An elegant refined, a la carte restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden, The Petersham is a culinary oasis in a fast-paced urban environment. Alongside lunch and dinner, enjoy a delicious pre-theatre menu served from Monday to Saturday between 5pm and 6.30pm and a spectacular afternoon tea served 3pm – 4.30pm every Thursday to Sunday.
During spring and summer months, tables flow out on to Floral Court, giving diners the opportunity to eat and drink al fresco.
Respecting the Slow Food philosophy of Good, Clean and Fair, the menu offers simple, seasonal and sustainable food with a focus on quality ingredients and Italian flavours. Suppliers have been carefully selected during food buying trips, with family owned and run Haye Farm supplying poultry, eggs and organic fruit and vegetables to all Petersham Nurseries restaurants. Drawing inspiration from Boglione’s Richmond family home, Petersham House, the interiors demonstrate a charming elegance.

A showcase of the à la carte menu, enjoy six courses that focus on the finest seasonal produce, quality ingredients and Italian flavours. There is also the option to add a paired wine flight. The entire table must go for the set menu; you cannot combine a few guests dining from the set menu while others dine from the ALC menu. Not redeemable with any other voucher.

Billed as 'Fine Dining' the experience fell short on a number of fronts. The wines are as overpriced as many establishments in the West End and the food whilst goodish was nothing to enthuse over. But it was the service that let them down. Placing the right dishes in front of diners is just a fundamental part of a restauranteur's craft and they haven't cracked it. Poor show.

It was my mother’s birthday and they made the meal really special, giving recommendations and advice on what works best with the food. They also placed us in the back with our own little table off to the side of everything so it felt a little more private - not sure if that was intended or not but it made it more special. All in all an amazing place to eat and celebrate!

Beautiful setting, but didn't think the pre-theatre menu was very good value. Also, not a lot of choice on the menu. Service was ok. Our waiter was a bit arrogant, a bit too quick and not very attentive. Seemed to be too busy elsewhere. The sommelier was very good and helped us to select an excellent, although quite pricey wine.

I took my girlfriend for Valentines. I chose it as the restaurant in Richmond was one of our best ever meals and, surprisingly, this came up on search for good Italian food, her favourite.
I wouldn't compare it to Richmond as the setting there is very special, but I was expecting the food to be similar in quality. I actually complained about my monkfish starter after searching for any kind of flavour but finding none. The fish simply tasted of water despite the plate looking beautiful.
They didn't have the main I wanted anymore so I was recommended another fish option which was not bad. My girlfriends food was better to be fair, risotto was tasty and pasta also nice.
My review might be a touch harsh, but these days if I'm spending £125 per head I'm used to really loving the food. It may have been a bad night to order fish, but overall I was a little disappointed.

Firstly, it was Valentines night and generally restaurants are not at their best those evenings as often the regular guests are not there and the ambience different. This evening felt like it always feels, the level of service was some of the best we have experienced, the food perfectly cooked, timed and served. Together with excellent wines and assistance from the sommelier. Cannot recommend this place more, and the Sicilian staff were amazing. Thank you..

A beautiful spot to dine, close to Covent Garden. Food and service are excellent, but very pricey. The wine list is a bit of a challenge to decipher, very focused on Italian wine, with "international" options few and expensive.

The food and ambiance were good but the prices of the wines were exploitative. The cheapest bottles were about £45 and most of the wine list was priced at £70 +. Offering very expensive wine is fine but please give customers the option of buying wine at around £20-25 per bottle as with most good restaurants. We did pay for wine at £50 a bottle but we won’t be doing this again. Feeling exploited is never good!

We really enjoyed both food and ambience. Service was outstanding and all of the staff were so helpful and attentive. Love the attention to detail throughout this restaurant, you can tell everything was thought about. Possibly on a pricey side but you do get the value. Food was very good and we had such a great time.

Excellent food and really pretty venue. Our waiter was really efficient and very nice. I cannot remember his name but he was from Sicily.

We had a late Sunday lunch with good friends. Fabulous setting but the menu was totally uninspiring and the food was very poor quality. I wrote directly to the restaurant immediately after but received no response.

Beautiful setting but unfortunately the food was just not up to scratch. They had run out of two of the eight starters, which at 8:30pm seems a little unusual for a restaurant of this nature. Crab tagliolini would have been first choice for many of our party. Two of us had the risotto as main and it was fairly inedible - there’s having a bite to it vs. Being undercooked and this was the latter. Our waitress also kept on topping our glasses up to far too high a level - clear point of pushing for higher wine sales which is just annoying and bad service.
I have been before but wouldn’t now return.

Unfortunately the vegan menu is really poor- completely bland. It’s a shame because the Petersham normally does wonderful things with vegetables.

We were in London for two days and I booked the petersham as a real treat for my family, we all could bot believe the poor quality of the food. Most of us had the crab linguine starter, fine, but nothing to write home about and all were disappointed with their mains. Mine was the 'Tagine', more like a jar of curry sauce, undercooked potatoes, dry squash, no cous cous/rice, altogether almost inedible. I am not in the practice of reviewing places I eat in, and never quibble about prices if we are eating real quality, but The Petersham has notions that it is an establishment far grander than it actually is. The overall cost of our lunch (just shy of £700 for the 7of us) just added to the bad taste in our mouths. Our trip to London was made good the following morning when we had the breakfast of kings in Honey & Co, the experience and food we had craved.

We enjoyed a three course lunch after the Cirque De Soleil 11:30 performance. Our visit was easy and relaxing with plenty of choice from the A la Carte menu. We have dined here before and will again!

Very nice atmosphere and interior design. Staff was very nice. Start was good, main was very good (we had the turbot) but pudding let us down (we ordered the pavlova, the merengue was too hard with very little sauce/berries). The menu is quite pricy therefore we would expect all the dishes to be on point.

What a shame. I was so looking forward to going to The Petersham at Covent Garden as I like the Richmond one.
The service was terrible. No smile or welcome when we arrived. Waiter and waitress were so inattentive and grumpy. What have you done to them to make them so unhappy. Not worth a visit

Great food. Disappointing service. We were greeted with a sigh and told they’d given our table away despite the restaurant not being near capacity. Food was slow particularly for our table - a table of three that arrived after us came, ate three courses, paid and left before we’d been given the bill which then arrived and had charged us for 4 people instead of 2- despite the lovely visuals of the restaurant I was very disheartened by some staff members rude approach. As someone who has spent years working in hospitality I’d expected better from a restaurant of this standard. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend.

Starters excellent, waiting staff well informed, polite and attentive, main courses were okay but not excellent - good ingredients (pretty light on meat for £36 venison) but somehow couldn’t bring together to a very high standard. Or at lest a high enough standard for the price.

This is a lovely restaurant in a central location with great ambience and decor. We booked the pre-theatre menu at £29.95 for 2 courses and the food was good quality and tasty but a bit overpriced in my view. The wine list is seriously overpriced too so I wouldn't rush back but for a special occasion or romantic night out it'd be a good choice.
