The Pines Modern Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Great servers! I came on Valentine’s Day, My dinner reservation was at 9:45 and my date and I were late because we had troubles finding the casino and restaurant, so I called the restaurant and talked to the manager. I told the manager we were going to be a few minutes late ( after hours) and he kindly told me it was okay we will stay open for you “ It’s your special day we understand” I showed up at 10:15 the host galdy accepted us in and and our great server Steven took well great care of us. Steven was the best server I had ever had great guy! My girlfriend and I appreciate you guys and we will definitely be back soon . Thank you staff!!
Our favorite restaurant. The food is simply delicious and the service is impeccable. Once you are behind the glass walls, you would never know you are in a casino. The decor is modern elegance and romantic. They have wonderful signature cocktails and a good wine list. The food is truly 5 star. I usually order seafood and love the miso Chilean sea bass. My husband usually has a steak and being a steak house, of course their meats are exceptional. Decadent desserts as well. A little pricey, but well worth it!
Always wonderful. The dishes are always great and the servers are tops. They always have some very nice musicians playing, at least in the evenings. The desserts are to die for and made in house.
The only negative is the proximity to the loud slots and frenzy outside the doors!
Made reservations to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was great as it had been a previous visit, and the service was very personal and on point. The greatest highlight was the personally signed card noting different pieces of conversation we had with all who attended our table! Unusual and very touching! My husband appreciated that very much! We'll definitely be back!
The service was wonderful. They made us feel very welcome and saw to our every need. Our steak was delicious but we had to send it back as it was a little rare. Other than that everything was great. We really enjoy having dinner at the restaurant. It is a real treat.
The service by Ashley was outstanding. The salads were good and the lobster bisque and butternut squash soup were excellent. For dessert try the creme brulee or the raspberry tart. Both serve two people easily. A talented, jazz-oriented duo was playing the night we visited. This is a nice local steakhouse at which to celebrate a special occasion. The only downside is you must navigate the casino in order to reach the restaurant. We plan on returning.
This is by far the best service I have ever received anywhere. The food arrives when you want it to and the courses are well balanced. Staff was courteous and welcoming it's clear they take pride in their work. The drink list is amazing with lots of options definetely recommend the bourbon s for those who enjoy. They made our anniversary a truly special occasion. Can't say enough good things.
The food was excellent. Service was real bad. Our waitress was not experienced as a waitress. She forgot our plates twice. Forgot to give us our drinks. Just bad service overall. If it wasn't for the bus"lady" who saved the day. I wanted to give tip to buslady and not waitress. So no, I would not recommend...I would have to say service is lousy...but food was excellent.
Lobster bisque soup is very tasty. You can really taste the freshness of the lobster and it’s not too creamy just right.
Ordered the rib eye steak with bone-in and it was delicious. A little bit pricey but it’s sooo good.
Service was excellent. Taylor was very nice and we liked his sense of humor. He was funny -a great guy. Jacob too our server.
Food was delicious, my steak was cooked to perfection and the creamed corn was amazing. Our server was friendly, informative, and checked on us often to make sure we were satisfied. The live entertainment brought a unique but positive element to my dining experience. And a special Thank You to The Pines supervisor Amanda and sous chef Tony for making my time there one I won’t forget.
The food is very inconsistent here. Several trips, same oder and yet they all feel like different experiences. My original trip my steak was ordered medium rare and I received a well done fillet. The last two trips my wife orders the Chilean Seabass, it was horrible overcooked. Chilean Seabass is such a great mild fish, it should be tender and flaky, not hard and stringy. Anyone who has only has Chilean Seabass here has not truly experienced what a great fish it is and how fantastic it can be. My wife was able to stomach so little of it, we literally took a doggy bag, my dog has no pallet she will eat anything. My last trip the pork belly was truly the worst I ever had, was textured and cooked more like a pork spare rib than a truly well cooked and presented pork belly.
I guess if you lost all your money at the Casino and can't get a ride out of San Bernardino it's your best choice... but for those that don't gamble at San Man and only went there for the food, save the walk through the stale casino and head to better places in Redlands or Riverside.
Sorry to be so blunt, but it really was bad.
The service was slow and we waited a very long time to get our food. The server was either inexperienced or just didn’t care. The food was cold when it arrived. The manager gave us a free slice of chocolate cake but it didn’t make up for the fact that our 21st wedding anniversary dinner was ruined. This is the third time eating at this restaurant and the has been the only time I had poor service. However, on each of those three occasions I was seated in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen and never in the main dining room where there is a singer and the singing and music is actually very good.
This is the third time my wife and I have eaten here and it has been good every time. I will admit I had low expectations at first because it is in casino, but I have been pleasantly surprised. There is a nice variety of things to choose from and service had been friendly and prompt. Everything from pork chops to shrimp scampi had been very good and the margaritas are tasty. People who sign up for the casino member card are often given discounts good for a big meal for two.
Superior steak and chops prepared to our liking. Artistically presented dishes. The double pork chop was the most tender I have ever eaten. Aspargus side dish was yummy. My guests enjoyed their entrees: hamburger on a pretzel bun, prime rib, and specialty of day (filet mignon topped with a soft shell crab). We all shared a chocolate cake to finish dinner. Friendly servers were highly attentive.
Duo on stage singing cover song added to the classy ambiance.
This was my third trip to the restaurant. Just as the last two trips, everything was outstanding overall. This was a special occasion, my wives 52nd birthday. She had her favorite steak the bone in rib eye, she loved it and the two sides. Alex our server did a fantastic job and provided a birthday dessert for me and her to share. A overall wonderful evening, can't wait for my next trip.
