RIP Punk and Poet
The food was mediocre and the service slow. Drinks were good and the only thing half decent about the place. What really killed it was the manager refused to accept my OpenTable dining reward, even though they clearly accept OpenTable reservations and rewards. The manager was unwilling to discuss as “he’d never come across it before”. Whatever, I’ll take my business elsewhere...
Service was great, food was slow. SO LOUD and trying to find the balance between bar and restaurant.
Food is great big TVs World Series looks good you should go fun
Great, lively brunch spot and fun location for watching football. Meal wasn't anything special but it was totally fine brunch food. Bloody Mary was awesome though.
Went here for game night. Great atmosphere with high energy and efficient service. Food was ok.
Server was notified of an allergy twice (before and after ordering), still served the meal with said allergen, took it back without saying a word, and then tried to double charge for that meal. Once we brought that to his attention, he responded rudely and brought a new check, still charging for the meal with the allergen.
Thank the lord it’s back! Total neighbourhood gem.
Fun environment with a young crowd. Hard to do dinner with families there as the music and crowd become loud. Food is very good though!
Great experience! Food was decent, drinks were excellent
I can’t believe I lived in South Boston when the Punk and Poet opened and never went there. I had to move out to finally go to brunch and it was all worth it! The food was great, especially the French toast!
It was great!
Food was very poor...both mine and my friends eggs were not cooked and the other guest's burger was dry and tasteless. The potatoes were cold and I didn't even touch the mimosa after 1 sip it was just awful. Table was sticky and plate had previous dirt/dry food on it. The coffee was good though.
the French toast was delicious and great selection of beverages to choose from
Great place to go for 'girls' night. The fried chicken with mac & cheese was out of this world. Plan to go back soon.
Make sure to get the potato bombs. Truly enjoyed my meal as did my friend. I had a variation of croque monsieur and she had corned beef hash. Delicious virgin mary.
Had a small get together for Brunch to Celebrate my Birthday. The wait staff was impeccable. When we got there a little early the table was already ready, and when my mother said she could sit at the high table due to the backless stools and her back problems, the hostess quickly relocated us. The waitress was fantastic as well! We didn’t have to wait for anything and she comped us the donuts as a special bday treat. I will definitely be coming back!
We loved the food, our waitress was busy but fabulous and the atmosphere was a bit loud at times but not unbearable. We shared the chicken quesadilla (very good) for an appetizer and I had the chicken and avocado sandwich while my husband had the Bahn Mi, both sandwiches were excellent. The staff was very helpful sorting out a reservation miscue for my daughter who happened to be going the same night, which is how we found the place. The sangria was good and I wish we had tried dessert.
Met some friends we haven’t seen in a while, live music was playing and the waitress was great!
Best Brunch in Boston
The food was great but the service was extremely bad. We were 5 people, 4 of our dinner took time to arrive but the 5th didn’t arrive till we were ready to pay and leave.
Overall good. We had a couple issues with our food for dinner and it was way too loud at 7pm for dinner on a Saturday night. I would more recommend for brunch, afternoon apps and a drink, or jus going for a drink on Friday or Saturday night. Would not recommend for dinner on the weekends.
Had an awesome time here. Bloody Marys are awesome!
Had a great experience. We loved the books on the wall and the rest of the interior. We went for brunch and it was nice, hearty, good portions. Just wish there was more than one tea option.
First, the staff was really friendly and attentive, but the place was somewhat dead when I went (Friday evening). This has been my second time here and the food is very inconsistent. I ordered a few of the same items since I liked them from my first visit, but definitely not the same the second time around. The drinks I had were good, but nothing special besides the name. Decor and music don't really match the name of the place and that's what I was looking forward to since I love punk and find beauty in it. Decor is just weird and music is all over the place. Maybe someone should create a better Spotify list that flows better instead of going from top 40 to country? Having worked in the industry for years, I would give this place a face lift and change the music so it flows better.
Such a fun and unique vibe. Brings a different dining experience to the Southie neighborhood. Food ad drinks are great!
