The Plaza Cafe
The Plaza has been owned and operated for the past 18 years by Chef Doug Gulija. The dining room has just gone through a makeover to give it more of a relaxing/'beachy' look and a new bar menu has been added. Tucked away behind the Southampton Movie Theater and across from The Southampton Inn it offers an eclectic menu as well as an award winning wine list along with friendly, professional service by a well trained staff. Come and experience for yourselves one of the best dining experiences in the Hamptons.

It was our first visit to the Plaza Café. We feel very welcome. The food was super delicious. The atmosphere is very special because it is so intimate. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Cozy place in the center of Southampton with a pleasant bar scene, plenty of menu options and good service. The chicken dish was particularly good ( and so ample I took some home). Definitely a place to go back to again and again.

We had not heard of the Plaza Cafe but it was one of the options offered by the Southhampton Cultural Center with their theatre ticket/dinner option. We considered the three restaurants participating, and ended up choosing the Plaza Cafe, we were not disappointed, in fact it far exceeded what we imagined would be a good meal. Everything tasted super fresh, like you could tell the ingredients were the very freshest available, the flavours in everything we ate had wonderful complex but subtle added goodness. My husband and I were also blown away by the desserts, in house made, not oozing with sugar, but just wonderful. We are looking forward to returning for another sublime meal..

ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN THE HAMPTONS.THE FOOD IS SOME OF THE MOST UNIQUE FLAVORS I HAVE EVER TASTED.THE STAFF IS TOP NOTCH AND ARE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING.
As always, the Plaza Cafe blows us away with their creative, delicious offerings. This visit was our annual girls' holiday dinner at The Plaza, and the festivities started at the bar with Sam's perfect martini and mixed drinks. We had a great table by the fireplace and shared appetizers and entrees because we wanted to taste both the evening's special dishes and our regular favorites.
For appetizers we chose the calamari and the burrata, which never disappoint In addition to several of Chef Doug's signature seafood dishes, we included the duck in the order and it was really superb.
If you've never visited before, it's worth a trip just for the decor -- including the glass tiled bar -- and the cozy feeling of the space during winter time. And of course off season is the best time to enjoy the full attention of the staff and kitchen!

I took my grandmother to the Plaza Cafe for dinner this past Tuesday and it was PHENOMENAL!! The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and efficient, the wine was very tasty and the food was amazing. We both got the Lobster and Shrimp Sheppard's Pie and it was the best meal I've ever had. The atmosphere was even fantastic with a fireplace being a focal point of the establishment, making it quite the cozy spot. The chef & owner even greeted all the tables that were there, he's very nice! Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the Southampton area.

Absolutely outstanding in every way as always . This is one restaurant where you know the owners put their heart and soul into every aspect. This has become increasingly hard to find in restaurants recently .
Easily one of the best meals I have had in years. Pray they have the lobster corn chowder on the menu and oh my!...the scallops were impossibly tender and perfectly prepared in a heavenly polenta.

Plaza has to be one of the best restaurants - and best kept secrets - in the Hamptons! The food is delicious, no skimpy portions of seafood here, served by courteous, friendly and attentive wait staff. Recommend the sautéed calamari, cod and lobster and shrimp “shepherd’s” pie. Extensive wine list, too. Not sure why we haven’t tried this restaurant before, but will definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

We were a party of women and were placed near the bar and the kitchen s something that happens frequently.This group did not want to ask for a better table although at 7 when we arrived there were many tables available.My opinion at the price.s charged there should be. no poorly placed tables

The food is ALWAYS divine here --such a treat!! I love the candles in the fireplace in the summer and roaring fires in the winter-- a bit of heaven!
