We have designed and furnished The Pheasant in a gothic style, including hunting mural art and stained glass to harmonise with our secluded, picturesque and tranquil country setting. We offer you a comfortable, relaxing and intriguing environment to dine in.

Our menus are designed to offer the best and freshest of local produce, including game from the neighbouring Larchfield Estate and ingredients and dishes from around the globe. As a sister restaurant to the Award Winning Plough Inn, Hillsborough, naturally seafood is our house speciality all year round. Our other sister restaurant is The Tannery in Moria.

Our aim is to offer something to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Our friendly and attentive staff are here to ensure that you relax and simply enjoy a taste of good olde Irish hospitality.

Food was really good and cooked to our requirements - would have preferred more chicken options though. Our server Rachel was very friendly and attentive, she made the evening very pleasant

Excellent friendly staff as always meal was tasty apart from my steak big tuff vein in the middle of it and couldn't chew it but can happen even at home was not charged for it which was very good of them rest was first class. Will be back soon. Excellent restaurant for first class food and great staff.

Went to the pheasant for the first time with my wife , we had a lovely meal and the service and ambience in the pheasant was great , would highly recommend for a good meal.

Problem with table booked. Confusion by staff. Two people had taken table 14( our allocated table). It appeared that no staff member had allocated table to the people sat there??Kept waiting until another table was found. Not the best start to a special occasion day out!

Food was outstanding but the service was very poor, After we were seated and given menus , we had to ask for the table to be cleaned , was offered a drink once, had to keep calling waitress to bring my son his beer which never arrived, we had to ask for dessert menus, and at no time were we asked did we need anything or how was our meal or would we like another drink or tea and coffee, when you pay a fair about of money for a meal you are paying for the whole experience, not just a meal and when i go out i like to be made feel special, i don't like to be made to feel I'm putting staff out, and staff would need to learn customer service skills, a smile goes a long way, this was my first visit to the pheasant and even thought the food was amazing, i don't think i would go back. very disappointed .
