The Pembroke is Washington DC’s newest dining sensation. The venue was rated 2.5 out 4 in March 2019 by the Washington Post and was quoted “The Pembroke makes Dupont Circle a destination again”.
Designed by world-renowned Martin Brudnizki, The Pembroke is complemented by a seasonal outdoor terrace and features an edifying blend of cream-paneled walls adorned with playful artwork, plush velvet plush banquettes in a mix of blue and coral tones and beautiful marble tabletops.
At its center is the beautifully-appointed marble bar, a classic cocktail bar reminiscent of the 1950s, serving a range of spirits and the finest wines.
The Contemporary American Cuisine menu is prepared with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The venue is open for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner.
It was a spectacular dining experience for my wife and me. Delicious food, impeccable service and an ambiance which would be very hard to beat!
Service makes the meal here. Outstanding. Food is very good too with a good selection on the menu. Matthew, our server and the staff at the desk: A plus.
The restaurant is absolutely and a wonderful place for a business lunch or breakfast. It’s in a hotel so reservations are recommended as it can get busy with hotel guests. The patio is nice when the weather cooperates. The service can be slow - the staff is always polite and courteous but will bring you a fork with your oatmeal or you have to ask for your check more than once and so on. It’s not terribly service but if you’re coming here for a power hour, try the bar.
Too pricey, but very nice atmosphere and food definitely good
The service, food and ambience were great! Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back.
The service was exceptional. In general everything was great
My food was great however, my friend's pancakes were extremely dry and another friend's omelet was under cooked. My friend with the omelet did let the staff know and they happily cooked her another one. The drink list was a bit high and my friends who drank didn't love them. Other than that, I love the restaurant and the feel of it. I would probably go back.
The brunch was just amazing - it’s the best in DC. Everything is prepared with thought and with fresh ingredients, the staff is very attentive and speedy with service. Not to mention the restaurant is just gorgeous to dine in. Five stars!
Absolutely lovely setting but my salad (arugula w/chicken) was by turns very dry (the chicken) and soupy (the greens). Way too expensive not to be top notch. This is the 2nd meal I've had at the Pembroke. The first -- a brunch -- was much better.
Sat near window. Good view. Service with a smile. Good chia, coffee, juice drink, and delicious pastries and rolls
The staff did a wonderful job making me feel special on my Birthday!
Lunch with my dad for his 71st birthday
Really beautiful space, open and airy, loved the plants, however it was very overpriced. Food was not worth the money, small portions, somewhat bland. I would go back maybe for a drink but would not return for food. Waiter was too attentive, constantly coming over to check in and clean our table.
This restaurant is in a hotel in my neighborhood. The food was VERY good and service spot on. I am surprised it was not more crowded.
Excellent place, but service is a bit slow. Ambiance is wonderful!!
The ambiance and aesthetic was fantastic! Derrek, our waiter, was a true pleasure. Definitely a way to do an affordable brunch in DC.
Awesome service, food and drinks! Recently went this past weekend and id highly recommend
Atmosphere was wonderful, food was prepared with love
Server was terrible and very unprofessional
Outstanding restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful room, good food but not challenging. Pricey.
Food was tasteless. Three menus for food, juice and other beverages. Had to ask for each one. Nice setting. Staff nice.
Food was absolutely delicious and impeccable service. Will certainly go back.
The refresh of this restaurant is fantastic! Beautiful decor, highly professional wait staff and excellent food was worth the wait. In particular, our waiter, Christopher made a number of great recommendations and made us feel special with the extra attention he provided.
I love this place. It is so fancy and of good taste. The food is delicious and the service is really good. Don’t miss it when you are in Washington
The Pembroke has a cute "New York" sort of feel, and reminded me a lot of Tavern on the Green in central park. The food was so yummy.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, very good service. We will be back!
I quite often eat at The Pembroke because it is convenient and I enjoy the ambience and the staff. However, I have become a bit bored with its limited lunch and dinner menus. A little more variety and more choices would be helpful in keeping me as an ongoing client.
Excellent brunch caring wait staff despite how busy. The manager can’t remember her name greeted guests discussed issues related to food and menu descriptions and cared we enjoyed this birthday brunch. I would definitely return
I loved brunch at The Pembroke! The ambiance, color scheme, and lighting were beautiful. I ordered a simple brunch of avocado toast with egg, smoked salmon, and side of berries. The waiter was very attentive and polite. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. I will absolutely be back.
Topnotch service. Bar was a little slow. Food was very good to great. Had the dover sole meuniere. Size of the portion was almost overwhelming. The appetizers - prawn cocktail and octopus - were delicious as was the wine. Definitely would return.
The food was very delicious and the service was very attentive. The prices are on the high side even for fine dining of this caliber.
Amazing French toast
Celebrating a birthday and couldn’t have been nicer!!!
My husband and I went to The Pembroke for lunch on my birthday. The food was great. I had mussels in coconut curry - it was so flavorful and the portion size was perfect. The octopus starter was tender and had a great kick to it. And the warm bread - yum! Our server was wonderful: friendly and very attentive without being intrusive. We had one small issue with an app that he didn't make excuses for, he just quickly fixed the issue and that was that. We'd decided to skip dessert because we had been made content with the apps and our entrees. Our server asked what I would have picked if we had dessert and then brought out that choice (the berry tart - yes!!) on a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate. It was lovely. We had our 7 month old daughter with us and the staff was very considerate of her needs and forgiving of the mess she left on the floor. We will for sure be going back to check them out for dinner, which I understand is fantastic!
Great food... great place... very much enjoyed our gathering with friends from out of town.
The service was friendly, but very slow. The ambiance had a bit of a Miami vibe. The food was decent but overpriced and, truth be told, I wound up with a terrible stomach ache an hour after leaving (I had the Greek salad and crab ravioli).
Excellent food; it deserves the great review it got from the Washington Post. But it is pricier than most places in the area.
I thought the food was good, but a bit overpriced. Coupled with the so-so service, I thought the value wasn't great. But the restaurant is very pretty, and the bar is quiet so would definitely recommend it for a drink and maybe a snack.
