Great food, excellent service, will go again
Great new local restaurant!
Wonderful! It’s become a favorite of ours!!!
A favorite of ours! The food is consistently excellent and the service is attentive without being overbearing.
What a delightful meal! Everything we had was excellent. My husband loved the crispy ribs with zhug and curried goat. The halibut was delicious. The young owners were lovely, personable and friendly. We’ll be back!
Amazing food flavors. Creative menu. Owners came around to talk to people and were very appreciative and had a great enthusiasm about the restaurant
Best meal I’ve had in a while! Will be back
Great meal and great service.
Erica the owner came over and welcomed us.
She asked how are meal was and if we had dined here before.
Excellent dinner for two
Host and waitstaff were all excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was delicious and very nice presentation. All in all a delightful evening.
Delicious food & very nice atmosphere!
Excellent food, well-portioned, and great sourcing of ingredients. Cocktail menu interesting, mind you quite experimental. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Pheasant! A recommendation for those looking for an authentic farm-to-table dining experience!
We brought close friends who were visiting to the Pheasant. The wine, appetizers , and main courses were perfect. We even made room for dessert! We often eat here by ourselves as well. No big occasion needed!
Super friendly and fast service and down to earth staff. Excellent food. We were 60mins earlier they put a table in the bar area for us so we could be seated right away. They offered us extra Oysters as there were extras left from a function. The server made a mistake in our order and they took the price of that dish off. We were very impressed by the hospitality and quality of the food!
Very unique menu that offered tasty dishes in a wonderful atmosphere. It’s nice to finally have options in the area that are not your typical fried food type restaurants. This place has a great menu and I will definitely come back. Loved everything about it.
Wonderful spot! Menu was innovative and fresh.
Great dinner and service!
From start to finish, all was wonderful. From the greeting by the maitre d' to the dessert, we were very pleased to be there.
Food was filled with flavors! Excellent quality. Staff was very personable but at the same time professional.
We are returning in a few days. I am certain our experience will repeat itself.
Divine! Creative dishes in a beautiful setting.
Went for my birthday. Ate there once before during brunch service and it was awesome so have been wanting to go back for dinner. Had the chicken meatballs with bone broth & sourdough to start and they were delicious. Order them for the broth and was very happy, perhaps a little salty but I liked it. I had the scallop app and field salad as my mean and both wear delicious. Could’ve eat a couple of the orders of scallops they were just SO good, perfectly cooked and complimented with peaches, watermelon radish and olive oil. Best part was dessert, we had the blueberry bomboloni it was everything I hoped for! PS service was great! Nice, informative, efficient!
Great meal, great room. I really enjoyed it. From a great welcome, do delcious food, it was really enjoyable.
Things did not start out so well as we were seated at a wobbly dark table and had to move. The menu is diverse with things like bone marrow burgers. The basic green salad was priced a bit outrageously at $13. Gluten free options were minimal but they did have gluten free buns and pasta. My wife got a vegetarian pasta dish that had $5 upcharge for one piece of broccoli rabe. The gluten free pasta Bolognese was delicious and prepared al dente. I understand that prices on the Cape tend to be high due to the short season, but this place was over the top. Service was good despite our gluten concerns.
The host gregariously greeted us and made us feel welcome. Our server, Juan, was knowledgeable about the menu and the beer (which is impressive) and wine list. Our food was delicious. I had the halibut-outstanding!
The night was very nice. The owner and wait staff were very attentive. It is a limited menu, offerings are from local farmers or fisherman. The food was good, not great. I believe that everything is served in a bowl, except the steak and burger. My feeling is that the portion size and selection, did not warrant the prices. Both my salad and entree were on the small side when paying top dollar for both.
We've been looking forward to this meal for a few days but ended up pretty disappointed. Firstly the food has low value. Three tiny pieces of halibut sashimi costed $12, and there was no creativity in either their presentation or taste. My main dish of halibut filet was also nothing more than mediocre. Ingredients were put together without much thought and the potatoes looked funny in a supposedly fine-dining entree. Under seasoned, it left me unpleasantly wishing that the chef could add more sauce. To be fair, the bread and the pork ribs were tasty. But given its general low value, I wouldn't come back again.
Excellent! New owners are lovely
The Pheasant has an innovative menu with fresh locally sourced ingredients. The staff are lovely and knowledgeable. It's not terribly loud, even on a busy night. Our group of four friends comes here for a special evening once a year and we love it.
Good food with some of it excellent: chowder, garden salad, Kalinin, steak
Everything was perfect. Best meal out in awhile
Delicious Wellfleet and Dennis oysters, Halibut special very good, clams tagliatelle a little over salted
Outstanding service, pleasant ambience, and food quality generally very good. Excellent selection of local raw oysters to start. Then two appetizers. My crudo was a raw scallop. Problem was, there were too many other strong flavors matched with it and the pure, clean, sweet taste of the raw scallop was overwhelmed. My wife's appetizer, farmers cheese, was delicious. Both entrees--the goat curry and the local pan roasted halibut were excellent as was the ricotta-blueberry donut which we split. Innovative mixed drink menu, though unlike the food prices which seem about right, the drinks (and wine) are a tad pricey. This is our fifth time here in the last two years. We will return again soon.
The parking at The Pheasant is terrible. One small paved lot. The other two small lots are dirt and are unlined so parking is haphazard. Also thought it was on the noisy side--we sat in what could be termed a porch like area overlooking a garden. We have been there before so we were spared the philosophy behind the menu--the farm to table concept. The clams on the half shell were perfect--fresh and cold with a choice of 2 sauces. The smoked blue fish pate was very good--enough to share. It had a nice texture and the pickled red onions and the caper berries were perfect with the fresh toast. The goat curry was delicious but the rice cake that came with it just seemed like a gluey wad. I did not eat it. My partner had the halibut special which he enjoy but would have liked a little more sauce. The pineapple coconut sorbet was deemed a success though the espresso martini was a bit of a appointment.
Excellent food in a rustic and comfortable setting.
Family of four on cape vacation. Everything delicious. Crudo special, field greens, peach bourbon drink, scallops , chicken meatballs and more. We tried a lot of dishes and everything excellent. Ended w peaches and cream and it was like a yummy deconstructed peach pie..summer perfection. Around $200 w tax and tip so a little pricey bc that’s just one alcoholic beverage and one dessert.
Best new restaurant in Dennis for sure.
Delicious food to table.
We had a wonderful dining experience at The Pheasant. We were greeted warmly and our server was friendly, charming, and informative. The menu is lots of fun -- some surprising choices you will not find elsewhere. Standout dish for me was a dazzling scallop served raw with several intriguing sauces and toppings. I had the goat curry entree, which was tender and delicious. My wife loved her steak.
The Pheasant is my go-to restaurant whenever I’m on the cape. This is my fourth time here and it has never disappointed me. The food and service are outstanding.
To find out that we had a fellow NY’er running the place was a nice surprise! Excellent food, fantastic drinks & a warm, friendly, romantic setting. We’ll 110% be back next time we’re in the area!!!
