Wonderful experience! Food was great! We had reservations and they seated us as soon as we checked in! Our Birthday celebration went off without any problems! 👍

The Green Beans were really done perfect had a crunch with bacon a lot of flavor. Brussels Sprouts were ok, I like mine more roasted theirs had good flavor but a little soft for my liking.

The biscuits were the best part, the hush puppies were good a little on the dryside.

My Fried Chicken was ok, not bad just not great.
My Brisket and my coworkers brisket was dry.
The pulled pork was better, just not a ton of flavor, but moist.
One co-worker got the Cajon Salmom he was on the fence between that and the catfish waiter recommended the Salmon and he thought it was 5 stars, I will get that next time.

I would definitely try the place again, I just was not wowed but it still was a good dinner overall.

We went on a Wednesday definitely make a reservation, the Manager and Waitress were all super nice.

We had reservations and arrived on time
We waited a few minutes while our table was cleared, which is understandable since they were busy. We were seated, waters and menus we're brought, then we were virtually forgotten. It took 45 minutes for the food to arrive and that was only after speaking with the manager. When it arrived, it was cold. Never going back. Totally bad experience.

Overall visit was average at best. Positives were the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken. Both outstanding. Pulled pork and brisket were flavorless and very fatty. The sides were all terrible! Fries and sweet potato fries were undercooked and cold and mac n cheese was one of the worst I've ever had. What made everything a little worse was the awful service we had. Inattentive and generally miserable waitress. Definitely would never return.

We had a wonderful experience eating here for a friend's bachelorette party. The food was excellent, the servers were fantastic (Chris and Taylor rock!), and we couldn't believe how quickly we were served. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to eat here again!

I’ve been to The Pit a number of times. The meats are pretty good (love their biscuits, hush puppies, deviled eggs, and pimento cheese fritters). It’s great for group dinners and the service is always quick and attentive.

Sometimes you don't need fancy, you just need good food, in a good physical space. In this case its barbecue, and its worth it to go.

Sharon was our waitress and her bubbly smile with her pink hair was so welcoming. It was our first time and she hit it out of the ball park with her recommendation of the cheese balls and dinner plates. She even surprised us with a banana pudding for dessert. It was a wonderful date night for my husband and I without our kids and she just made us feel really special as if we were her only table. And clearly we were not. We will go back again, and hopefully we will have her as our waitress!

We made this part of our road trip from Pittsburgh, PA to Chapel Hill. Will make the trip just for The Pit again! One of the best meals I've had! Amazing BBQ.. We tried a lot of it, brisket, smoked turkey, chopped bbq and the fried chicken, all amazing. We considered going again for lunch the next Day!
Service was exceptional! We had 3 servers who rotated and they gave us their Banana Cream Pie on the house for making the trip! Great southern hospitality!
I couldn't finish my plate because of the large portion size and was sad when I had no room to finish!
Highly recommended!

The service and ambiance were great. Food was pretty good. Only I complaint I have is that it obvious a lot their things are made in bulk and then you get a scoop of it. So my Mac and cheese and fries were pretty cold. The fried chicken and pulled pork were amazing though and I’d recommend it to a friend.
