Food was outstanding and service was impeccable. Michel served us and was great! I had the Eggs Chesapeake and was delighted. My wife loved the corn beef hash. And the lattes were fabulous! Thank you!!
So happy that this beautiful restaurant has reopened for brunch. Everything was just perfect. Fast and very friendly service with lots of laughs and advice, and a great and funny surprise for the coffee at the end of the meal. When I just casually mentioned that it would be great to have something sweet to go with my aromatic and strong as it should be, coffee she smiled and magically produced four pieces of peach coffee cake for all of us to share as a complimentary treat! It was a perfect finish to our brunch where mimosa was elegant and bloody mary Ketel One strong and garnished with a candy like bacon with a maple syrup glaze on it. Steak and poached eggs were divine as well as hash and a breakfast sandwich not to mention of course their frites! Espresso just like in Rome. Atmosphere was so nice and with a calm excitement. Already missing it…and looking forward to the dinner service!
This is a beautiful restaurant inside of the Dupont Circle Hotel. The ambiance is very nice (lots of natural light, gorgeous fixtures/decor), and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are yummy, albeit a little overpriced. A good brunch place!
Outstanding food and service
Hands down our absolute fave for breakfast on Sunday after farmers market … and anyway! And staff is always great!
Outstanding service. Our server Kierra and was wonderful. Loved the brunch cocktails so much we went back again the next day for another round. Best Bloody Mary and super sweet bartender. Loved the place
Our waiter deserves a special commendation for the excellent care he took of our order, especially since we wanted a leisurely chance for conversation and the opportunity to order sequentially. Perfectly timed, perfectly handled!
This experience was my first visit. My friend recommended The Pembroke and I love the restaurant and hotel. From the moment I stepped inside the hotel I knew it was going to be a great brunch. Delicious food, excellent service and great atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit.
Food and ambience were great, but service was greatly lacking.
Nice experience, some challenges with meal timing and food, but we will be back to try it out again !
Nearly perfect. We had to ask for croissants specifically, and there wasn't any pure chcolate mousse on the menu. These are things I expect from a French restaurant. Otherwise, this place is great - wonderful decor, excellent service, and fabulous food!
Thank you for visiting us! We hope you will come and see us again soon!
I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict that I ordered. Sadly, though, the potato cake used wasn't able to soak up as much of the egg as an English muffin normally does. Thanks for the great food.
The tables were crowded and too close to adjacent diners. The food was terrible and the price was extremely high.
The overall experience was good and our waiter, Juan was great!
We had the nicest waitress and the food was fantastic. My friend and I couldn’t decide what we wanted so we asked them to split the eggs Benedict and the special which was perfect! Decor is lovely too!!
Great to sit at a bar again. The manager is so charming. The tuna tostadas are to die for!
The patio had a trash smell. There are trash cans across the street. The smell was very pungent at first but we were situated and didn’t want to move. We strongly considered it but we had two young kids in tow.
First time since covid19.. great service and the waiter was awesome
Our very first restaurant experience post CoVid! We were so happy to see so many of the same staff people. Such an elegant, unpretentious room. Delicious food! A dream!
Excellent dining experience, all around. Our server, Matthew, was friendly, attentive, and on top of things. Decor is swanky but not snobby. Loved it!!
Our first time back since the pandemic closure and it was great to be back. I highly recommend the Pembroke and look forward to them reopening for dinner. Since they had so recently reopened, I expected a few glitches at Sunday's brunch. There were NONE. Our server Matthew was his usual exceptional self, not only with returnees like us but also with several new guests. (The Manager, Chris, stopped by several times to welcome us back and to make sure we were pleased with both our entrees and the service. We were.)
