We are proud to have been selected as BEST NEW RESTAURANT by Greenwich Magazine in 2017 Our hamburger was chosen by CT Bites as one of the Top 10 Burgers in Fairfield County in 2017.
A delightful experience. Wonderfully unique sampling of courses and each one brought out delicious flavors. We had been trying to get to one of the once/month dinners and it was equally memorable to be able to enjoy it for Valentine’s Day. On our list! Thanks for a wonderful introduction to your dining.
The food was delicious, even memorable. The place was intimate and quiet and the atmosphere unique in that the setting was an elegant store, offering books, clothes, decor. Really fun. And small, so I assume it would never be noisy. The wait person was attentive and cooperative: split a portion of soup into two bowls; responded to a coughing spell with a piece of toast as requested, and let us stay as long as we wanted.
Tiny portions
Cozy and unique restaurant offering healthy ingredients and a warm atmosphere. Also offers a personal shopping experience of one-of-a-kind items for gifts or a little splurge.
For 2018, the fall lunch menu was very lacking in gluten free and vegan options. In this day and age that is just not acceptable. Even in Italy these are now commonly offered. Ideally these options should be a) on offer (slim at Cafe 47) b) mentioned on the menu (NOT at Cafe 47) c) gosh forbid embraced by the chef as a challenge; to be proud of offering a few great options when a patron needs these. Intriguing options should be thought through and at the ready.
There are a few cheese/egg vegetarian options.
For the most strict person (gluten free but eats chicken) we had to create something ourselves from very slim options -- we were accommodated -- but result, of course, was so boring. The second person in our party was vegan and did not like the one warm-food option offered on this cold day (pasta with garlic and chili) so she simply gave in and ordered something she would never normally eat.
Our server was not only new -- but did not know food in general -- and did not know their menu. Effort was made but he could not answer any question. Perhaps a rough first day for him; understandable but we had to rate the service low for this reason.
Delicious, healthy food in an intimate, homey atmosphere
The portions are ridiculously small and served without any creativity.. I ordered the corn watermelon shrimp salad which had one minuscule shrimp sliced so thin I didn’t even know I ate shrimp.. cones in tiny bowl with no crackers or bread just this pathetic salad .. my friend had tomato and peach salad so ankh two bites and it’s done.. they really need to up the creativity of the tiny portions so it at least looks like you are getting a little more... dont recommend at all unless you eat like a tiny little bird
What a gem! Everything is perfect at this store/Restaurant. The food is fresh, slightly French and impeccably prepared! The ambiance is welcoming and there are tables and chairs on the porch for outdoor dining. The merchandise in the store is carefully chosen and make for beautiful gifts for yourself or someone else.
Quiet, Cozy and comfortable. Sits maybe 14 inside and another 4 or so outside. We had a most wonderful brunch for our 1-year old birthday. The quiche was excellent
Consistently good food -- fresh ingredients -- peaceful environment
Great personal attention, great food that is presented on beautiful dishes. Will accommodate requests to change order (exchange wrap/bread for lettuce bed).
Amazing food and a lovely place to eat! The brick cooked chicken was amazing. And the opportunity to bring our own wine only added to the experience.
I noted it was daughters Birthday in reservation, they made no mention.
We were initially impressed with food but later in day I suffered a severe migraine , which only comes on when food I eat is treated with preservatives.
So dissapointed
Tiny place with very limited parking. Small menu with several of listed items not available. And price increases not posted: corkage fee jumped from $10 to $15 per bottle. Water charge of $4. Assumed we were getting local tap water.....for $4?
Staff and atmosphere pleasant enuf but expensive for limited menu.
Exceptional food and service.
Love everything about this restaurant!! The last time we were there, the service was a little off & the portions were a little small, but still delicious!
Surprisingly delightful -- food was exceptional and the setting was particularly charming. Guests bring their own wine (slight corking fee.) We had a great time.
