A tropical twist on happy hour featuring: sunset cocktails, Japanese shaved ice, tropical tacos, and lakeside putting.
About us:
The Penney & Parlour is recently redesigned and features a vast rare spirits library, sunken horseshoe bar and indoor/outdoor dining room with spectacular sunset views.

Just steps away, you'll find Parlour. This music lounge and game room with its own bar and light bites menus inspires glamour and mischief. Come here to pre-game, or stay here to play.

The Penney is open Weds-Sun, 4-10PM with a golden hour light bites menu available from 4-6PM and our dinner menu available after 5PM.

Parlour is open Weds-Sun // 4-10PM and Fridays with live music 4PM-midnight.

We ordered the charred wedge salad and was not good. Our entree was the Trout Almandine with asparagus. We both got 1 asparagus tip each and the trout was covered with chucks of almonds. No taste. Over priced and will not go back.

Husband and I went to the "Sunday Soiree" at Penny & Parlour. This was our first time to try it. It was outstanding! The prix fixe offerings were delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. He had the beet and tomato salad, and then the seafood soup. I tasted both and they were oh so good. I started with the crispy broccoli and cauliflower, and the "almost" beef stroganoff. Frankly I felt underwhelmed by the options, but was oh so wrong. Both were exquisite! The service was spot on. The staff were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back...

The food is inventive, varied and very good. The service is excellent. The space is weird. The prices are high. 18% tip added to your bill if you sit at the bar, but they don't tell you that. Read you bill.

Many dishes for vegetarians but alsi a well-rounded menu. Bacon was on many dishes. The first course of Scallops Rockefeller was best. We reordered it and it came out not as good because it wasn't crisp as the first one.

After reading a few reviews about the restaurant being newly renovated and “still trying to work out the kinks” we were a little skeptical about how the food and service were going to be, and it is safe to say they have worked out the kinks because the food, the service, the ambiance were all phenomenal. Highly recommend!

Even though we had to send back 4 cocktails that were poorly made, the service made up for that bad experience. The food was delicious and the server knew how to course the appetizers and the main dishes. We wouldn’t go back for dinner but definitely for lunch.

We had an unfortunate experience in the Parlour. Our table was ready so we wanted to cash out. We ordered 2 cocktails. We were not given a receipt. We were told the two drinks were $38.99. I questioned how two drinks ran up so high. Then the bartender hawked us for a tip. So we paid $45 for two drinks. We found out later that there was an automatic 18% added. The waitress felt bad and made up for it. The scallops were very tasty but the portion was way too small for an entree.

This establishment is a welcome addition to the Rancho Mirage/Palm Desert dining scene. We started with innovative cocktails in the Parlour. Piano music is a nice addition. Dinner at the Penney was very good. Carbonara spring peas and Parker House rolls are superb. Dinner of roast chicken and sea bass in dashi are good choices. Service is a bit unprofessional but earnest. Atmosphere is lovely.

Meh. Attractive and lively bar and lounge with piano and billiards. Cocktails are fine. Menu is interesting but the execution is terrible - none of the dishes were very good and actually sent one back (so salty it was inedible)and still was not good on second try. Service is amateurish. Fairly expensive. Go for a sunset drink and dine elsewhere.

Looking for somewhere new in Rancho Mirage? This restaurant is a complete re-thinking of the old country club space that was Desert Isle. The decor is modern and minimalistic with nice views of the golf course. The menu is simple with seasonal items, although in the desert most things are in season. The servers are still getting to know the place and the clients so dinner was not speedy and tables were not ready on time. However, the staff were very polite and did their best to acknowledge the delays. The food was lovely. Nice portions and great flavors. The room is a bit noisy so be prepared. The meals were clearly prepared fresh. We will go back again. Nice to have something new, close to home. Oh and the bar looked fun and relaxed.

I came here for my birthday dinner… and I was VERY disappointed. The food was so horrible! The service was amazing and the restaurant aesthetic was lovely. Very disappointing about the food though. My boyfriends chicken was so dry and my risotto was essentially a bowl of Gruyère… the only redeeming aspect of the dinner was the dessert. They barely had any of their menu items as well. I also order the Brussels sprouts and they were awfull! Barely cooked and doused in apple cider vinegar. It was honestly not even edible.