The most amazing decor ❤️ The ambiance was beautiful!!! Matthew the waiter was amazing and the Host is the best to ever do it!!! I will be back again and again!!! Very attentive staff with great positive energy ❤️
Consider more global
We went to brunch for a friend’s birthday. It was day 2 of them opening again and it was clear that everyone was getting use to everything again. The food took forever to come out. When it did, it was good but not worth the amount of money. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and that was $36. The menu was cut down as well. Very limited selection. There’s NO FRENCH TOAST. I wouldn’t recommend this place for just a brunch, only if you realllllyyyyy want to be fancy
Beautiful decor, lovely (sunny) setting. I was so happy to see some brunch options that were a little unique but not over-the-top unusual.
Service was fantastic. Waiter didn't rush us, didn't seem to have any issues letting us enjoy our meal and conversation.
I didn't really have issues with the price points on the menu, but drinks were on the pricey side, so a good spot for one drink with your meal, perhaps not more.
Stunning serene space, with thoughtful decor touches and an upscale yet Comfortable vibe. I have to eat gluten free and they accommodated admirably, and knew their stuff so i felt safe ordering an amazing roast chicken dish and octopus appetizer.
Delicious lunch in a nice setting.
This is a beautiful restaurant no doubt. The service is great etc. but the food is average to below average. For an expensive restaurant - you have better options in DC to choose from. I’d go here for drinks and apps but skip the meal.
Great ambiance, service and food! Love it!
We were well-served and amply fed in a delightful atmosphere.
We had a great time at the Pembroke, where food, drinks, the ambience and the service all made for a great evening with friends.
Server was too fast at every step inc giving us our check right after we received our desert. Potato-leek soup not very good. all other items we had were fine
Service was amazing. Food was delicious. Environment was elegant. I will return...and hopefully it'll be warm enough soon to sit on the patio!
Dear Leslie, Thank you for your recent review of The Pembroke! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to our restaurant, and that everything met your expectations! We hope to see you again soon - the weather is looking patio-ready as early as next week! Best, Taylor
Overall nice place. Food is priced on the high side for what it is, $5 for a side of avocado and one half of a small avocado comes on a plate.
Been coming here for the last 10 years and it's changed a lot as we all have, the upgrades are glorious, thankfully the staff remain. Closest we have to a neighborhood place where everybody knows your name, glad this place still here.
Dear rufkdlk, Thank you for your recent review of The Pembroke. It is true that we have gone through some great growth and changes over the past ten years, and I am so happy to hear that we are still one of your favorite spots in the city! We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Best wishes, Taylor
The food was really delicious, albeit very expensive. The ambiance was truly the best part, its a beautiful setting. The service was slow on a Sunday, but the location is so nice you don't mind waiting.
We were so excited to try The Pembroke for brunch. I arrived on time at 12p and checked in with the hostesses. They informed me they were “preparing my table” and I could not sit down until the other guests in my party arrived. There was an empty table by the bar (ended up being our table) the entire time I waited for my group to arrive, so seems silly to make me awkwardly wait by the hostess stand rather than just seat me, but I obliged. Once we sat down, our waitress came over & was very friendly. We ordered drinks (mimosas and a coffee drink). Our drinks, I repeat our drinks, did not arrive until 45 minutes later. Apparently they ran out of milk for the coffee drink and had to get it from a different part of the restaurant, so rather than coming by to tell us that...we learned it 45 minutes later. We placed our food order, four entrées. It was not until at least 35 minutes later that the manager came by to tell me my dish was no longer available. The waitress was kind enough to get us a round of mimosas on the house. While she was extremely friendly and apologetic, I do not think that we will be back to this restaurant. It seems like they were overwhelmed with the amount of patrons and probably understaffed. The venue itself is very pretty and has a garden-like environment to it. But we all agreed that The Pembroke is a one and done experience for all of us.
Food is ok. Service is VERY slow, but if you are trying to live your best Instagram life this place is for you. Beautiful space to wait a very long time for everything.
This was the first time eating at The Pembroke after hearing from my mom how wonderful it is. She was so spot on with her recommendation. I enjoyed the farrow, quinoa, butternut squash and arugula salad with poached eggs. The light filled space and wonderful service will hopefully bring me back in the near future.
Great Valentines meal at a wonderful establishment. I would certainly recommend!
