A article that appeared as recently stated The Pineville Tavern had Lobster dishes every Tuesday. When we arrived less than a week from reading the article we were told two weeks ago, before the article appeared, they stopped having Lobster Tuesdays. We felt it was a bait and switch. We will think long and hard before going there again.
Birthday choice for my husband and our family of five.
I’ve been dining at Pineville for over 40 years. This was a remarkable experience in both food service and ambience I am very pleased and will die in there again in the very near future
My husband enjoy his dinner, I did not. I had the crab cake it was very dry. Cosmos were delicious !
Excellent place to eat but a little loud out by the road when eating outside.
Our last experience at the Pineville was nothing like it had been in the past. Long wait even with a reservation. I got the last order of chicken tacos, and it was quite obvious. The chicken was charred, and very dry and hard to chew. No lettuce or tomato with them. Definitely not worth what they charged. Prob will not return.
Well it’s post covid can’t heat your dinner companions. This area used to be a garden now torn apart. You walk through dirt to outdoor wooden tables-chairs w/ umbrellas sadly, the bar inside isn’t inviting and I must say they are barely able to manage. Cash tip for valet expected. This isn’t a one-off!
Waited many years to dine there and was underwhelmed. Could be staff shortages because of covid but we were disappointed.
Million Dollar burgers - the best ! Keep up the great work.
It was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had there. It took forever to get the food and there was a genuine disinterest on management to try and improve anything. We had our daughter with twin two year olds and one of the toddler seats collapsed as well. They were so disorganized and aloof that she finally just left after an hour. My wife and I stayed, moved to another table and our food arrived 15 minutes later. They even delivered my daughters food snd the twins food 15 minutes after they had obviously left. They were clueless. The service here has steadily declined with a bunch of you down kids as waiters/waitresses and hostesses that are late for work, slow to act and generally unsupervised. The owner and/or manager really needs to start paying attention and doing their job managing these kids.
Returning customer to the Pineville. Went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family. We were greeted by the valet and directed where to enter the restaurant. I love the 1700’s architecture and the cozy feeling of the dining area. Our waitress was very attentive and got our drinks and food out in a timely manner. The food is always on point with such a wide array of choices, you can always seem to find something great to eat for dinner. Because it is a cozy place, the noise levels will be a little higher, but for us, it was not unpleasant. I would recommend giving them a try.
Our server was excellent. I very much enjoyed the food. However, it's extremely expensive for an upscale pub experience. Upscale or not, it's still pub food. $20+ for a burger on a lunch menu is ridiculous. Yet, I can live with that if the overall experience is good. What was unbearable was the tiny, tiny tables they cram a party of 4 into, as well as the humid temperature in the main dining room. Also, if you sit in the main dining room, do NOT take a table near the kitchen entry / exit. Every time someone walks in our out, the floor literally shakes.
Sad just wasn’t good , the whole experience
Our server Matt was great! Very good crab cakes. We will definitely be back.
A bit noisy sitting outside by the roadway. Food was great - service excellent.
We discovered this place recently even though we live in the general area. We really enjoy the historic setting and great food. Service is exceptional. Would recommend.
Food was very good. Service was exceptional. Everyone on restaurant staff was very polite and seemed genuinely glad to see us. Will definitely go back.
Have come here many times, but it continues to go downhill, especially regarding the very poor service. Will not be returning.
Your basic tavern food. Nothing phenomenal, nothing terrible. I did think the prices were a bit high —-the cost didn’t quite match the place. A fine place for a decent meal, but not a place you’d go for a special meal.
The server was wonderful and made the dining experience enjoyable. The noise level was a little too loud. Sometimes hard to hear conversations at the table.
Overall it was very nice and the food was good.
A fun place but very loud and the food is just ok. Not bad. I guess good but certainly not great.
Always a solid meal. Nothing to write home about but always pretty good. There is always room for improvement. Waitress was really really good until the end. The kitchen closed at 9:30. We needed to get an order to go and she disappeared from 9:00 until 9:35. Then she informed us the kitchen was closed so we had to go somewhere else for our to go order. Pretty ridiculous that she did not walk around and say the kitchen is about to close would you like anything else. Pretty basic but otherwise really good waitress.
Our table was right in the bar, very close to the two tables next to us, was very difficult to even pull my chair out. I asked to move, hostess said no, I could see the dining room from where I sat, it was full of open tables. The waiter was excellent, the food was average. There was an underage probably young teen seated at the bar area while his family drank. No class.
Good food and bar service. We try and make a reservation but tables are never ready so we opt to eat at the bar. Bartenders are awesome and attentive.
Food was great. The two young men doing valet parking were rude and extremely anti customer. Although I love eating here and the food is always good, the valet service sucks and will most likely stop me from coming back
Very noisy, very slow service, flies were around and when asked the receptionist she said we can’t do anything
Spacing of the tables are not well done
Clients can bump into the chairs from behind
Looks like she was not trained well
We felt the price were high, especially for a lunch menu. The writer was very good.
Wings greasy. Crab cakes mushy. Marinara sauce not the best and ravioli over cooked. Pork sandwich not right. Rigatoni just ok. Onion soup ok
The food was over cooked. Both of the chicken dishes were very tough to cut through. Drinks were not consistent.
We’ve been going to the PVT for years but after yesterday, we see no need to return.
Food is always amazing- lots of options! Portion sizes are large enough for leftovers next day.
We hadn’t been at the Pineville in 2-years, but the food and atmosphere was still great. The only disappointment was the higher price for a meal that no longer came with a side salad or bread for the table.
Fantastic food and great service
Only outdoor seating right now is next to the road. It is like a drag strip. Food was ok but there is a limited menu. Service was ok but prices have definately gone up. Wasn't crazy about a credit card requirement and a cancellation policy that requires you to cancel 24 hours ahead or get charged a 5 per person penalty. Won't be going back any time soon.
Excellent good and service as always
Excellent wait staff, delicious food !
Service was terrible. Not sure what's going on here and if there is an ownership or management change. We've been coming here for years and it's so disappointing to see it's so hit or miss from both a service standpoint and food quality as well. Server took apps and drinks order, which we received and she forgot to come back to take entree orders - we flagged her down after sitting for 10 or 15 minutes after finishing the apps. We were there for a family birthday and the poor birthday girl waited over 15 minutes for a simple request for grated cheese for her pasta... which was cold by the time we received. Waitress blamed bus boy. We didn't even bother staying for dessert. Had we known that it would be such a nightmare we would have gone into town or into New Hope for a nice dinner. Will definitely have to think twice before returning.
Sitting at the bar, Dana the bartender, was overworked without assistance. Pre-pandemic, we loved the place. Looking forward to getting a full staff and full menu back.
Happy to be back. Anxious for the new outdoor area to be completed. Special menu had a lot of favorites. I didn’t ask what type of clams were in the Steamers and didn’t care for the new type to me other than the usual Little Neck or Cherrystone Pineville served before. Happily we were not charged for them. Ordered their famous, and rightfully so, Fried Chicken. Really, really delicious! Plenty to eat. Will have leftovers for lunch today! Our server, Kim, did an excellent job.
Consistent great service as well as food
