   We both had a lovely meal and the service was very good. Our waiter warned us that it was a busy time in the kitchen so there may be a delay with service but we didn’t have to wait long at all. The main restaurant was fairly quiet but there were several other things going on in different areas.

   Whilst the staff were pleasant and attentive enough, there were issues with our order. One of the specials and two of the listed wines (perhaps more?) were unavailable. The wrong starter was brought out so we had to wait for soup to be prepared by which time I’d finished the glass of wine I’d picked for my starter. There was a wedding and a 40th birthday going on at the same time elsewhere in the hotel so maybe the kitchen no and the staff’s attention was elsewhere. We picked this as it was a 2AA Rosette restaurant but I don’t think the food we were served matched that classification.

   Welcoming staff and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food was very reasonably priced and delicious. The steak was particularly good value with a glass of house red thrown into the deal! My husband and I had different main courses and desserts and all dishes were scrumptious. Only niggle was the noise level as a large table of diners were rather loud so that it was difficult to hold a normal conversation with my husband across the table. I would go again but ask for a table at the back of the restaurant.

   Creative menu that changes regularly and the food is to a high standard The service is excellent staff attentive but not overly and you are never rushed Always great experience

   First time at the Peppermill and it was everything we hoped, we were there to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and professional. Will definitely return.

   It took over an hour from time seated for the main meal to arrive (we only had "while you wait" before main meal). When served some of the food was not hot. The reason give was a new menu that night, but with (as far as we could see) only 6 tables we would have expected an experienced chef to be able to cope.
