Mastro's Lobster Mashed Potatoes
The food, the ambiance, the live music and drinks were absolutely fabulous. Our waiter an older Spanish gentleman is the only reason I wouldn’t rate this 5 stars, he seemed impatient, unhelpful and was in a sort of rush. He unfortunately made us feel a bit uncomfortable maybe he had a preconceived notion what type of women he thought he was encountering but he seemed to level out as the evening went on and he got a chance to interact with us. Regardless you shouldn’t come across abrasive in your first interaction with the people who you are supposed to be showing your best too. I would come back to the restaurant again but if he was my server I’d request for another one in a heartbeat. Everything else was absolutely fantastic but his demeanor put a sour taste in our mouths as business women.
The food is always amazing, we always celebrate our anniversary here.
Amazing! The service is at a different level. I highly recommend it!!
Delicious foods like usual and great services
The servers were very nice. But the service was extremely slow. Took us about 45 minutes to get our bread. Took a while to get someone to get my check and took a little more to find someone so that I can pay. By the time my steak came out, it was cold. Had it send my steak back. When I received my check, they had charged me for an extra order of steak. Overall, unsatisfactory.
DO NOT VALET your car there! I dined here on 10/9 saturday night. When I got there, I was offered to have my car parked out front. So I agreed because I usually like to keep it in front of the restaurants so I can leave right away when I finish eating. When I got my keys, my left rear door window was open 3/4 way down. It was sort of odd but I didnt bother closing it since I thought the evening breeze was nice. Once I got home, I tried to close the window but it wouldnt work. I called the balet company since I still had the ticket that was attached to my keys. No answer and just some third party operator picked up. She said all she could do was take notes down and someone would get back to me. Come Monday still no call so I actually drove to Mastros before opening around 4:45pm. I explained what happened to Guillermo and he told me he doesnt know anything about it so he gave me Greggs number who is supposed to be the manager? Gregg did not answer at first and told me that the car was the issue. He cannot do anything about it. Someone clearly broke it and there is nothing he said they can do about it. Mastros needs to get another valet company to work for them or I am no longer dining with Mastros ever again. How unprofessional the valet company is. Went to the dealer today and they quoted me over $1,200.
The experience was amazing as usual. The service was great and the food was amazing!
Outstanding food and service! Highly recommend. Well worth it.
William was exceptional. Stellar service that made for a wonderful evening. Whoever the bartender is was outstanding.
Mastro's was overall a wonderful Beverly Hills dining experience. The reservation for 3 included my 84-year-old father, who has mobility issues and uses a walker. The early reservation and choosing the "Penthouse" worked out well. The staff was very accommodating and helped with getting him seated and storing his walker off the restaurant floor. The "Penthouse" open-air setting at sunset was wonderful. At 6:30, the live entertainment started and the performer was lovely.
The wait staff service was very good. We had a time constraint and they were very conscientious about meeting our deadline for departure. We ordered all at once, and the appetizers and main course came out in good order and in time to get us out the door on-time. The only negative was that they botched up our order somewhat. I ordered my steak medium rare (on the rare side) -- it came medium (on the well side). We ordered creamed spinach; they delivered creamed corn. That said, they replaced both items, but because of our time constraint, I was not able to eat my replacement steak. Also, some of the food was a bit bland - under-seasoned but yet slightly over-salted. But back to the quality of service -- I asked them to box our course leftovers as we ate to help ensure we got out on time and they did wonderful job -- they sent a bus-staff gentleman to come to the table multiple times and box up our leftovers. Finally, given the price-point and being a steak-house, I was disappointed that they didn't get my $68 bone-in filet cooked properly, but they took it off the bill (no charge for the replacement steak that I had to take to-go), and our waitress could not have been nicer.
Food was spectacular and the portions were bigger than expected, service was great, despite it being very busy.
Kelly was amazing. We have been to a couple of other locations before and her service was impeccable.