We recently had dinner at their horse shoe bar in the Penney. Pistachio green room. Very Palm Springs. Staff and food were good. Sunset view of the golf course was excellent. Planning to come back to spend time across the hall at the Parlour. Very cool lounge with drinks and appetizers. Big couches, pool table, piano… even the staff made me feel a Madmen vibe.

Went here with friends for my 34th birthday. We had dinner at The Penney and stayed afterwards for drinks at The Parlour. The ambiance was perfect in both places - it was like an art-deco-old-Palm-Springs-glamour vibe. Live piano was playing at the Parlour. Very inviting. Amazing drinks & great food menu. Definitely coming back! We loved it so much that we stayed for 5 hours ❤️.

I would follow Chef Jon Butler anywhere so I was thrilled when I found him at Penney and Parlour. The food was amazing and unique with an emphasis on what is fresh and seasonal. Chef Jon always tracks down the best oysters and they did not disappoint. Additionally the grilled avocado salad and the special take on the Caesar salad were definitely highlights. Super yummy pork belly and two delicious deserts and we rolled out to our car delighted and planning our return visit.

The Penney and the Parlour are two different places. One located on one side and one on the other. We were quite mislead by our reservation as we booked the MCM Seance experience for 6, however we were seated in the Penney side and our waiter was unaware of what the experience was and said that was in the parlour not where we were seated. We went back and forth to try to make it happen which meant coming back to cold dinner. The seance also had an additional cost that was not disclosed in the reservation which for our whole group was $525 dollars US. The experience was marketed very well but not at all what we expected. The restaurant bar is beautiful, service was good and the food was decent but pricey. Wine was reasonable and cocktails were delicious. The parlour looks wonderful. A piano bar that is cozy and classy. Would love to go back there for a cocktail sometime.

The Penney & ParlourResponded on March 10, 2023Hello! Thank you for the feedback and we are sorry to hear you experienced some confusion. We partnered with an aura reader for Modernism Week to add on an optional experience for our guests at an extra, optional cost. We apologize if we did not make that clear, but we did not keep any of that money as it went to the aura reader's small, local business. We will work on making our marketing language more clear next time. Than

Valentine’s Day was not a good night at Penney and Parlour. The restaurant seemed totally unprepared for the evening. Several menu items were not available when we arrived and the list grew as the evening wore on. How can you not have any Parker Rolls (or any bread substitute) or shrimp cocktail on Valentines Day? The frisée salad was good. Grilled Caesar salad was mysterious and there was little, if any, beef in the Ragu pasta - it was like they were trying to get more servings out of what was left. Our server was great and very apologetic for the lack of options and quality of food. A very disappointing experience considering the hype for this new restaurant. We shared feedback as we left and staff knew that the restaurant missed the mark on Valentine’s Day. Hopefully, things will improve but we won’t be back.

Despite a severe wind and rain storm which altered operational plans by moving all diners inside, the team worked diligently to take great care of their guests. We ate here on Valentines Day at 5:30 pm in the beautiful dining room-they were very very busy. They asked us to place our entire order at the beginning and were told it would be awhile. They forgot my prickly pear martini entirely but did end up bringing one at the end of the meal when I reminded him and it was comped. They were out of the Parker house rolls-which was disappointing as it was a small menu to begin with and there was no other bread option. we were told they didn’t make any rolls that day. I ordered the avocado and mint salad which was unbelievably delicious. I also ordered the berry salad. I did not care for the cabbage like lettuce but loved the goat cheese and berries. I took the pool of honey under the honeyed carrots and drizzled it on the berries and goat cheese which was very yummy. My husband ordered the steak which became much tastier after we added course sea salt to it. I had to wait for wine and had to ask several waitstaff. The manager was clearly doing his best to try and make things run smoothly but they were clearly understaffed. I love this place, but would not go on a holiday again.
