Way too loud
The food was decent, the view is amazing. I was expecting a low key dinner and it was very loud, like end of the night bachelorette party loud, but still a very cool restaurant. We would go back especially for drinks.

The view here is amazing and makes it worth a visit. The food and service are also good, but the primary reason to come is the view. Brunch is reasonably priced and generally tasty, though we've had better service.
I wondered why it was fairly empty when we arrived for our 1pm reservation. Now I know. Even the magnificent view and the artfully presented food cant compensate for the deplorable service. We had to remind our server that we ordered coffee. I asked to eliminate an allergen from my salad and I received a salad with that item. The manager took it off the bill and that was very nice of him but I could have been very ill. Did I mention that everything took so long, had to be remade or we had to ask several times, we were there for 2 1/2 hours! How long do you want to spend at lunch?
One of the best restaurants in all of Santa Monica. And the view?? It can't be beat. Top notch all the way.

We were celebrating my friend’s Birthday. The food was fabulous. The service was lacking in that our server did not check on us in a timely fashion to see if we needed more drinks or to ask how our food was. This was frustrating for our group. Other than the slow service, we enjoyed the beautiful space, ambiance, drink selection and delicious food.
Best ocean view, great food and service, the deserts are beautiful with an explosion of tastes in your mouth, love this restaurant

The Penthouse was a very good choice for brunch, my 88 year old aunt. The martini was not to her liking, it was too smooth (we chose a high end gin), I thought it was perfect. The avocado toasters the best I’ve had. I would recommend it for a special occasion.

I ordered the Spanish Frittata which was absolutely delicious and filling! Their prices are reasonable, not too expensive- around $15 for each meal. Service is so polite and scene was beautiful!!
If you are in the LA area for business or pleasure, I would HIGHLY recommend making a reservation at The Penthouse. The food was AMAZING and the view of the ocean and Santa Monica can't be beat! Do not be put-off by the prices of the entrees. It was worth every penny and was the best dining I experienced during my entire stay in CA.

This was a beautiful place with a great view and nice atmosphere. We arrived early and were seated right away. My only complaint was that we sat for quite a long time before any staff approached us for drink orders or even water. Everyone was very friendly. Parking was a breeze with valet. They even had a nice outdoor waiting area with a fireplace.

Amazing view but very loud and not too friendly staff
This was a great find! Between 4 of us all the entrees were great. We showed up expecting brunch, but they don't serve brunch until 11am. That being said, all the breakfast items were amazing and surprisingly filling. So good!!
The front desk check in were a little snooty..but accomodating..If they were as friendly as our wait staff that would have been nice.Old style friendliness goes a long way and makes one want to return.The wait staff was professional and friendly.Great food,great view.Great decor.Wonderful place for a date.The ambience made for one of the best dates of my life..Thanks..:)

Best view in Santa Monica! Cheese plate was to die for. Had the best ravioli and it was delicious.
I was very impressed with the service. When an item we had ordered was unavailable, the chef sent out an appetizer as an apology- a lovely lunch! Would go again.
A lovely experience. We were shown to a quiet window table with a great view and were able to have a conversation along with our first class meal. So often good restaurants are so noisy it spoils the evening. We did make fairly early dinner reservations at 6:30 and by the time we left it was more crowded and louder but we couldn't have been happier with the food, the excellent service and the ambiance. Will come back for sure.
The view is always breath taking and the food and service are great.
The window seats give one of the most amazing views of LA sunsets in the city, and the seafood here is outstanding.
I was celebrating my birthday with friends. We had a delicious meal with unique flavors and beautiful plating. We also received an exciting complimentary amuse bouche. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and we left feeling full but not bloated and gross. The food is all sourced from Greece, the mediterranean region, and local. The dessert was also delicious. Only tiny downfall is that our water glasses were frequently empty for a while. We had to wave someone down to ask for more water.
Worth every penny
Lisa made our evening spectacular. Delmonico steak for 2 was ok, a bit tough in areas. Amazing passion fruit dessert. And we loved Lisa!
The food was excellent. Very authentic Greek items on the menu. Can’t wait to go back again.
