Food was barely warm and underwhelming. Has heard so much hype about this place and unfortunately it wasn’t great. We ended up going over to the Soup Spoon after for drinks and dessert. Should have went there in the first place.

The service was amazing. I had a reservation and once we arrived, we found our table was waiting for us. The food was outstanding. It's like eating pieces of heaven. I have never had such incredible flavors and I will be back!

What a great find!!!! We wanted to avoid all the metro Detroit construction, so we gambled on heading towards Lansing. Boy did we win! The People’s Kitchen was an amazing surprise! The food was delicious (don’t miss out on the Duck or the Pavlova) and the drinks were tasty. We will be going back for sure, and bringing our friends!!

After all the rave reviews I’ve heard, we finally tried it. And boy, did they deliver! Appetizer was blue crab fritters with cocktails—a classic vodka gimlet and a rosemary grapefruit mocktail designed by Bartender Maggie. Dinner was the gnocchi carbonara and pan fried duck breast with a glass of Montepulciano recommended by our server, Joshua. Dessert was strawberry pavlova and deconstructed apple pie. It was clear, each dish was intentionally designed so that everything complemented the main ingredient, giving us a superb textural and visual experience as well as uplifting the taste experience with each bite. The drinks were made with an experienced hand and the mocktail was a summer delight, both refreshing and nostalgic. The wine was compared to a Malbec and was a great pairing with the duck and the heavier dark sauce, while still being light enough to not overwhelm the gnocchi. The service was outstanding. We felt well looked after and even the bartender checked on us. It was a perfect date night and we look forward to coming back.

We selected to sit outside. It was a beautiful evening. Very easy to have a conversation. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly, well informed, great attitude, and provided excellent service. I wish I could remember her name. It was Saturday, June 24, and she handled the outside tables. Food was mixed. Good to great. Charcuterie board was excellent. My Old Fashion was excellent. Burger was good but overbooked a bit. Overall trout dinner was very good. No room for dessert. We will be back.

Had a business dinner last Friday evening. Everything was absolutely spectacular. We had a guest with a gluten intolerance and they were fantastic about providing accommodations. Food was terrific! Each of the 8 of us tried something different on the menu and everyone was raving! This may be the best restaurant in town at the moment.

Was disappointed since the burgers we ordered as medium rare were served very well done and dry but we did not have time to ask for them to be remade. In the past, have had excellent food so will try it again based on history. The server was cordial and attentive and the ambiance is funky and cool.

Loved enjoying a birthday dinner on the patio! The tomatillo salsa for the short rib taco special was mind blowing, the morels and gnocchi really felt like spring, and the general Tso brussels were too good!! Service was lovely, drink list was great and had lots of MI options. All around great experience!!

The waiter and service was excellent and sitting outside was enjoyable. I had the wagu. Compared to the Japanese Kobi, I found it somewhat tough and gamey (medium rare), so was a little disappointed. The rest of my meal was good. My husband had the trout. It looked slightly overcooked. Also he said the carrot puree was a little bland (though I tasted it and thought it was good.) The pavlova dessert was excellent!

Delicious entrees. Service started out slow, but waitress was attentive once service started. The atmosphere is friendly, casual. Cool vibe, but decor is a bit odd. Why have a sign with profanity or a menu item (pancakes) with suggested profanity? I just don't think it makes sense. I will, however return for the food!

So glad this place exists in Lansing! I had the duck, and my son had the steakburger. Both were excellent, but the real star was the Brussel sprouts. I've always liked them, but this preparation was next level. I wonder if they would sell me a pound of those...

Our server was top, she was excellent. I would have liked a few more entree choices though. My date had the burger, which was fantastic. I'm glad his had enough potato to share with me- although my meal was much more expensive, what I thought would be a side of mashed potatoes was what would be best described as a smear of mashed potatoes and a few crisps of brussell sprout pieces. Scallops were very good, just expected it to come with some sides, that's all. For the price, I just didn't expect to leave and have to prepare more food at home. Very good though, if we go back, we'll def order the burgers. I would not order the scallops again.
