   We ate on the patio and it was super pleasant. VERY comfortable seating, so thank you for that! The service was excellent, as was the food. We appreciate the alcohol choices that are locally sourced. And the foot traffic at the hotel provided a positive energy to our experience. Highly recommend.

   Well, we look forward to dining at The Pine Room. We are older Dogwood Club members. The one thing my wife loves - the roast chicken - is no longer on the menu. Can't imagine why. It was perfectly roasted. Now there's just steak, Sea Bass and Meatballs as entrees. No chicken? Are local chickens not available any more? Has chicken fallen out of favor with the general public? What can a new chef be thinking?

   What a bummer! This was an awesome restaurant previously. The new menu is heavily red meat focused, although there are vegetarian options. Gone is the roasted chicken, with roasted vegetables, that was the standout dish. The spaghetti pomodoro sauce was very good, but the meatballs were very dense, like they were overworked. There were chunks of panade, that hadn’t been incorporated. The burger was fine. Our server offered ketchup for the fries, then came back 10 minutes later, to see if we had gotten our ketchup. Nope! She then brought some. She told us the desserts and when we passed, she offered the check. We would have liked coffee, but that was not an option. I had most of a glass of wine left, which I finished. Sadly, for us, it has changed and we won’t be back.

   We sat outside-beautiful day, food was good and really enjoyed the ambience. Awesome to have a lighter meal than we usually book in the Regency Room on Mother's Day. Staff was obviously balancing a lot with Mother's Day and Tech graduation but did so beautifully!

    I took my boyfriend for his birthday. The “market board” but a single piece of bread cut into 4 pieces and small amount of cheese/meat for a large price tag. I ordered the striped bass and it had no flavor. My boyfriend had the ribeye and it was well seasoned but over cooked for what he asked for. The waitress took awhile for the service. The outside seating was nice and very quiet. I would come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I would not have dinner there.

    The fried mushrooms we great, mushroom burger was average. The Kraut-chi burger had a good flavor but the beef was not of high quality. Fries were bits and pieces not enjoyable. The seasonal salad was at a meal price but had the volume of a side dish. The service was not at the caliber for this Wonderful hotel. Go eat in town better quality at reasonable prices. 2 burger plates, fried mushrooms, a salad and one mixed drink total disappointment at a cost of $100.

    Hotel Roanoke "experience" at lunch? Pine Room (outdoor seating over front drive circle perfect for people-watching, weather permitting) is the spot (Regency Room only serves limited buffet at weekday lunch). Food and service good with a number of options (curried chicken salad recommended for sure).

    I just assumed my cheeseburger would come with usual garnishes. It came absolutely plain with just a piece of cheese on it. No lettuce, onion or tomato. we had to grab salt and pepper from an adjacent table. I am a fan of the pine room and frequent it fairly often. Last nights experience was definitely out of character.

    Great experience in the Pine Room! Having eaten here several times before, I was not disappointed! Wonderful cocktails, great menu (great apps, casual dining up to some nicer entrees!) and a perfect spot to meet a friend or business associate! Highly recommend!

    Mark was our waiter and very attentive, the food was hot and delicious. My only complaint is that the restaurant needs to upgrade the steak knives as well and the outdated ‘mason jar’ salt & pepper shakers.

    This was a HORRIBLE Valentine’s Day meal which was MY GIFT to my sweetheart. (What a gift, right?) Our server, Meghan, was wonderful! She was perfect; I wish the Pine Room cooks and dish washers could have followed her lead. The Pine Room is LOUD. There were so many dropped pans that it sounded like a gong! Because the kitchen is in front of the consumer, you see and hear EVERYTHING the cooks say to each other. “I did —- to your MAMA” was over heard at least 4 times during our “meal”. Disgusting. The salads we both ordered were fresh and tasty. The ribeye steak I ordered was tough, cold, and tasted like body funk smells. (Sorry folks) I ordered asparagus but received spinach instead which they did switch out, but left chunks of spinach on my plate. The ONLY good part of that meal was the fingerling potatoes. My sweetheart ordered a pimento cheese burger with no tomato, but he got tomato. The burger was cooked correctly and tasted ok, but there was so much pimento cheese that it actually dripped on the floor! His fries were cold upon arrival - his meal was under the “warming light” for 10 minutes or more. (We know because we WATCHED it sit there) Because of the rib-eye tasting horrific to me, (and the maitre de who tasted it in he back- I saw her) the steak meal was refunded. We, sadly, will NEVER give the Pine Room another chance. I shouldn’t have to pay/tip upwards of $100 for a meal that I wouldn’t serve my worst enemy. I’ve shared my experience from last night with several friends, and they will not waste their money at the Pine Room either. VERY SORRY to have this report. Very sad.

    First time eating here and it was amazing! 👏 I ordered a delicious drink. My hubby got the pimento cheese dip and deviled eggs sampler as our appetizer. Both were delicious. Our main entrées were beautifully plated and tasted delicious 😋 We will definitely be back!

    My husband had a steak that he said was very good. I really enjoyed my flatbread and the warm pimento cheese dip was delicious. Our waiter was not only efficient but also very friendly and gave helpful recommendations. We loved the atmosphere…casual but special.

    They sat us right next to a fireplace, it was such a sweet little area with an open kitchen and spaced out tables. Very yummy! We got pimiento cheese dip to start, the bread was the best part. Totally fresh and delicious. Boyfriend got shrimp Alfredo and I got the mushroom burger.

    Server was very inattentive. We had to repeatedly ask for water refills and drink refills. Huge chunks of time would go by and we wouldn't even see her in the dining room. She even dropped off our entrees and didn't offer more beverages, which we clearly needed. We though for sure she would check back on us shortly but we ultimately had to go the host stand to ask the host to find our server. The entrees (pork/chix) were top notch, however the churros were underwhelming. The experience was definitely marred but subpar service.
