A bit disappointed by the menu, mostly brunch oriented. Wish we could have more choice. The salmon was almost missing from my plate. Service was just OK. Not sure I would recommend.

The place was phenomenal and the service was seamless. Drinks were state of the art better than a few michelin 3stars. Food was insipirational. However, we felt a tad bit uncomfortable when we were stared at constantly by other customers. Probably the place is not used to having non-white folks.

The Perch is always the best restaurant for me; however, the last night on Nov.26th, the food they served were pour. Chicken was dry and pasta was tasteless. The only delicious thing was bread!! Their bread was the top notched. I hope they revive the tasting menu which was phenomenal.

Debated whether to give review. The valet parking staff was friendly and welcoming, so we were off to a good start. We have been to this restaurant previously and enjoyed, but a few things this time around that made for a less pleasurable experience.
The first had to do with our wine selection. Both my husband and I reviewed the list (which is extensive and has some very nice offerings). We chose a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and another varietal, and even pointed it out from the wine list to our server, Chris. He came back with a bottle and offered a taste to my husband. My husband paused for a moment, as the wine did not taste as expected. Not one to complain, my husband commented it was 'different'. Chris then mentioned it needed time to 'open up', which is true. We are always willing to experiment, so we just relaxed and went with our choice.
The whole time we kept saying it tasted more like a Cabernet. At the end of the meal we looked at the label; sure enough that was not the wine we ordered, as it was mostly Cabernet.
The second thing was that the appetizers were not hot. My soup was lukewarm, while my husband's stuffed brussel sprouts were not even warm. No one came back to check on us, so my husband asked the waiter at the next table for the sprouts to be heated. A brand new plate came out awhile later. Since my soup was not that hot, I began to eat it slowly. Would have been nice to begin eating together.
Third, my main course, which was mushroom wellington was lukewarm as well. Was it delicious? Yes, but would have liked it hot. My husband had pork which he said was hot. The food was good but the chef really does himself a disservice by not heating it up properly. It was Thanksgiving and they were busy, but for a restaurant so highly touted, we were disappointed.
On a positive note, the desserts were scrumptious. Both the coffee/chocolate cake and the pumpkin cheesecake were excellent. Don't know if we'll try this restaurant another time-maybe ...

The Pear dessert was outstanding! It looked like a real pear but was honey pear mousse shaped into a pear - even with a chocolate stem on top. All our entrees and soups were exceptionally tasty.

The graciousness of the hostess and our waiter was appreciated especially since while we were dining they received word that the owner of Perch died.

I look forward to enjoying tea there again soon. This is one of a few places in the area that serves tea correctly.

If we describe Princeton town as a crown, then I assume you the Perch must be the most brilliant jewel on it. Beautifully designed space, elegant guests, polite waiters, and most of all, this restaurant offers the most delicious dishes which are truly delights to both eyes and buds. Happiness in this dining experience is beyond my words. Xie Xie!

Went here for brunch on Nov. 7th with my wife, her sister and her husband. We were seated quickly. But it was an hour and 20 minutes from when we ordered and received our main entree. Not sure if this was due to the labor shortage or just plain incompetence. Our waiter and his associate were both very pleasant.
Food was excellent and it's a nice upscale place.
Would return for a special occasion as its pricey.
We skipped the valet parking and parked on a nearby side street, which made for an easy exit.

I dined at Perch for Sunday brunch with my nonagenarian parents. Very fine venue and great menu. The only reason I wouldn't give them five stars overall is because they are understaffed, so service was a little slow and servers lacked the attentiveness you would expect alongside such tasty dishes and elegant environment. ( I am not faulting the servers -- they are working quite hard under the circumstances. Management needs to hire more staff)

Have dined there before and noticed a difference in level of service and menu offerings. While the food was very good, the choices lacked complexity and we noticed they no longer have the tasting menu.
Staff seemed less experienced than previously. They lost our order and didn’t seem to know what we ordered. Server refilled our sparkling water with flat and when they brought out our food they didn’t know which dish went to which person. We ordered one dessert but they brought us two and despite advising it was our Anniversary dinner, there was no recognition of that.
We used to consider the Peacock Inn an elite dining experience but now it seems average.

Tea time at the Perch/Peacock Inn was incredible. We had a private space, very romantic. The food was delicious, as always. Our server was attentive but gave us space to enjoy ourselves and went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible experience. We loved it and will definitely do it again soon!

The Perch is a small, intimate restaurant on a quiet street. The patrons are a bit pretentious, but the staff is friendly and helpful in accommodating a difficult date. Their strip steak was the best I've ever had. Their cocktails are creative as well.