Had late reservations but were seated timely. Everything about the place was nice. My only complaint was the service. It seemed slow. The guy was trying but just slow. Maybe restaurant was understaffed but everything from the drinks to the food was slow. Nice place to visit but if I lived in LA I would go elsewhere.
Yikes. Hit the Malibu location for old-school Mastro’s. Beverly Hills location looked like a monster truck rally in Pacoima.
Personally I’d rather drive to the Malibu location if it means that I’ll have a better wait staff and experience.
Last day in LA
It was just too loud in there. It was hard to hear my lady and she was sitting right beside me.
Mejor de lo que esperaba! Superó mis expectativas y el servicio impecable!
Everything about this meal was exceptional. Our waiter Paul was one of the best. Great suggestions on wine, and very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered rack of lamb, filet mignon and a 24 oz porterhouse. The meat was perfectly seasoned and so tender we could cut it with a knife. We shared lots of sides, but the best was the truffle gnocchi….even the non mushroom eater loved it!! We will be back!
LOVE the Penthouse! The piano girl was awesome! The music and ambience was amazing!
First time at Mastro’s so obviously we had to get the 40 oz tomahawk steak and bone marrow appetizer. Both were delightful. The server was superb and the ambiance was lively and fun.
All of our food came out cold we had to tell them can they remake it or re warm it up. Some of my guests still sent there back due to it wasn’t pleasing. The only thing that kept us kinda happy was the server he was trying his best to make us happy.
It was a nice restaurant. Nice location and amazing food. I got the herb roasted chicken with a virgin Mojito while my girlfriend got the SAUTÉED SEA SCALLOPS with the steamed Asparagus. I had goose bumps upon the first spoon of the cream corn lol. That’s how amazing it was. It was very noisy if I’m being honest as a game was playing and people were shouting and talking loudly.
I requested for a table with a view but got a table in the middle lol which wasn’t as exciting and a horrible spot for pictures. My table candle never came as well despite asking twice and I was charged for the bread and anniversary dessert which felt a bit weird to me.
Overall, it was an amazing experience and I’d love to try it out again sometime in the future.
Cocktails were not good. I ordered Nespresso Martini. First, they gave me the hot glass which seemed just washed and they didn’t dry it. They didn’t know how to make the drink that I ordered.
Most important issue with this restaurant is that the food doesn’t have any design that customers enjoy it.
We ordered some different food and we had plates without any design. They could design plates with sauces, or flower or a lot of things. This is one issue that we didn’t like it.
Then, the service was not good. For any orders, we had to wait a lot that someone came and ask us. Then, he showed up and so quickly left, so we didn’t have time to order and we ordered in rush before he went away.
In general, I do not want to come to this restaurant again because these weakness of services
We enjoyed a fantastic meal! 👍🏻
Steve was one of the best servers I can recall. Truly made the evening. Miss him already
1 year anniversary
A little off this evening — one of our favorite spots in LA, but didn’t get the seats requested on the reservation, and after multiple reminders of a birthday celebration, they almost missed it. Finally, I ordered a steak, grilled medium, which was much more close to rare. When I asked it to be grilled slightly longer, it came out charred and completely dry. I still love mastros but it wasn’t consistent with the quality I’m used to. Slight changes to the menu, many items not available and higher prices due to shipping issues including now charging for bread. Im okay with having to pay more but the overall experience was much less. We’ve had much better meals here in the past. I’m hopeful things will work out but not up to the typical meals here.
Mastros was fabulous! The ambiance, food and the service was outstanding!! Bravo!!!
Lobby was crowded and we had to wait 20 minutes for our reservation. Upscale dress code is not enforced - we were surrounded by several groups wearing sweats and dirty street sneakers. Our waitress was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Food was good.
Absolutely fabulous experience, our server was amazing and made the entire evening a delight. The live music was also very pleasant. Beautiful sunny afternoon on the terrace, food was fantastic as always.