Food and service were excellent and the ambience was lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Birthday lunch but every lunch I have had there was excellent food, attentive service and cozy ambience
Cafe 47 is a lovely small restaurant located in the middle of a quaint boutique. You are encouraged to browse before/during your meal. The staff could not have been nicer and the ambiance is nice for a quiet evening for 2. There were some bigger tables but it is such a small restaurant that a loud group would feel out of place. It is BYOB - which is fantastic and the staff are happy to cork and serve your wine. They provided a complimentary glass of champagne to start which was a very nice touch. The menu is limited and changes every few days. However, there was something for all tastes. My husband loved his Asian spiced calamari but my cabbage salad with truffles and hazelnuts was lacking any taste of truffle (was more of a wet bowl of cabbage). I would say his was delicious, mine was not. For mains, we both had the branzino on a bed of artichoke hearts. He loved his and mine I thought was ok (mine tasted a bit fishy). Both of us enjoyed our desserts (chocolate molten cake and apple tart). So the food reviews were mixed but the ambiance, service and effort get full marks. I just couldn't give a great overall review because of my experience with the food. They do serve high tea and brunch so we would definitely consider going back. Overall I would recommend checking it out - it could have been a one off that my food wasn't excellent.
Our favorite spot in Greenwich. Best food in all of Greenwich too!
The staff is like family.
Service was incredibly slow and hostess was rude. Tables are too close together. The food was not worth the wait.
Our Bedford friends took us to a well known Pound Ridge restaurant. The tuna burgers at The Perfect Provenance were so much better than ones they served. LIsa has created the best restaurant in Greenwich!
Great food and wonderful intimate atmosphere
Birthday lunch. Was terrific
Chef Arik's pasta bolognaise was so tasty and good!
Enjoyed it very much! Didn’t know it was BYOB. Would have liked that info before we arrived at restaurant.
Delicious food
Our first visit, the food choices and preparation were wonderful. Brought our daughter last Friday and we found both the duck and ribs options a disappointment. The duck was intended to be shredded preparation that was to be made into a wrap with an avocado condiment. The duck was over-cooked, thus difficult to chew. Both the duck and avocado sauce lacked flavor. The ribs were average. There were no vegetable sides. Just ribs on a plate. Actually there were no vegetable sides for the duck or the stuffed lobster our daughter ate. Disappointing. We'll try once more; everybody deserves a mulligan. Hopefully, all will return to prior "glory".
Awesome experience!! So unique....delicious food with local ingredients and regularly changing menu. Best part....well for us at least....no alcohol served so bring your own wine for only $10 corkage.
Chef Arik continues to dazzle with unique menu and seasonal treats.
Would have been better to not be sitting in the middle of all the tables.
I heard from a foodie friend that this was a great new restaurant that not many people knew about. We were celebrating a birthday and thought why not give it a try? The cafe is situated - literally - inside a small store selling French clothes and small furnishings. All of the food that we ordered was delicious, from the braised pork belly with daikon salad to roasted bass with bean vinagrette. The highlight was the apple tart dessert which was freshly baked to order and topped with a honey vanilla ice cream. The ambiance was the one thing which I had reservations about - definitely not a place for a celebration dinner. I hope that they rethink the dining space as the food is very good.
Quirky setting with carefully prepared food. Limited menu.
This is a tiny place - about 6 or 8 tables on the first floor of a 3 story house. I had the tarragon chicken salad offered on a ciabatta roll which I changed to a bed of romaine. Served with a sauce which I had on side. Didn't need. So flavorful - can't wait to go back. The main floor as well as two upstairs floors are filled with lots of nice things/gifts to buy ranging from candles and coffee table books, throws, clothing/shoes, jewelry, pillows...a little bit of everything and of very good taste.
Parking is tricky. Only 4 or 5 spaces out back.
As long as Outdoor Traders next door is vacant, park there.
We LOVE this restaurant!!!
This is exactly what Greenwich needed. Interesting retail/food combination. The food is as fabulous as the specially curated items for men and women.
Cute dinner spot as part of lower level of store. Complimentary champagne to start, lobster bisque very good, as was the pasta bolognese, steak dish a bit bland. Chocolate cake was tasty for dessert. BYOB, $10 corkage. Menu changes weekly, a bit limited, check online first.
Still off the radar for most because you're dining in a boutique but the food is outstanding and the ambience is like a cozy living room. The chef is top-notch -- if you liked Le Farm in Westport or Napa in Stamford, he's the guy -- just in a more intimate setting. Go before everyone discovers it. Oh, and it's BYOB (with a $10 charge) so bring your good stuff.
