our waiter was exeptional as nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and as a party of four we were all happy. Then the dessert menu arrived.I saw Christmas pudding on the menu and immediately said to the others "Hopefully it won't be a shop bought microwave one". Well the pudding arrived and yes it was tasteless, shop bought, cardboardy and microwaved. We were under the impression this was an Al a carte menu and up until that point l was very happy. Why ruin a meal through a little but of laziness and lack of thought.
The steak was great but let down by oven chips
My partner had a Christmas dinner but frozen potatoes
Real shame as the service is great and lovely people
Just don’t understand why they can’t just make fresh chips and potatoes as not cheap
Had a great meal and the service was very good despite there being a large Christmas party in at the same time. That did make it very noisy. The food was extremely good and we all had a lovely evening. Thank you and Happy Christmas.
The restaurant was closed and they were not answering their telephone.
The Plough at Langley is quite exceptional in my opinion - certainly as far as their Sunday Roast Lunches are concerned. Top quality ingredients are beautifully cooked and the service cannot be faulted
Visited the plough for my boyfriends birthday, we had a fantastic evening. Great food and service as always. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely meal as a family of 6.
Good food, good value for money, took a while but it was busy. Quite loud at times.
Lovely place. Would be nice if all items on the menu were offered as a smaller portion for children. Not all children like burgers and chicken nuggets.
Yes lovely food &staff were very friendly &helpful
Excellent food and service. Was great value for money. Plenty of parking as well.
Another great experience. On the whole they always get it right
We’ve now been twice to the Plough and each time have been made very welcome.
Everyone is very friendly , polite and very good at their roles.
The food has been of a very high standard and we look forward to visiting again very soon.
We highly recommend this restaurant
As always, a pleasurable experience. Great value for money and choice of menu deals.
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the staff were responsive. However, my roast beef was tough. It was fairly pink which I like if it is tender, but it was really chewy. I suspect combination of not good cut and not correctly cooked. I dont like soggy veg, but these were too crisp. We also had to wait a very long time between starter and main course. Shame as it's near home
Lovely pub restaurant with a great atmosphere, well cooked delicious food and excellent service. The best pub restaurant for a Sunday restaurant we've experienced for quite a while. Highly recommended.
Lovely foo attentive staff was a small issue with our starter but that was remedied and the staff were extremely apologetic. I surfer with Coeliac and the staff were aware of my requirements and able to advise on the best menu options for me.
Had a lovely time, meal was amazing and staff were polite and helpful too
The Plough has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a meal. Food was delicious and the service excellent. Highly recommend trying the various meal deals that are available. Has become a regular treat to visit there now!
Excellent service, lovely food and aimed to please. Would definitely recommend.
From starter (bread) to main meal we waited an hour! We asked twice where our food was and were advised each time it was on its way. The pork belly roast and fish eventually arrived lukewarm. It was such a disappointing meal - the fish in particular was very bland and average.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was unpleasant as well. It became so loud that we could not hear or speak to one another. The bigger tables definitely received preferential treatment over the smaller tables.
We asked for the bill 10 minutes after receiving our meal. It never arrived. We eventually had to tell the front desk where we were seated and what we ate so that we could pay our bill...
Sadly won't be returning or recommending.
We have been here several times and have enjoyed it whether for Sunday Lunch (particularly good), weekday lunch or evening meal.
We are so glad we chose the plough for Sunday lunch, it was absolutely delicious!!
We have already recommended it to friends and will be back!
A pleasant venue serving tasty food.
A little spoilt by a rushed service culminating in the bill being presented without request or confirming that no further drinks or coffees wanted.
Perhaps unfairly comparing it with our favourite eating places in L’Estartit Catalunya.
Not s disaster.
I had a dinner with colleagues as I am leaving my company and The Plough provided just the right location for us. Food was great as always and service excellent.
It was our first visit, and I couldn’t rate it highly enough. The food was brilliant, the service was on point and the pub was lovely. We enjoyed it so much we’ve already booked another table in a couple of weeks, and are bringing some friends!
Lovely anniversary meal. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. It’s becoming our “local”.
Having visited the plough numerous times, I have to say this time was the first time I've been disappointed. The service was poor. We weren't offered both menus or a drinks menu. Waited an age for drinks to be asked when they came "do you want a glass?" Told there was only 1 left of 1 of something to then be forgotten again before taking our order. Service has always been fantastic but highly disappointed on this occasion which happened to be our wedding anniversary 😥
My wife and I had dinner on the occasion of her birthday. The Plough was recommended by our daughter. We arrived and entered through the door into the bar area. Some DIY work was taking place which was quite noisy. I ordered two drinks and a bowl of olives, to be told there are no olives! Bread and olive oil was suggested as an alternative. Having ordered that I was then told a few minutes later that olives were in fact available so the order was altered. The olives duly arrived, nothing special, could have been tipped out of a jar of olives from Aldi! Got fed up with DIY work so went through for dinner. Ordered Chateaubriand but was told that it was off the menu as "it's very expensive to have and we are about to change the menu". Why have it on the menu then? So ordered fillet steak and my wife lobster thermidor. I've never seen such a thin fillet steak. And the lobster was gone in three mouthfulls. The starter of pate was also very measly. Unusually we had desert because the starter and main courses were small. Whilst the food was very tasty the bill came to £109 including a single glass of wine. Overall, not good value and a poor dining experience. Don't go when they are about to change the menu!
The pub looked good from the outside and had a lovely garden area. Unfortunately the food was very poor. We wouldn’t return
